Excellent experience. On all three visits (1 do give an estimate, 2 to do the patches, 3 to paint the dried patches), Gary and his assistant showed up on schedule, and executed the work efficiently. The result was first rate. I was completely satisfied.

I had used Gary before, so I knew he does good quality work. He will tell you exactly what he will do (carpentry) or wont do (painting), this way at the end of the job you get what was agreed upon. You wont get a surprise bill at the end of the contract unless you ask for more work, which he will clearly explain. He put in 3 doors, laid round floor molding and fixed several other items over 2.5 days.

Description of Work: Security door installation. Job was done perfectly. It was an all day project and works as it should! They worked with a door that was already ordered and were the only carpentry group I contacted who would work with a pre-ordered piece. Thanks Gary!

Gary did a great job tearing down our old 3 season porch and building a new open porch. Based on some rough renderings we had put together, Gary gave me a quote and a timeline. He stuck to both perfectly and he was responsive throughout that entire process. Gary understood exactly what we were trying to accomplish, and he worked with us to keep the project affordable - saving the old roof and identify workarounds as needed so our project could come in on budget. I?ve worked with many other contractors and it?s clear that many of them will do the absolute minimum just to get the job done and be paid. Gary on the other hand, takes pride in his work. The completed porch looks great!

Gary was the highest of three estimates we got, but we ended up going with him because he seemed to be the most professional and knowledgeable of the three. We had also asked him to replace the glass in a broken plate glass window and to secure the carpet on the stairs to our basement, but he said that we should use a glass company to do the glass because he probably wouldn't be able to get the seals right and that the carpet should just be replaced to be safe, which he couldn't do. I appreciated that he was honest with us about what he could and couldn't do and steered us in the right direction. In the kitchen, I did my best to point out all the spots that were missing trim but knew I missed a few. He found them anyway and in the end I couldn't even tell or remember which spots had needed to be done--it all looked uniform and perfect. We added a couple more things to the list when he arrived to do the work, including replacing another broken basement window and putting a latch on another window. I was expecting his final invoice to be higher than the original estimate due to the extra work, but in fact it was lower! What started out as the highest of three estimates actually ended up being the lowest. I was very happy with the quality and thoughtfulness of his work and would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: We had a long list of small jobs that needed to be done in our new house: completing baseboards, trim, and crown molding in our kitchen, putting in a shelf in a small closet, replacing two windows, fixing a dryer vent that had been run out of a broken window, fixing two doors that weren't closing properly, and replacing some ceiling tiles.

Gary Lynch and his crew showed up on time every day until the job was finished. He was very helpful and recommended other subcontractors who were also responsible and efficient. The final job showed his excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. I've used him for other jobs and recommend him to clients and friends.

From beginning to end Gary was fabulous. He provides very reasonable quotes and sticks to the prices he quotes. Scrupulously honest - even insisted on charging less in one case when the work ended up being easier / cheaper than he thought (even though I tried to get him to accept the full amount which I had already agreed to). Quality of the work in all cases was excellent. We are now almost a year after the last time he did the work and it is all holding up very well. He shows up when he says he will, finishes as fast or faster than he says he will, and cleans up after himself. Even while we were out of town he made a lot of progress and finished work ahead of schedule. Very flexible / amenable to reasonable changes to the work even while it is going on. He is one of the few that we just call - for any carpentry, or anything that he says he can do, I would just call him, and not even shop around or get any other recommendations. A pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: We've had Gary do 2 major pieces of work: 1. repairs to staircases in front and back of our house where steps and risers needed replacement - in an old house with odd-shaped staircases 2. Complete workup of the outside of the house - shingles, trim, windows / doors, replacement of rotten window sills - everything that you would want to do before painting a house

He did everything spot-on. It took him half the time that he quoted us. They cleaned-up everyday without being asked. They were very professional and responsive. He also pointed out things and did them without charging extra. He consulted both my husband and myself through the process, so that we knew what was going on. We also decided to go with him to do a larger project on the exterior of our home. I have used other contractors in the past, and the fact that he was punctual was quite impressive to me. He did a really great job!

This man is an excellent carpenter and he could really be a general contractor. He is excellent, wonderful, professional and he always delivers as promised. He is very hardworking and cleans up well. He is very careful of our property and always arrives on time and works steadily for hours.
Description of Work: Gary Lynch gutted and re-did two bathrooms and a galley kitchen. This involved all of the plumbing, electrical, walls and floors. He installed all of the fixtures as well.
