I dealt with Jeremy Woodsmall of Solar Installation Co Limited who visited my home and perfored a site assement. He quickly identified areas in my yard which could have ground mounted solar panels located and he develpoed a cost benefit analysis which he delived within a day. Due to some new zoning ordinances regrading ground mount systems I opted for a flush mount roof mount system. Jeremy's cost benefit analysis also allowed me to optimize the value of a rebate program offered by my electric utility. The system is estimated to pay for itself in about 5 years. The designers at Solar Installation Limited came up with a slick little system of micro inverters. Basically each panel has a tiny inverter to make AC power. This allows each panel to operate at its best efficiency even if part of the roof is shaded. I gave the go ahead at the begining of September and the system was installed in a day on 15Nov 2010.. The reason for the couple of months delay was I had to have a tree which was blocking the sun removed and replace the roof. Add a couple of weeks of bad weather and you can see where the better part of sixty days can go. Otherwise installion is a very quick process which took 1 day to mount and wire the panels. Solar Installation Limited provided turn key service performing design, installation and filing of all paper work. They filed for the rebate and net metering agreement with my electric utility, applied for all building permits, registered my system for SREC credits and coordinated the final system inspection with the town.
