After installing new door lock. He turned on washer to make sure it was now working; it was. He gave me advice to try to avoid the problems from happening too soon (don't overload which increases pressure on door). Said part guaranteed for year. The cost was $230.00. I had purchased a (I think called a ticket) for $55.00 which covered the initial diagnosis.

I had originally bought an Angie's Deal from Affordable Appliance on Sat. June 28th that evening when I found my washer wasn't working. Richie the owner e-mailed me back almost immediately and through e-mailing back and forth I was able to have someone come to the house to look at the problem Monday the 30th. Jeff who came to the house was fantastic; Richie was responsive by e-mail and phone calls when I had a couple of questions. It was a very positive experience!! They are extremely professional; I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends!!

Took less than 30 minutes and a greater price.

We used Affordable Appliance for an ice maker installation and dishwasher repair. $80.00 for dishwasher repair with some improvement - no problem Problem # 1 - communication I called several times always got an answering service that said someone would get back to me in an hour - multiple calls were required to get a response. Problem # 2- ice maker installation $445.00 Although on a previous call I had expressed I wanted an icemaker and gave brand and model #- on first visit they arrived without icemaker and needed follow up appointment for installation. Ice maker installed on second appointment - no ice after 48 hours called back , several calls , phone suggestions and another appointment was told my freezer was not cold enough to make ice. I questioned that if that had been the case why would they install icemaker? Final outcome - they removed the icemaker they installed and reimbursed me $125.00 for the price of the ice maker. Soo I spent $325.00 for labor to put in an icemaker that was removed ( total was $445 minus the $125.00 refund) because They did not ascertain that my freezer was not cold enough before installation. Although I too did not recognize any problems with freezer before this. Certainly as appliance repair they should have ascertained this before installing ice maker. When they came to house for appointments they were always professional and courteous and even made some suggestions. I recognize that they offered immediately to provide a refund on icemaker and there was no dissension . The icemaker installation was an epic fail- however they tried to make it right so for that reason I will give them a C grade..

The freezer in our basement was not cold enough. Affordable Appliance diagnosed the problem that the basement temperature was too cold. The temperature must be at least 60*F for the compressor to run. When the basement temp was increased to 60*F then the freezer worked.

I called on the morning of a Friday of a long weekend and was told a technician would get back to me shortly. I heard nothing, even though I was home all day. I figured that it was a long weekend and called the following Tuesday and was told the technician, now given a name, would get back to me. Never did. I called another group, also reviewed, the next day to much better results.

I called them in the morning and they said the on call would call me back with in thirty minutes. After two hours I called them back and they said the same thing. Person never called.

I called Affordable Appliance on October 30th regarding a repair to my built-in microwave. The person who answered the phone took all the information and said someone would call me back within 1/2 hour. Well, today is November 1st and I still have not heard from them . . . so I called trusty old Sears and they will be here next week. I'm not sure why they have an "A" rating with Angie's list. It's hard to believe that I am the only one who has had this problem with this company. From your ads, I thought I could count on Angie's list--sometimes yes, sometimes no, I guess.

He checked the wash cycle, the rinse/spin cycle, underneath with a light for a leak, and opened the pump and checked the soap dispenser for build up.

My refrigerator was not working on the hottest day of the year!! I called Affordable Appliance's service line - left my name and issue and received a callback from Rich within 10 minutes - he had other appointments scheduled, but gave me a timeframe of about 1:00 pm. Rich called before coming and was on time. Rich was very professional, courteous, and knew what he was doing. He diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I needed a new refrigerator. I would definitely use Affordable Appliance again and would without hesitation, recommend this service to any of my family and friends.

We saw his ad in the monthly magazine that is sent to members. It indicated Angie List members would receive a 5% discount. We callled on 7/5/13 to identify our problem as our gas oven was not holding internal oven temperature. My wife had tried twice in the previous few days to use the oven to bake cookies and to cook dinner. Both times the oven reached the temperature she set but then the oven began to cool down. We set up an appointment for Wednesday 7/10/13. The Technician called back after we booked the appointment to get the model # of the stove. He arrived @ approximately 10:30 AM after calling to tell us he was on his way. He took part of the stove apart and after about ten minutes he told us he was done. He identified the problem as a bad oven igniter and replaced with a new part. He ran the oven and told us to let it get to temperature of 350 degrees and once it reached that number to shut off the stove. He said that with the new igniter the internal set temperature would remain constant. We have used the oven several times since the new part was installed and have had no problems.

I called Affordable Appliance in Randolph and explained that I latched the oven door to self-clean and apparently tried to open it (after self-cleaning cycle was complete) while it was still warm. Door lock "jammed" and I am unable to open the oven door! Was told I would get a call within 1/2 hour........5 minutes later Richie called me! I explained my situation and was sure I had damaged the "locking" mechanism on the oven. He assured me I had not. He walked me through it and told me what to do and BINGO! the oven door latch worked and theoven was open! THANK YOU Richie! I thought I would be looking at a repair wait time and then an added expense for parts, labor, etc. It's refreshing to find an honest repair person. Dishwasher repair: 12/23 one of my dishwasher doors refused to open (with my Cuisinart parts inside, and 100 guests expected for Christmas Eve)! 24/7 service refers to their answering service, not actual service. The first tech to respond didn't actually do anything - was just looking the situation over, despite the fact that I had given explicit instructions as to the make, model, exact part needed, etc. The second tech showed up a few days later, effectively fixed the broken door, balance the machine because the door was not properly aligned, which probably caused the part to break in the first place. So far, so good. However, a couple of days later it became apparent that the soap dispenser was not opening. I called and explained that the wiring to the soap dispenser apparently had not gotten re-connected when the latching mechanism was replaced, and the door put back together. They did send a tech back to fix it, but they charged me for an additional $100.00 as though it was a new issue!

My refrigerator stopped working. They came out, diagnosed the problem (needed a new thermostat), and then came back a couple days later and made the repair. They were responsive, fairly quick, and the price seemed very reasonable to me, both the cost for the diagnostic visit and the final repair cost. Much cheaper than a new refrigerator!

Jeff was prompt and quick with his diagnosis and repair. My calls were returned promptly and the service was professional. I would definitely do business with Affordable Appliance in the future.

As relatively new homeowners we were freaked out when our 5 year old washing machine made a horrific noise. We checked Angie's list can called Affordable Appliance. Roy came within a few hours and quickly assessed the situation which was a broken transmission. He gave us an honest opinion on whether the repair were worth pursuing, and tips on how we could improve our washing machine drainage situation. He also took a look at our ice maker in our fridge which has never worked properly since we purchased it five years ago. (once again clueless new homeowners). He showed us how it was never installed properly and the part which was missing. He told us how to get the missing part and offered to follow up with Frigidaire directly if we were not successful. Once again he went above and beyond to help us and we are definitely going to use their services again!

It was quick and painless. The repairman was great!

I called late Monday morning and he came at 3:30pm and was done by 4pm! I was doing laundry same day I called. Professional, polite, punctual, perfect!

My washing machine just stopped working one day, and we had no idea what the problem was. We called affordable and they were very flexible for scheduling because of our busy schedule. They were there on time, Rich said it was the cover and some other parts that needed to be replaced. He had the parts in the truck and was out of the house in 20 minutes.

A technician came out and moved the refrigerator. He was unsure of what was leaking and may have inadvertently made the problem worse. When I tried to question his work, he was very defensive and not helpful. I followed this up with a phone call to the company. They sent out Kevin who was terrific. He was highly professional and spent a lot of time diagnosing a complex problem. After we had the necessary plumbing fixed by a plumber, Kevin returned and expertly completed the repair.

They were wonderful! They were punctual and they answered my call quickly and were out within a couple hours. I would use them again in the future.

Our front loading washing machine quit working and the service man came out identified the problem. The service man came out the same day as the call was placed. A recommendation was made as to what brand appliance we should purchase in the future. Overall we were very happy with the prompt service call and his professionalism. He did not try direct us to any specific stores for replacing the product. He made a recommendation based on personal experience, which we appreciated. Great service for a reasonable price. They came and did the work and my dryer is now working.

I have a built in microwave that started to fail (took too long to cook). Since replacing it would be extremely expensive, I took a chance and ordered a new magnatron online, figuring I could find someone to install it for me. That turned out to be a challenge. Most places only serviced certain brands, or they would only service if you bought the part from them. After trying 8 or 10 highly-rated businesses, I called Affordable. They had someone in the area, so the service guy (Jeff) was there in an hour. He replaced the part. Unfortunately, I had guessed wrong about the problem (it still didn't work after the part was replaced), but they had done what I asked with no nonsense, so I'm very satisfied. Their rates are very good compared to most other businesses. I recommend them.
