Professional crew; work was done quickly, with minimal disruption and fairly good cleanup. The house is older and the crew chief took reviewed the interior carefully to insure there would be no damage to the walls in the insulation process.

The team from McLaughlin Weatherization, who completed the work from my Mass Save Program energy audit to install insulation in my attic was AWESOME! They were a team of 3, who ensured the job got done efficiently and well. Professional, courteous and personable! I was very pleased with how they entered my home, treated my home and me while in it and when they left they even brushed up the very last of any dirt they might have brought in. I cannot rave enough about how great the experience was because I was able to work downstairs and stay out of their way but they definitely went above and beyond in my opinion! I didn't know the front door would get a package of weather stripping too. So while that was nice, the guy in charge of the team of 3 not only removed the old to install the new, the front door closes properly now! I cannot thank you enough for this small act of kindness (even if it was fixed with the new trim) because I had been so worried about my kitties getting out one day because the latch would not catch to keep the door closed. Also, the senior member leading the team demonstrated his years of experience and knowledge and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I highly recommend this company as a partner for Mass Save and I would personally pay them for any future work needed if not covered by Mass Save.

We hired McLaughlin & Williams through the MassSave program, which had performed an energy saving audit for our house and made a clear checklist of work to be done that we could confirm with the contractors. We scheduled the job months in advance, but they were flexible when we needed to reschedule at relatively short notice. Jay and his team showed up early the first day, and clearly laid out the work they were going to do, and why. When weather and scheduling issues prevented work on the second day, they sent a double team on the third to make sure everything got done within the scheduled time. In general, the workers took good care. The exterior siding that was removed for injection was cleanly replaced, though some shingles that were already damaged or waterlogged were a little worse off. Despite all the dust that comes with blown cellulose, there were only a few traces inside. They also made sure our cats didn't get out. During the course of the job, they also found that there was already some wall insulation in one section of our house, and only charged us for the work done.

Contacted McLaughlin for a quote and Bill Sovie from the company arranged to see the job for an estimate. Had to reschedule a couple of times due to weather etc, but when he got to the house he took measurements and let me know the approximate cost. He followed up a couple of days later with a written estimate, and their price was slightly less (but not substantially) than another quote I got. I asked them to get me on the schedule, and was told the office would contact me shortly. Within a day or so the office called and said they had a cancellation and could start the same week. I wasn't ready so I asked them for an alternate date which they had a week later. I scheduled the service, and they showed up when they said they would. The guys that came gave me a rundown on the job, told me I needed to be out of the house for 24 hours. They taped off the outlets, sealed all the windows etc and did a great job prepping the room. I wish they would have vacuumed out the foundation to get the 30 years of debris out, but I ended up doing it while they were prepping the room. They completely filled the bays with closed cell foam and did a great job. I had foam done a few years back with a different company, and MClaughlin's job was WAY better and more professionally done. The pictures I attached is while they were still cleaning up the job. I am super happy with their job and I would definitely hire them on my next foam insulation job.

Amazing. I live in a very old house with my kitchen getting into the 30s overnight. The inside of the fridge was the warmest thing in the room. I requested them for my MassSave contract after reading many reviews and how they had experience with older homes (and being delicate with pre-cracked plaster walls). They came exactly when they said, were nice and answered every question I had about what was going on. They managed to fit into tiny spaces in the attic and crawlspace, filled every void they could get to, and the only sign that anything happened in my walls is a little bit of shredded newspaper in the driveway. The MassSave inspector said they're a top team, and everything they did was fantastic. To be fair, he couldn't sneak into the tiny attic entrances, but we both trust that everything's as perfect up there too, and I saw the insulation blow in so I know it's there! In summary, they were awesome, and I suddenly I can't wait for it to get cold again.

Bill came out and talked to us about different options for our insulation project. He was very knowledgeable and honest with us about the pros and cons of different types of insulation, and was willing to communicate and coordinate with the fellow who'd just installed our roof. He was also one of only a couple of providers that offered rigid board + cellulose, and his bid was wayyyyyyy lower than the other outfit's. We ended up going with a different solution through a company that a friend recommended, but McLaughlin was our runner-up bid. Showed up on time, submitted a bid quickly, and followed up. Very professional, would definitely recommend.

The office was very responsive when I contacted them with a question and when setting up the appointment. They followed up by phone a few days before the scheduled work day. The contractors were 10 minutes early, very polite and patiently answered all my questions. The work was very well executed and done promptly. They even swept before they left to leave the place as clean as they found it. Highest recommendation.

After I selected McLaughlin, from the Mass Save list of approved insulation contractors, I received a call from Noreen. She was very helpful and went over each item on the work order and explained what they were going to do. She said if I had any questions or concerns about the work the men were doing I should give her a call. I did not have to. The McLaughlin 4-man crew, led by Dino were terrific. They arrived "before schedule" and worked non-stop until the job was finished. Dino explained everything they were going to do, and why and how they may have to differ from the Mass Save work order. The crew was very respectful to us and our home, cleaning up so well that we did not have to clean up after them. I would definitely hire them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to my family, friends and neighbors. Lou

I can't speak highly enough about them. They are literally the best workers I've had in my house in 10 years. I will use them again. I plan to have to do my attic.

Our two-person crew did a great job: thorough professional work. As to the details: they called to say they were a bit delayed in traffic on arrival which allowed me to get something done -- very convenient. They were courteous and professional, discussed everything that needed to be done, explained exactly what they were doing, and responded to some last-minute changes based on some unexpected elements of the job smoothly and effectively. Great work!

This was a great experience. Ray came to give me a quote and took his time to explain everything involved. He gave me good suggestions on improving the airflow in the attic. His was the best quote of 3 that I got, for money and work involved. The team arrived on time on the scheduled date and started immediately. They were very professional, attentive and careful going around the house. They answered all my questions. I was amazed of how well they did the job. It went beyond my expectations. They were dedicated and sealed the whole attic and exterior walls of the basement. They even went beyond the stipulated work and weather-sealed an entry door that did not have a weather-seal and did other details!. We are very happy with the work and we already see the difference on how the house can maintain its heat. I highly recommend them. We do not have MassSave so their price was reasonable for the work done.

McLaughlin Weatherization took the contract under the MassSave program to air seal and add additional installation to our SuperCape home. Most of the work was in the attic and in the knee wall areas. The work took two days. They installed "door kits" to better seal the knee wall and attic hatch areas, and installed door sweeps on the same. They built fiberglass dams around ceiling can lights not rated for contact with insulation, then blew in 6 inches of cellulose (The MassSave spec was 4 inches, Chris indicated he blew in 6 so the required R rating would still be there after settling). They install PolyIso 2" foam on the house-side walls of the knee wall areas. Mass Save (a utility weatherization program) picked up $2000 of the tab, leaving me to pay $1400 for the work overall. Note that McLaughlin didn't spec this work. That was done by Conservation Services Group as part of the Mass Save program. This is messy work. Cellulose and fiberglass going everywhere. While they were working, the house was a mess. But they cleaned up each night. I still found some cellulose in a few corners of the living space, but overall they did good work cleaning up. Chris and Mo communicated well and got the job done neatly in a timely manner. The work was as spec'd and on schedule. Overall, I'm happy with their work and would work with them again.

First, let me start by saying that we had Next Step Living handle our first floor insulation a couple of years ago and the experience was pretty bad. Our auditor was great, the QC guy who came in to inspect was great, but the crew who did the work was awful. They blew through 3 walls and did overall shoddy work. So, I was once bitten, twice shy about having the second floor done, but the crew at McLaughlin (Jay, Mike, Chris, and Mo) did such a great job. They were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel like I was in good hands. They did the work that was contracted by Mass Saves, but they went above and beyond by also fixing some of the shoddy work that Next Step Living had done. I had a couple of questions about things that were outside of the scope of the contract and they were so helpful and thorough in answering my questions and letting my know all of my options. I am certainly going to have them come back and do the work that was outside of the scope of this project. Cellulose can be messy, and they did a good job of cleaning up. I had such a positive experience with these guys, and you could tell they enjoyed working together, which was great too. So, I highly recommend!

Appointment making with office and owners was professional and flexible with my schedule, all questions and issues were discussed in advance and answered to my satisfaction. Description of Work: Very accommodating with schedule and was able to do work the following week we received the estimate. At first they left 1/4 of a basement wall uninsulated due to one panel being near water heater. They said they would blow out pilot. After discussion they found a different method and added it. Price was fair at $5250. They went out of their way to clean up and I was extremely satisfied with project and would use them again.

I had an energy audit and was given a list of contractors to choose from in order to comply with their savings plan. I called 4 places, and Mclaughlin was the only one that would answer their phones or promptly call me back. Of the other 3, 1 never returned my call and 2 were too difficult to talk to. I seriously could not talk to people there. Anyways, McLaughlin immediately and willingly scheduled a simple walk through of my house for free and said they could do everything the audit contract said and even told me that the contract was lacking vents needed for my attic (which was agreed upon by the state system and my contract was upgraded). After the walk through and paperwork was complete I was able to easily schedule the insulation job within a couple weeks. The day of, they arrived 10 minutes early (excellent) and were finished at 3pm (they gave an estimate of being complete around 3pm to 5pm). Everyone was nice and they did a thorough job and answered a few questions I had with ease and understanding to full explain everything. High rating on my end - my only comment is while they did a great job closing shop, they could have gottena couple brooms and swept as a final step. This only made me sweep parts of the house for 15 minutes but still sometihng that could have been done. I would highly recommend these guys - excellent communication, great workers who showed up on time. They also avoided sawing a hole in the ceiling of a bedroom (temporary access as described by the audit contract) to access a "blind attic" by accessing it through the roof and installing a vent where they cut a hole to enter, which was a sigh of relief.
