I looked them up because they had serviced my unit that I have in my house before and I saw them on Angie's List. They came out twice. The price was where it should be. They were excellent. They were knowledgeable and the price was competitive. I recommended them to two people.

Overall it went just fine. Professional service without any drama or hucksters. Highly recommended!

We wanted to replace our old oil heating system. We got three estimates, all companies from Angie's list. We liked all three and the estimates were similar in price. We chose Cooling Unlimited because Kevin was able to answer all our questions and they seemed big enough to get the work done on time. Kevin was our contact throughout the process and he was responsive and always available. The team came when Kevin said they would, got the work done in two days and arranged for a company to remove our old oil tank. Once the system was installed we had two problems. The first was an odd, fog-horn like sound that occurred whenever the heat came on. When we called to report it, the company sent a technician the same week to correct it. The second problem was with the radiator that Cooling Unlimited installed in the kitchen. Once it was installed it sounded like a water fountain! We called and Kevin who sent a technician but he couldn't fix it. It took two and a half months but Kevin kept at it, calling the manufacturer and figuring out they had installed the wrong unit. Just this month they came and replaced the unit with the appropriate Runtal radiator and it now works perfectly. We also were impressed by the way they handled the rebates. They were efficient and professional and we received all the rebates they promised. While we wish they could have gotten it right the first time, we never felt like Cooling Unlimited didn't care or wouldn't get it done. They were great and we are fully satisfied. We would hired them again and can highly recommend them.

My husband and I had been busy and thus late in changing the filter on the Aprilaire air cleaning unit attached to our high efficiency natural gas furnace. Our furnace, which is about five or six years old, had never been serviced so we decided to find a company and take care of both of these matters. We'd had a very good experience with Cooling Unlimited previously and gotten a quote from them for adding a humidifier to that system, which we didn't go forward with for cost reasons. In the first instance, the man who came out to assess our situation and provide the quote, and in both instances, the person who handles incoming calls in the office, provided top drawer service: professional, responsive, timely, courteous, and pleasant to deal with. Although I found a number of excellent HVAC companies to choose from on Angie's List, I wanted to give the business to Cooling Unlimited because they had been so accommodating, and easy and pleasant to deal. The service man arrived a little early. I believe I may have received a call asking if that would be okay. He checked the furnace over and replaced the filter, left the old filter in the box the new filter we provided him came in, and left the work area clean. He also answered my questions about how much the special Aprilaire filter would have cost if he had provided it ($86 versus the three for $100 price we paid online for three filters a few years ago), and about how often I needed to have the furnace looked.

Good service, thorough, explained what was done

Their quote was competitive. I think they would have been a fine company if I had engaged them but another provider recommended their own contractors. There were some advantages in going over the contractors of the other provider and that's why I went to one of those people who quoted a similar price. They were a good company and they were very professional.

We woke up on Fri 1/18 with no heat. I immediately went to Angie's list for referrals. Called Cooling Unltd and they sent a tech, Leo, out that day. We had a bevy of issues, the worst being a part that the tech didn't have. He had to wait until Tue. (Mon. was a holiday here). He returned Tue morning (made us his first call of the day), cleaned and serviced the furnace, went to get part then back, and was only here a couple of hours. Leo was friendly, proficient at his job and told us to have the furnace serviced at least once a year. The cost was a bit high, but the service was excellent. They lived up to their A+ score.

Received a number of estimates for the gas conversion but chose Cooling Unlimited as they had the most reasonable price, in addition to high ratings on Angie's list, BBB and other sources. Salesman and other staff were easy to deal with, however, getting in touch with them was a little difficult. Had to contact them a few times. The conversion team showed up on time and everything went according to plan. Installed new boiler, new pipes and flushed radiators. Removed old boiler and materials. Clean up was excellent. However, still waiting for gas inspection.

They were great. They were wonderful and I would use them again. They were professional and courteous and got the job done.

I've used Cooling Unlimited before at my last house. These guys are the best! I recently moved and had a heat pump system installed as part of the MassSave HEAT Loan program. Dennis, the owner, came out to give me an estimate and scheduled the work. A crew of two guys showed up and worked all day (they didn't leave until almost 7pm!). They ensured everything was done right, tested, and walked me through all I needed to know. Very professional and courteous. Dennis even stopped by at one point to check the job out, answer some questions, and run some ideas by me. I would highly recommend this company. Oh, and they left the house spotless.

They do my annual A/C and heating servicing. Always come when scheduled, and seem to know what they're doing (haven't had any problems with the units they have worked on).

A quick and professional installation.

I told most of the story above. I don't think I would wait 2 wks to receive a quote that was promised in a week. Also, I would ask each contractor (plumber, electrician) to show me what they did to make sure. As it was, I relied on the Cooling Unlimited person to explain what was done & to show me. Otherwise, at this time I don't think I would do anything much different.. 't

The job had some special challenges. The installer took the time to come up with an excellent solution. After the job was complete, there were a couple of minor problems which were quickly rectified.

I have waited to write this review because I wanted to give a higher rating but I have given up waiting. I contacted Cooling Unlimited to install high-velocity AC in our home (a triple decker in South Boston built in 1890). Overall the experience with planning the project was good. The installation looked good. When we started using the unit in May we had an issue with rapid cycling that made the system unusable. They came out to adjust but it made no difference. Then they told us we were running it when it was too cold out so it was freezing up. It kept happening as it got warmer. They then told us we had to spend another ~$1000 for a 'low ambient kit'. This made no sense to me. Many homes in South Boston have AC and I doubt any have a 'low ambient kit'. This meant we had no AC for several weeks. After some time Cooling Unlimited realized there was an error in how they were setting up UNICO Green System AC units. They came and adjusted and it worked fine (and we did not need to spend the extra $1000). After that we were pretty happy with the result. Overall I would have rated an A for the quality of work and a B for service because of the issue above; however, there was an issue with the permit. At the beginning I told all of the contractors (Capital Construction for roof work and carpentry, Cooling Unlimited for AC work) that I wanted permits for the work. Capital Construction provided a permit on day one of the work. Cooling Unlimited never did. I have reached out to them 6-7 times and each time they say they will provide the permits. But now that I have paid the bill they have not done it and it has been over 7 months since the work was completed. I have waited to write this review in the hopes they would get it to me and I could say nice things. But I am tired of waiting and now will just call the city to report them.

Overall, the installation was done well. Some oddities, however. First unit was placed on the ground (not elevated). Furnace room also houses a water heater, so if there is a water leak, the unit could get damaged. Also, the flue pipe (around 400 deg. when the unit is running), runs in the front of the unit at around 4-5' above the ground an extends into an area way where someone could come in contact with the pipe and get burned. Company has refused to insulate the flue pipe as it is not in a normally occupied area (I will have to hire another company to do this). Also, automatic humidifier was installed without an outdoor reset sensor that is suppose to avoid the unit over-humidifying the space during colder weather. In current discussion with company's office about resolving this (salesperson has not responded to my inquiry). Company also has not provided a counter-signed contract after repeated requests.

Cooling Unlimited did not follow through. I had two different technicians to my home - one for an estimate and the other to fix a problem with a non-working vent. There was a scheduling problem with the man coming to my house for the estimate, but he did call in advance to reschedule. After his visit, he promised that he would send me an estimate in a few days. The technician who came out to fix the problem spent about an hour looking into the issue, and determined that he was not able to fix it at the time. I was required to write him a $200 check for his visit. He said that he would take the problem back to the engineers, and that they would send me a proposal to fix the problem. Both promised to get estimates to me in a few days. It has been over a month, and I have not received any follow up emails or estimates. As a result, I have nothing to show for my $200.

Everything went well. Their quote was the most reasonable.

We had a representative from Cooling Unlimited come to our new home to give us an estimate on replacing our boiler and installing ductless air conditioning. We were told we would receive an estimate within 3 days. More than 2 weeks after the representative came out, we have not received an estimate. I have followed up 3 times by email, cell phone, and office phone and have not received any response. I can only assume the company doesn't have an interest in doing the work, but the lack of return email/phone calls is surprising and disappointing for a company rated so highly on Angie's List.

On the day of installation contractor had family issue and couldn't come. But the owner was nice enough and marked out best possible time for next week, plus accommodated me with discount did great job installs.

Dennis and his team were awesome. Worked hard, got the job done before the cold weather (Mother Nature helped last year, too!). The price was high, but well worth it. Quality job. You get what you pay for, and we got a great product! My only complaint was getting filters for the system. It took months to get them. But, I finally did get them, so, the problem was solved.

Sales representative very knowledgable about product. Day of installation arrived on time. Completed the job in one day. Also, cleaned up after installation.

We called cooling unlimited on Sunday the hottest weekend we had to date. Our central AC broke down completely. Cooling unlimited came out on that Sunday within one hour. Great service repaired in 1 HR.

I liked that he continually explained what he was doing and told me what the issues were. It was all done with a good sense of honesty and patience in my opinion. The price was 190 for the emergency diagnosis and 90 for extras (which I hope is the fixing part). I then applied a $20 coupon from Angies list. All in all, not cheap, but I somewhat OK with it since it was a weekend and I thought he did a good job.
