It was a very good experience with Cooling Unlimited. They were the most thoughtful of three different companies we received quotes from about what our needs were. Dennis did a very good job assessing what was in our house and obviously gave a lot thought to how he installed things. When we went into the basement I was nervous we would lose head space during the unit installations, but Dennis was very responsive and made sure to tuck the ducts in so you did not notice them. We talked things over and when it came time for installation, we found a better place for the units. We now have one set of air handlers in the attic with vents going into each bedroom and bathroom through the ceilings and one in the basement with routed ducts to the floor throughout the first floor. Dennis' crew of two to three guys did a really good job. He was there the first day to make sure everyone knew where everything would go. They did a good job putting everything in and running it. The price was reasonable. Dennis went the extra mile for what I think was the best for our situation.

This was a great experience. Cooling Unlimited's technician was first rate and explained everything that he was doing. He worked quickly and efficiently. He also gave us good advice about how to use our central air unit. We had been turning it off during the day; then the AC had to run for hours to take the inside temperature down from the mid-80s to the low-70s. He explained that letting the AC run for so long, continuously, damaged the system _and_ used more electricity. By keeping the air 6 degrees warmer (79) than we want it at night (73), the AC would take less wear and tear, and we'd use less electricity. All of this -- the quick response time, the good communication, and the helpful advice -- was very much appreciated.

They were very punctual, both for the initial estimate as well as for the actual installation. The work was done very quickly and very professionally: they cleaned up afterwards and made sure their work was done properly. The installers were also personable, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. The system works exactly as described and we are very thankful they were able to perform the installation as quickly as they did.

They were fantastic! Very punctual in both providing a fair quote for the work and when they performed. They followed up several weeks after the installation to ensure that we were happy with both the work and how the unit was performing.

Technician, Matt, was very pleasant and informative. He reviewed all aspects of the system with us and exchanged old filter for new, etc.

Nice guy and if we ever have issues we would call him again even though he wasn't able to fix the problem.

What a great experience with a company, exactly what a service provider should be! Shaun has been absolutely amazing. The job was done well and quickly, everything went as promised. Even after the job was completed, their help with paperwork (we took advantage of MassSave intensives) was invaluable. Thank you!

Very good experience. Dennis came to do the estimate himself, and was very knowledgeable about the options. Team of 2 guys that came did a great job. The work was very successful in reducing the noise that had been traveling down into the building due to vibration. Cost was a bit more than I had hoped/expected, although was consistent with another estimate I got (which I also felt was rather high). They seemed a bit busy, and sometimes took a day to get back to me, but overall responsiveness was good.

Had them come to my house to quote a job. They showed up on time and were extremely knowledgable and professional. A+. They recomended a system that I ultimately wasn't comfortable with. B It took 2-3 weeks of gonig back and forth to get a quote. B- I finally gave up and shared with them another quote I received and they were unable to be competititve. C

It took a few calls to get the project going but they were there on the appointed day and did a wonderful job. I would work with them happily again. So my recommendation is that if you are having trouble reaching them, stick with it because they are great to work with.

The old HVAC system was over 20 years old and even though it was still operational we didn't want to wait for an emergency to get it replaced, specially in the middle of winter. We requested quotes from several companies, but Cooling Unlimited was among the only ones that really understood our budget and quoted for the best system our money could afford. On every appointment they arrived on time (or even earlier) and finished the work as planned. The new furnace is working well. For the A/C, they said they would come back to tune it as soon as the weather is warmer.

I called them early on a Sunday morning. They called back within 30 minutes and arrived within 2 hours. The technician was polite and smart, and he was able to identify the problem and fix it quickly. He let us know that another company that we had paid to do routine maintenance had missed something important. He was professional and did fast work. The price seemed reasonable too for an emergency visit. Very good company.

From start to finish, our experience was fantastic. I left a message over the weekend to schedule my appointment and received a return call on Monday. Matt, our service technician, was very professional. He arrived on time and kept me informed on what he was doing or had done. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the summer for our air conditioner maintenance. I can understand why they've won so many Angie's List awards!

The cooling installers as my daughter would say were awesome. They were professional, friendly, timely and cleaned up after their work was done. We were very happy with the completed project.

It was done very professionally. They knew what they were doing. They were on time and everything was well coordinated and completed on time. They cleaned up well. It was so nice.

Mark came out and was professional. He did seem knowledgeable in cooling systems and hydronic systems. However, we were surprised that he did not open up the condensers outside or look at them up close, like the other companies that gave us estimates. A week later we received their written proposal, estimates for 2 options and a professional company folder with information about the company. Their estimates were on the higher end and ranged from 6,600k - $9100 for different options to replace both condensers.

They came out and looked at everything for me. Everything seemed to be better off. I spent $200 on the job. It was time to change from my earlier provider. So, I used this company. They will be doing regular servicing for me.

Outstanding sales, service and customer service!!!

The sales and installation was very professional with good communication and documentation. Due to their volume, they were able to get units from Japan that other providers couldn't source quickly. We had two installers working for most of three days to do all aspects of the job. One of the five inside units didn't work on all functions. A repair person came out that day to thoroughly problem solve, fix it, and then test it several different ways. We are very happy with the process and results.

Cooling Unltd gets 2 thumbs up from us! With the recent heatwave, it was awful to return from vacation to discover our central ac was broken (high velocity system, 1955 Cape style house). I called about 6 places (all well reviewed by Angie's List, btw). This company was the only one with a prompt return call. The phone receptionist was helpful and professional. She didn't give me the vague dismissive attitude that the others did ("I don't know, we might get to you tomorrow or later this week. It depends"). Unbelievable! They had a cancellation and came within the hour. Matt was the tech and he very quickly diagnosed the blown capacitor. He quoted the price upfront, and was done with the job within 75 min. He courteously checked freon levels and pressures, and was fast, tidy and professional. The way a company treats the little jobs really shows their flavor, in my opinion. 137.95 for diagnostic/visit, $193 for capacitor. They're great.

The technician arrived and found that the blower motor and and capacitor were not working. The diagnosis took 45 minutes and cost $137.95 and was not credited towards the repair of the system which seems like a steep pricing structure. Their hourly rate is lower. Unfortunately, the parts could not be found locally and had to be ordered. The parts took 10 days (Memorial Day included) which was frustrating but no fault of Cooling Unlimited. Doreen continuously reassured me that she was doing what she could to push the vendor to work faster to get the parts out the door. The installation was scheduled quickly once the parts arrived. After installation, I found water leaking from the air handling unit after it ran during a particulalry hot afternoon. I called them back and they returned to find that the Puron level was low and likely causing the coil to freeze up leading to water overflowing the pan beneath it. They recharged it (cost: $140 - included in the $1100 total) and it has run fine ever since. I would have liked them to inspect the Puron charge or measure the temperature exiting the vents prior to leaving the first time to make sure everything was working properly and a return call was not warranted. Also, the bill contains no breakdown of labor and parts which makes it difficult to assess or compare vendors.
