Phil is the BEST! He completed a major project in less than 5 days, in the exact time frame that we requested. We even added a small job (removing some tiles and putting down floor in its place). We needed to have the work done in a fast time frame in order to move in on time, and he delivered. His guys even stayed until nearly midnight on a Saturday putting down an extra coat of poly. Above and beyond what was expected! His work is professional, neat and high-end. He wasn't the lowest bid, but he was far from the highest, and his quote was very fair. HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING PHIL!

Phil came by to give us an estimate just as planned. The woman who works in the office was so helpful and explained the entire refinishing process to me. They came and refiished the floors when we were out of town for the holiday. Phil even called after we returned from our trip to find out if we were satisfied. I would definately hire them again. They are punctual and professional. They made our move into a new home a very smooth transitition.

My daughter recently bought a condo in Needham. We wanted to remove the wall to wall in the bedrooms and hallway and refinish the first floor living area. In addition we needed to install a new staircase that had been covered in carpet. Phil came out promptly on the day we closed and I explained what we wanted done. I found him to be prompt and Very polite. The next day we had our estimate. We were supplying the pre finished flooring so his estimate seemed reasonable. We had selected a very dark pre finished floor so we asked Phil to match the new stairs and the previously finished living area to the dark color. No small fete. I have to say the finished product is outstanding! Phil did a beautiful job. Everything from matching the color to painting the trim to the final finish , we love it. But best of all he left the place so clean. You would never know that sanding had taken place. So I just have to say his price was competitive, he is on time, he communicates promptly, leaves the place very clean, and truly does outstanding, beautiful work. We couldn't be more pleased.i wish I knew how to include pictures because they tell the story best.

I think he gave me good professional advise. Basically I was happy with the experience. He did a great job and I did a lot of research before I selected him. There is some kind of debate about the "dustless" technique, but there is definitely dust but you have to look for it. I found some dust on the baseboard heaters and over the tops of the doors and I found dust on the walls themselves but it is a very light coating. Overall, I understand why people say there is no dust because you really have to look for it to find it. They did a great job making sure they didn't damage the baseboard or anything while they working. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Phil returned my phone call quickly and made an appointment to come out and give us an estimate on the work needed. He met me in the evening to accomodate me I was on a tight schedule as I wanted the floors refinished before I moved into the house and Phil was able to meet my demands. Phils Floors did an absolutely amazing job refinishing the old, beat up hardwood floors on my first floor and installed new oak hardwood floors on my second floor. I was in awe of the finished product - beautiful! I have received many compliments on the floors. Phil's price was very affordable and his work was meticulous. I would highly reommend Phils Floor Services and I wlll be calling him soon when I remodel my kitchen and want hardwood floors installed. The best of the best!

Phil was awesome! I had some serious water damage on my hard wood floors that caused some boards to buckle. I was told by others that the boards would have to be replaced. Phil told me they didn't need to be replaced and he could make them look like new. I doubted him but gave him the job anyway since he was the professional. When I saw the floor finished I couldn't believe it was the same floor and Phil was right, the boards didn't need to be replaced. The floor looks brand new and is level. Phil's price was VERY reasonable and I have him coming back to do two more rooms. Phil was very neat, did a great cleanup job. Phil is also a good guy and easy to work with. Phil's hardwood floor service is highly recommended by this satisfied customer.

We were very impressed with our dealings with Phil. We enjoyed working with him and were impressed with the results. He is hard working and very responsive. Our only complaint is that he doesn't do a large sample of color prior to doing the whole house. We ended up not liking the stain and had to redo alot of it. Not his fault at all, but would be helpful to see a sample. However, the final result is truly beautiful and flawless - very hard to do with some much flooring.

I scheduled a hardwood installation appointment for a Sunday, between 2:45 and 3:15 pm. I called at 3 pm to make sure everything was still going according to plan and was assured that Phil was on his way. I called again at 3:45, as there was still no sign of Phil. He called me right back, apologized and said that he will be there in 40 minutes. I reminded him that this was a house we still haven't closed on and that we were waiting there with the homeowner and our broker (the office knew about this from the beginning) and that I could not ask them to wait another 40 minutes. While everyone I spoke to was courteous, being over an hour late is unacceptable and I did not reschedule.

They are excellent. I would recommend them to anybody needing the same work done.

Wonderful work!!! He did all this work in a weekend, start to finish. The floors came out beautifully and the new wood matched the old wood so perfectly, you couldn't even tell the difference. Clean-up was terrific and even the fumes were quite minimal. His crew left no mess anywhere else in the house. Aside from the beautiful job and the few coffee cups in our trash you would never know they were there! My only regret is that I didn't have him do the kickbacks of the stairs as well! Phil was very pleasant and professional and accomodating. He was on time and his pricing was extremely competetive and very fair. He even came down to grab some of the old floor boards that we couldn't dispose of ourselves after the job was done. Great guy. Highly HIGHLY recommend him.

The floors looked better than they did brand new. Phil did an amazing job and his attention to detail makes all of the difference.

Phil came out on very short notice and took care of our floors before our move date. They turned out beautiful!

This is the second time I've used Phil. He is awesome. The work quality is incredible. Floors were badly beaten my a big dog and people who wear shoes inside all the time. About 400 sq foot of area. Phil came in, assessed the situation, made some good recommendations (gave me options on what could be done and related costs) and banged the work out. I recommend him to all my friends. Go Phil!!

Phil was great to work with, punctual, and professional. The floors look beautiful and there was virtually no dust left any where in the house when they were finished. Our satisfaction was Phil's priority and my husband and I had some questions regarding the one replaced step and Phil made adjustments and was sure to finish the job to our satisfaction. I called Phil who called me right back. He was great to work with through the estimate, coming out and providing a free estimate when it was convenient for me to do so. He was great about scheduling the work which was done soon and when it was convenient for me. The floors look fantastic. I am extremely pleased with how they look and was absolutely shocked at the extremely small amount of dust that we needed to clean up. Not only was the work fantastic and Phil and crew great to work with, but I thought the price was very reasonable. He came in exactly where the estimate said it would come in and I have already recommended his services to friends.

I called Phil to give me a quotation on hardwood floors before putting my house in the market. Of the 4 companies I contacted he was the most professional. Came when he said he would and provided the quote when he said he would. His price was reasonable and he was clear on what he would do and when he could do it. I ended up not doing the work deciding to offer buyers a credit for the floors so they could choose what they wanted. I plan to give them his quote and sample and recommend him for the work.

I called Phil and he called me right back that evening. We discussed at length whether it made more sense to refinish the floor vs. polish the hardwood, and I ultimately decided for long-term maintenance to refinish the floor. I had forgotten that the previous owners had stained the floor a dark stain, so when Phil showed up, he immediately pointed out that it was likely that dark stain would be taken off by the refinishing. I was a little nervous but it turned out beautiful. He also mentioned that refinishing the upstairs hallway would've resulted in too much contrast in color between that and the stairs (which I was not having refinished since it would've entailed removing the carpet rugs on the steps). I appreciated that he anticipated this being an issue and voicing it appropriately. The price can't be beat either - he even applied an Angie's list discount on my behalf when he learned that's how I got a hold of his name. I was also very nervous that this job would leave a lot of fine dust everywhere, but Phil worked very cleanly. I did not need to clean the floors after he left, and even other surfaces in the house were not victim to a lot of fine dust. Realistically though, one should definitely expect a little bit of dust from this project. Finally, I'll also add that Phil and his team were extremely trustworthy and I felt perfectly comfortable leaving them to work while I was at the office. He even locked up behind himself when he left each day, even though he knew I'd be back in the evening to lock up.

Phil was a pleasure to work with, and the floors look beautiful. Phil was very punctual and professional. The only problem we had was with the movers that Phil recommended. They did a so-so job and overcharged us. We would not use them again. Find your own movers. Phil's prices seemed a bit higher for us than for others on Angie's List. I will, however, have Phil do the rest of the floors in our house, because his work is truly excellent. I love seeing these high gloss hardwood floors everyday. They look gorgeous.

I called Phil one evening and left a message for him to call me back. He called back that same evening and we set up an appointment at the house so he could review the job and issue a quote. Phil got back to me with a quote via email within the week. He included $150 off with Angie's list coupon. We scheduled the work to be done during the last week of January. Phil and his crew arrived as promised at 7:30am sharp and got right to work. The whole job took about three days and the floors look absolutely beautiful (like brand new). And the kitchen looks so unique having oak floors instead of new linoleum or tile. Phil's crew was extremely neat and cleaned up everything. My only regret is that I wished I had taken pictures of the before and after look. I will definitely use Phil's Floor Services on future jobs.
