I have been wanting to get rid of the carpet in my two bedrooms for awhile now and was finally able to! Phil was very reliable and always responded in a timely manner - he was easy to work with and very friendly. The entire process took about 6 days - 3 days for work and then 3 days to let the wood dry. The carpet was removed in two bedrooms and then hardwood was installed to match the rest of the apartment, the result is fantastic! It was a quick turn around and I LOVE my new floors!! I would definitely recommend working with Phil and his team - decent prices for the cost of two bedrooms and great results!! Thanks Phil! :)

Phil was absolutely great to work with. His wife handles his emails and setting up appointments, and she is great and super on top of things. Phil came to my house, looked over the work to be done, and provided me with a quote (which was exactly what we wound up paying). His price was fair and in line with other quotes we received, and he was prompt, friendly and available by phone, email and text. Phil checked int he evening before work was to begin, and on the following morning, his men showed up on time. Phil came by to check in with them during the day. The work was completed on time (which was very important for us, as we were on a tight moving schedule), and our old floors now look almost new! I would definitely work with Phil again should we have need.

Phil did a great job. He was punctual and very efficient. Everything was cleaned up at the end and the floors looked perfect. He even filled in some minor holes that were left from the previous owner.

Phil gave us an expert review of our new home's floors and gave great advice for refinishing them. We had to give him a very tight timeline in-between a full interior paint job and our move-in date, and Phil's crew nailed it. They even finished the floors about 48 hours earlier than expected, working through a weekend to get the job done. Phil and his team are extremely responsive and will call you back promptly (or email you) to schedule a convenient time to provide estimates and begin work. His crew is extremely efficient and business-like, and exhibited great care for our home. Not only did the floors look brand-new when they were done, but the entire area was clean and dust-free. Another contractor who saw the work while providing a different estimate was extremely impressed and said he rarely sees floor crews take such care around steps, molding, and floor boards. We also had oak floors in the kitchen that we were considering ripping out to put tile in. The boards looked water-damaged and past their usable life -- but we decided to let Phil's crew try to refinish them anyway. It was the best decision of our renovations: the floor now looks great and we saved ourselves thousands of dollars in installation for a new floor, not to mention getting years of additional use out of the existing floor. The price was very competitive, and you'll get a written estimate.

Phil did a great job. He is highly skilled at repairing hardwoods - fixed a warped area, made thresholds and trim - a beautiful job. He was very accommodating when we had the surprise of asbestos tiles underneath some carpet in the home we had just bought right as he was starting his work and so he came back immediately after we had it removed to complete the job. He really worked to make the schedule work for us. As well he was willing to use a new product to stain the floors, was very open to it, learned about it and the floors turned out great. He is very professional with excellent customer service. Kept in very close touch throughout and was always available. We have no hesitation in recommending Phil and plan to ask him to do more work for us in the future.

Phil got back to me right away and he and his workers were all fabulous. The place was clean when I go back and very little dust. All scratches and gaps in my flooring were gone! They look brand new!

Excellent job in a very tricky old house. Amazing results

I called to inquire about getting a quote for getting hardwood on my stairs. I was asked if I would need anything else done to which I said I was just looking to get the stairs done. I was told that they would not take the job if it was only the stairs. The reason I was given was because Phil has a crew that works for him and in order to take a job there must be work for all of them to do. I called this business because they had numerous positive reviews. They are obviously selective about there jobs. It raises a red flag to me that a business would refuse a job.

Phil was a wonderful to work with in every respect. I spoke to him on a Saturday morning and he accomodated my schedule by meeting me that evening to look at my floors. I got a quote the following day. I hired him after firming up a date. He was responsive to my email inquiries and not only showed up on time, but his workmanship and attention to detail is admirable.

Where to begin...Phil showed up for the estimate the same day I contacted him. He noticed a number of stains in the floor and suggested stain colors. He made the process super easy, telling me that I only need to pick the stain color and polyurethane sheen (gloss, semi-gloss, etc..) and that's it. He kept his word. The proposal process was painless, his prices were reasonable for a dustless sanding system (only minor dust was left). He emailed the proposal within a day of visiting and was in contact during the 2 weeks in between my agreement and showing up. After I moved my furniture out Phil provides a reference to help with the process) his team was ready. They were punctual and started sanding within 5 minutes of arriving. The 4 man crew was spotless, vacuuming with HEPA filters while others sanded. Sanding took about 7 hours. The following day they arrived early and applied the stain followed in the afternoon by the 1st coat of poly. 2 days later was the 2nd (final) coat of poly. The floor looks amazing, no more blemishes, caked on paint chips, mismatched stains...it is beautiful. Phil called me a few days after to make sure I was happy and sang his praise. I would definitely use the crew again and highly recommend them.

It went great. They were in when they said they would be, and out earlier then they said. They did a lot more than I figured: many of the boards had large gaps. One bidder said they "added character". Phils Flooring actually filled most all of them, certainly in the areas that are most visible. Excellent quality polyurethane, many nice comments from people seeing the floors, especially those that saw them before work was done.

The team was great and prompt. Starting from the emails, the consult, and all the way till completion on the third day. The office was great about sending emails and setting up when supplies could be delivered. On the start date (all three days) the team was here on time and effectively ripped seven layers of flooring out before noon! I have lived through a lot of constructions and they did a great job! They laid a cloth path so not to track in dirt and covered doorways with plastic to help keep my clean up to a minimium (please be reasonable when thinking it will be perfect afterwards? there is always dust and such but they really made an effort and kept it easy for me).

Phil was awesome. He was efficient, professional and amazingly talented. He completed the job in 4 days and the results are flawless.

Phil is a great guy. He is punctual, informative and thorough. He is very knowledgeable easy to work with. Him and his crew were always on time from beginning to end. My floors came out looking incredible and I'd absolutely recommend Phil. He also goes above and beyond to point out areas of concern and how he can help. For example, the front door had been rubbing against the wood and had significant marks on the floor. We did not discuss this at our initial meeting or during his work. When the floors were finished Phil told me he noticed that the door was causing this and he had adjusted the hinges so it wouldn't do that going forward. I very much appreciated that attention to detail and him going above and beyond to help me out. I will use him again whenever I need a similar type of service.

Herb and his helper arrived on time and went right to work. The job took two days which he said it would. I'm a seventy year old lady and I was very nervous the work was going to be over-whelming for me. But Herb moved all the furniture, fixed my fifty year old mirror and bed that fell apart when he moved it. All I had to do was remove lamps, clothes and small items around the rooms. The floors are beautiful. Happy I decided to have the work done.

It went extremely well. Floors came out looking great and no dust in the house! Phil used a water-based poly as per our request so the odor was minimal and totally gone within 24 hours.

It went extremely well. Everything Phil said he would do he did. The floors were in pretty bad shape. There had been wall to wall carpeting when we bought the house and when we pulled up the carpet there were all sorts of water and pet stains. The results were far beyond my expectations. I felt anything would be an improvement and was totally surprised as to how beautiful the floors came out. The contractor also clean up completely and didn't leave any debris or wood dust behind. I can't express enough how satisfied I am with the job that was done.

Phil was so professional and prompt. He came in while my family and I were pulling up carpets and painting etc. It was a busy day when he came to do the estimate. He looked through the house, took some measurements and on the spot provided an estimated cost (which never changed). He even provided an Angies List Discount! Within 2 days he was there to start the job and came back 2 more times for the addtional coats. He had the job complete as he said he would and in perfect condition. There was no mess (my house was emp[ty). And other than Phil letting me know that he was done and I could walk on the floors there was nothing else he needed to call me for. He was even nice enough to let me send him half the payment a few weeks later via mail. Great guy and amazing workers. I would use them again in a heartbeat! Because of such the great job he did, I actually took many pictures to share with friends and family so they could use him as well in the future. I have a Before and After book, it's amazing the transformation that took place from having these floors finished and now they are gleaming.

I used Phil's Floor services in October of 2013 and they did an amazing job then so I knew I would use Phil again to install my new kitchen floor. Phil returned my phone call right away and came to my house within a couple of days to give me an estimate. His price was excellent. He was able to work around my schedule, which was much appreciated. The work Phil's Floor Services does is truly incredible. I have received many compliments on my floors so thank you Phil! A+++++ - I would highly recommend Phil and would use him again!

Once we finally decided on a convenient date, he was very punctual and professional. His workers were through, neat, and cleaned up very well after themselves. They were very professional at containing the dust to the work areas. I was very pleased with the results, my floors are gorgeous!

We are delighted with the job Phil did!!! We hired Phil because, after we removed the carpet covering the hardwood floor in our den, we discovered that a portion of floor had ugly glue residue from a prior linoleum covering. We also needed some kind of strip to bridge the gap between the den and the kitchen floor. Phil's team arrived exactly on time, set to work promptly and professionally, and did an incredible job! They covered the interior doorway from the room to contain the dust before sanding, so no mess escaped the immediate project area. They sanded the floors, and they also crafted a handmade wooden border to cover the gap between the den and kitchen floor. After sanding, they refinished the floor carefully and in a way that highlighted the floor's natural wood beauty. The entire job was performed over two days (with the sanding, border installation, and first coat(s) of polyurethane done on the first day, and the final coat done several days later, after the earlier work had dried. We could not be more satisfied with the result! Our den looks radiant! Thanks to Phil and his staff, the den is now our favorite room in the house. In fact, it looks so great, we are now contemplating hiring Phil in the future to refinish the hardwood flooring in other areas of our home. Thank you, Phil and your team, for this incredible job! Phi'ls crew did wonderful work making even my mediocre job laying the floor look great. Because they were finishing a kitchen floor they quoted me a price for an additional (third) coat of polyurethane. Phil scheduled his crew around other contractors I had working in the kitchen and around my own work nailing up and painting trim.

His workers were efficient and left hardly a sign they had been there.
