In a nutshell, I though the installation was excellent, but the communication was fair. Getting the gas line dug, the town permit, the meter, etc, was complicated and took about 3 weeks. During that time I didn't have heat or hot water. When giving me the estimate, Charlie assurred me that their company did this all the time, had an "in" with National Grid, and would facilitate a smooth process. However, I always had to call Charlie for updates, he did not keep me posted in a timely manner. He said each time I called that he was just about to call me. I felt that the follow through I expected was not there. The installation of the boiler began on a Monday and was not completed until Friday. On Tuesday I came home at 3:30 pm and no one was there. When I called the company the receptionist checked and told me there had been an emergency and they had to leave. However, on Thursday the electrician worked until 9:30 pm to complete the work. One of the best things was the installation of the upstairs heat. I was concerned that some of my closet space would have to be used. However, they ran the new pipes under the floor and behind the walls without disturbing anything - you can't tell new pipes are going through the walls. The cleanup after the job was good. Another positive is that whenever I called the office everyone was very responsive, helpful, and courteous. Two things really bothered me - I found out a month after installation that there was a rebate on the hot water heater which they never informed me of. Also, I paid for the boiler directly and it turned out to be a huge problem getting directly reimbursed by the Heat Loan Program - the process doesn't work that way, they have apparently never had that happen before. I feel it was poor service to allow these two things to occur. I got new windows and insulation in the same time period, and both of those companies informed me of rebates, completed needed paperwork, and in one case gave me a stamped envelope to use to mail it in! So I feel I have a well installed boiler but don't feel great about the process of getting it.

Very responsive in submitting bid. They were the highest of three bidders, but showed the most interest and were willing to try to address issues others were not. I had only one zone for our 4 br colonial, which had living space on 3 levels. Big temp.disparities between upstairs and downstairs. Original ducts, including trunk supply in walls from first to second floors, were poorly sized and installed. Heating was 26 years old, cooling 25, both working but on their last legs. Cooling Unlimited was able to begin installation within a few days of my accepting their proposal. The 2-person team of installers were at our home for 3 1/2 days. Extremely personable, on-time, and hard-working. Careful to clean up and remove all debris- and with this project there was a lot of debris to remove. The finished ductwork was thoughfully located to leave adequate headroom in our unfinished basement, and is very neat and clean looking in terms of insulation, brackets, etc. The new system works as promised. While the air flow is still not ideal upstairs (I would not agree to break open and rebuild a wall to upsize the main supply), it is a significant improvement from before, and the two zones effectively allow me to compensate for the temperature differences. Overall, the installed systems work as promised. The price seemed on the high side, but given that the installers spent 50+ man hours total inside our home, did a substantial amount of ductwork, and gave me two state of the art systems and a new humidifier, I feel like we got our money's worth. Would definitely recommend Cooling Unlimited for significant install job in a home.

All went amazingly well from the time we met with Charlie, their representative, to finally agreeing on pricing to start to finish of the actual project of installing duct work & central air system. Both my husband and I felt extremely well taken care of by Charlie and the two very professional & personable (& punctual) crew who came out to do the install work. I can't recommend them highly enough!

He arrived on time and got right to work. Our condo proved to be a little tricky to inspect because our HVAC system is in unit in the ceilings of our bathroom. It's very squished in so I know it was tricky to reach some of the very important parts like the drainage system. He let me know that the drainage system could not be reached unless they cut a hole in the wall. He made some simple suggestions on how it could be better accessed. I had no idea where the condensor was, but he finally found it on the roof, which was quite a surprise. Though everything was fine with the condensor, he did mention if there ever was a problem it will be difficult to clean with the acid wash because it is on a rubber roof - important info! He was patient with my questions, efficient, helpful and professional.

Leo was there at 8 am and left at 10 am. I will most likely contract with the company for a yearly maintenance. Having the units more efficient will most likely save me some money in the long run...

Other than the fact that it took two months to actually get the job scheduled and done (it came right at a time when heating emergencies took precedence) and other than the fact that some of the workmen were not on time, I think they did a good job at a very competitive price. And the sales rep, Charlie, followed up on the late appointments and made sure the workmen arrived to do the job.

They showed up on time. They provided a professional and reasonably priced estimate in a timely manner.

Wonderful. Dennis was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The workmen were professional, polite, worked hard, and everyone kept us up-to-date with the project. It was expected to last 4-5 days. The gas company held everything and the job went into the next week. However, the workers were able to hook up the hot water. They also promptly took care of some problems that the inspector noticed, and came back to adjust the heating on the top floor. We could not have wished for an easier or more smoothly run project. I really recommend them. It was wonderful to have the communication and professionalism. Everything was taken care of and we didn't have to worry about a thing.

Charlie came out and did a nice job with the estimate. We felt comfortable with his options for us and selected him over two other bidders. They came do to the installation within a couple of weeks of selection. The installers did a professional job. They arrived on-time, worked diligently through the 2 days, and left things in order upon completion. The American Standard units are working nicely and we saw a significant decrease in our electricity consumption over the summer. The only problem came in getting the rebate processed after the installation. It took several submittals before all of the paperwork was in order (this job was done at the end of May and our rebate came in late September). This definitely wasn't the first time that a customer was filing a rebate so I was a little frustrated that it took so long. Once was due to mis-reading the unit serial number which happens but then Cooling Unlimited did not provide a complete invoice to the rebate company. I would think they have done this enough times to know what needs to be provided. Overall, they did an excellent job with the project but the paperwork snafu during the rebate was frustrating. I have no problem recommending them though.

I received a quote from Charlie B. a year prior and called them the next year (after obtaining (2) other quotes. This year the quote was $500 higher (due to increased costs of copper). The initial inspection of my house was thorough and well done. The job itself was done in a day and a half and the left over materials taken away on the third day. I went with these folks because this is all they do and theyve been in business quite a few years and they are local. Neither did they say "sign up today and you get X amount off." (like Sears).

This particular company has been in business for a lot of years. The guy who comes out comes on time and he answers my questions. I feel comfortable with them because they are specialized. You get the same guy coming out all the time. They've been in business a long time. I paid more to use them than if I would have used a larger organization, but I do not regret it at all because they were so very good to me and I like the fact I deal with the same guy all the time. Its nice.

I had neglected to have the 2 units' maintenance performed last year, so it was overdue. The service technician found one unit working perfectly. The other unit had a problem with a balancing of the pressures. He tried several different techniques to try and solve the problem - starting with the least expensive first, sharing the details of what he needed to do and what the correct outcome would be. He offered at every step of the way to show me what he was doing. I have had service technicians in the past who have been very condescending because I am a woman - but this was quite the opposite (and a nice surprise). In the end, he was able to improve - not totally fix - the situation. He made some recommendations for some future work, and shared some options that might save us some money. He also was good about explaining the urgency (not very) of the work. I felt he was informative, honest - and for the amount of time he spent working on the system - reasonably priced.

Charlie arrived on schedule and provided us back a quote quickly (within a few days). In the end, we went with another vendor who was less expensive.
