Things started out well enough. Then he started being in sporadic contact: "I lost my phone" or "Sorry, my batteries went flat" or "I was sick" etc. etc. Super, super stressful being in the middle of a job, where only this guy understands what has been done, only to have him go dark. Then we noticed an odd work pattern: he would show up late in the afternoon and work until late in the evening -- took us a while to figure out that he was moonlighting as he worked by day for another company and this was just side work. The town wiring inspector came by several times, and was very dubious about Robison's work. Inspector opined to me that JR must not understand the building code, because basic things were simply done in nonsensical ways, with wire runs looping all over the place. Robison had stapled several wires in the basement across/perpendicular to open joists, which is a basic code violation that should have tipped us off that the guy just wasn't in his element. The insides of the breaker panel looked like a rat's nest. Now, to his credit, Robison's work did pass final inspection. We paid him -- an extraordinarily high amount for the work (no invoice was presented, he just verbally gave us a number based on his hours and some supplies) -- and then he simply disappeared into thin air. This was a real downer, and there was no reason for it. We were never rude or disrespectful or difficult with the guy. He's just a flake. The bummer was, after we moved in, bad things began to happen. Two circuits in the house suddenly went dark and we could not figure out what was what. Tried and tried and tried to reach Robison (email/text/phone) but no answer. Called another electrician, fortunately highly professional. He was stumped at how Robison's work had passed code. (Attached is a pic of the new guy sorting out Robison's mess of wires inside out electrical panel.) Turned out that what Robison had done was create those two circuits with "stacked" GFCI's, and they kept turning each other off. The new guy sorted out the problems with those circuits, and rearranged the panel layout so as to be neat and professional. At the end of the day, we had to pay twice for this work and I would have expected anyone who was halfway professional to stand behind their work enough to accept a phone call two weeks after it was completed. I mean, for heaven's sakes. In sum: nice guy, but highly disorganized, apparent iffy understanding of building codes, and absolutely zero follow-through or accepting responsibility for mistakes. I would clearly recommend finding a different electrician. This guy is a very nice chap, but is a far cry from a reliable, organized pro.
Description of Work: We hired Jeffrey Robison to do some rough electrical work, then finish electrical work, as we neared the end of a renovation.

We reached out to Robison Electric based on a recommendation from a friend. We left a voicemail, and were contacted by Jeff the same day. Jeff was very professional when calling back, and was flexible about scheduling time after we explained the work requested. 4 days later, Jeff was at our house 15 minutes before our scheduled time. We let Jeff in to set up while an HVAC professional worked on the water heater. Within an hour and a half, the work was completed. One thing we definitely appreciated about the experience was that you couldn't even tell that Jeff had been to our house once the work was completed. His work was extremely clean and left no signs of running wires (as we had seen with other electrical work...) in our finished basement. We would recommend Robison Electric to anyone based on our experience for their professionalism and punctuality.
Description of Work: Wired our new water heater to the circuit breaker.

I couldn't have asked for a better electrician experience. Jeff (the owner) was extremely courteous and timely with all communication and work. He explained the pros and cons of all options that I was thinking and also gave recommendations on certain products that he felt would work best in my situation (I am glad I listened because his recommendations were spot on). His work was very professional and he was in and out quick with all work done correct. It was also helpful that Jeff had the necessary skills to get my tv mounted on my fireplace and run the cable/electrical wires from one side of the room to the other through my ceiling without putting holes everywhere that would need to be patched. I can't recommend Robison Electric enough.
Description of Work: I was finishing my basement and needed an electrician to replace existing over head lighting with new LED can lights, run new wiring, install new decora switches and outlets, and to install my tv over a brick fireplace (run cable and electrical lines).
