Elite General Contracting

We went with a recommendation of a neighbor, and hired Sean Naughton and his Elite General Contracting. The estimates were OK, however, they installed non-argon filled windows (my husband made a special request for argon-filled windows for better energy efficiency and to qualify for tax rebate). When confronted they said that these windows still qualify for the tax rebate (no, they don't!). Before installing the windows Sean claimed that all of the windows will be fitting so tight that we wouldn't hear any of the outside noises -- another lie. When windows were installed they just painted over all the places where the frames joined the walls, without adding some caulking or what needs to be added first. Obviously once the paint dried up it cracked up, and now these cracks are collecting the dust. When the windows were installed, we were promised mullions installed outside, however, it took more than 4 months of calls and e-mails, and no response. Another problem resurfaced during heavy rains: the sealing around French door was done poorly and leaked. When communicated that this had to be addressed, there was no response from Sean or anybody else in the company. It took a very nasty e-mail followed by a phone call, saying that unless they come immediately to resolve the issue we are hiring a new company to do it and billing Elite Gen. Contracting for the work. They showed up next day without setting up an appointment -- luckily I was home so could show them where the leak was (otherwise they couldn't see it from the outside with blinds drawn up). They installed the mullions and sealed the leaking place. We agreed that they would wait until next heavy rain with no leaks to fix the wall where the leak occurred and redo the sloppy painting around the windows. Now, another heavy rain came, the French doors leaked again. I tried calling and e-mailing Sean and Elite General contracting, but all of their phones are all disconnected, and I was not able to reach them. Now we are stuck with not finished work and leaking windows, and nobody to answer for any of these. Very frustrating experience, especially taking into account the price we paid for this extremely sloppy work.
