He did the job and it worked out very well. He a very nice man and I would hire him again. He is also a painter and can provide painting services.

They were really excellent. He is very moderately priced and does really great work. He is very clear on what he's going to do. The work is very accommodating. If you don't like something, they'll change it.

We had Johnny come out to do an estimate. We received estimate and they came and did work over a 2 day period. Helped us move some heavy furniture out of living room too. The work came out nice. We had ceilings redone in 2 rooms and painted and then had a major patch repair with painting in one room and minor repair with ceiling paint in another.

He works very quickly and quietly. No mess. No clean up required after he left. I would use him again for bigger jobs.

First bought this over a year ago. Called at least a dozen times to set up appointment, but was always told to call back in a few weeks when he had more time. After the third call this month, got him to finally to commit. I was renovating a bathroom and needed six sheets of drywall hung and mudded, plus five ceiling patches. He called and said he wouldn't have time to hang the drywall, so I put it up. He work was fair, at best, as I believe his main job was as a painter. Since his mud was slow-drying, he said I'd have to do some sanding and re-mudding in 24-hours. Turns out I had to sand and re-mud quite a bit of the job. Not what I expected. I've supervised the building of several homes and used many sheet-rockers. They're always quick and I've never had to re-do the work. Not this time. I realize he had to come on a Sunday to do the work, but that was because we had tilers coming on Monday and he'd cancelled two previous appointments. Not real happy.

Was punctual and consistent and task oriented and when required to do additional work outside estimate did so promptly even though he was under time constraints.

Over a span of 3 months, I tried to get a quote from Johnny and to have him to perform the required work, but he was never available and never called me back to reschedule, even until the coupon expired.

I have used Johnnys Painting & Drywall Service several times and they are great. He is highly responsive, gets back to you pretty quickly, his prices are great and he does the work pretty quickly.

Due to a family emergency and ensuing illness I was unable to utilize my groupon before expiration. I was told not to worry about it and that he would honor it later. That is awesome!!!

We had an unfinished wall in the basement with fiberglass insulation, and the cats were playing with it. When Johnny offered a coupon for some work, I jumped at it. We were in no hurry to have the work done, but the year went by and somehow I couldn't find the time to have Johnny in. He was nice enough to honor the coupon after the expiry date. It wasn't a big job. Johnny arrived on time and finished in a few hours. He worked efficiently, and was pleasant to deal with. He also supplied the drywall, and didn't charge a premium for it. I wouldn't hesitate to use Johnny again if I needed more drywall work.

Johnny came to do an estimate on short notice and was able to do the job during a short window while the room was uninhabited, which was very convenient for us. His prices are reasonable, the work was done carefully and the room looks great. I would hire him again without hesitation (in fact we plan to have him do additional work for us, plaster repair) and I highly recommend him.

purchase the Big Deal for 4 hours of plastering/wall repair.... Then life got in the way, and I forgot. When I remembered - months after expiration - John stood by the deal. A true gentleman. He scheduled me quickly, stayed in contact, was punctual and professional.

I had purchased 4 hours of drywall work through a special offer from Johnny's Painting and Drywall on Angie's List. Overall, I was pleased with the results, my only negative comment is that it took forever to schedule the work after many, many phone calls and conversations. If not for that, this would have been an "A" rating instead of a "B" rating. Johnny did a good job, was very pleasant on the phone and in-person, and might even sing a jaunty tune while he works. ;-)

I tried a number of times to contact the company by e-mail. No response. I tried again and again. Finally got some response in 1 word replies. Did not seem to care about my business. Then I contacted Angies List. After that, I did get a "real" response. Appointment was se t and I took a day off from work and then they did not show up. When I contacted him, he said a close friend had died and he went to the funeral. I contacted him by e-mail and he did respond but me and my boyfriend got new cell phones and my boyfriend accidently deleted all of my e-mails. I work 2 jobs and I do NOT HAVE TIME TO CHASE THIS GUY FOR HIM TO DO WORK FOR ME.

Excellent work. Drywall replaced/fixed, as well as some plastering done. Professional, efficient and with great clean-up.

I used the Angie’s List big deal coupon with them for $99, for four hours of service. They fixed the problem. They cleaned up their mess.

Johnny's Drywall advertises on Angie's with coupons, and so he appeared at the top of the list. Now, I realize I can filter my searches differently. Maybe coupon offers are from companies that do poor work. untruth 1. Johnny's estimate seemed reasonable because he said he did the work himself. He had another guy hang the drywall and I think he was planning to let 2 guys do the plastering, except that I insisted he help. frustration 1. He promised to do the work in the next couple weeks, but started 6 weeks later, saying he was squeezing me in before going on vacation. untruth 2. On the first day, he told me he'd arrive at 8am but he got here at 9:30. frustration 2. He waited around for another guy to arrive and then the two of them stood with the front door open, talking for another full half hour (starting work after 10am). frustration 3. He wouldn't keep the door shut, even though I asked (there's a dog and the thermostat was disconnected). frustration 3. My door mat was tossed into the front yard and left there, 10' from the house. untruth 3. After Johnny removed the baseboards and a window apron (forgetting 2 others), he drove off, leaving the other guy to hang all the drywall. frustration 4. The guy trimmed the undamaged end of the only board that was damaged at one end - then he hung it in the living room, creating an obviously bulge near the ceiling. frustration 5. He was short one sheet of drywall and he left the space with the thermostat unfinished. I could either hook it up again or wait 2 days without heat. untruth 4. I removed light switch plates, wall sconces and the thermostat. Instead of pulling out the electric receptacles to mount them on top of the new drywall, flush, as Johnny had agreed, the guy pushed them into the wall and most were covered with sheetrock, while some openings were cut too large for switch plates to cover. untruth 5 & 6. Johnny insisted he'd be here at 7:30am on the second day but he arrived at 9:30 with a crew of 2 guys. untruth 7. Johnny said he'd cut out and patch the damaged sheetrock in the living room but he just left the bulge. frustration 6. I left and when I returned, the front door was open (no storm door) and the kitchen tap water was running full force. Johnny was 2 rooms away, with the door shut and he had used the water last. frustration 7. Because the electrical receptacles were casually pushed into the wall, the guys shorted shorted them flipped the circuit breaker 4 times (shorting the receptacle with metal trowels). They seemed to think it was amusing. frustration 8. Someone (probably Johnny) broke the bulb in one of the wall sconces. They were removed from the wall, covered, hidden, and out of the way, and yet someone had pulled it out and moved it - evidently snooping. frustration 9. As the light was fading (no wall sconces - no lights) Johnny brought no additional lighting. So it wasn't surprising to see later that they did a pretty lousy job with the plaster. I hadn't even asked for finished walls, so this should have been an easy job. frustration 10. Late the next day, after work, I noticed Johnny had left a front window wide open (no screen, middle of winter). untruth 8. Johnny refused to give me a paper invoice or receipt, but he promised to email it. Instead, he simply sent an email message that said I'd paid him - no invoice attached. I don't understand how other reviewers on Angie's List had such a different experience with Johnny's Painting and Drywall. I didn't make any of this up, and I can't imagine anyone would have been satisfied. He was dishonest about almost everything and some of it was just weird - the open door and window, the running water, the wall sconce, working in the dark...

Everything went very well. He arrived on time and cleaned up very well after he was done. He left a very good impression and we would use him again.

Johnny repaired multiple patches of drywall that needed finishing after we had cellulose insulation blown into our wall spaces. There was some confusion with the appointment time and he had to visit on different day. His work was excellent and he touched up a few places that weren't specified over the phone, at no extra charge. He did dump some left over plaster on our lawn, which did degrade and left no harmful effects, but I thought this was a bit tacky. Granted, we don't have a slop sink in our basement so this was probably the best alternative. I would use him again because of the quality of his work.

Johnny's called me to let me know he would be in the area. I asked him about the work I needed, and he came by and we discussed the work needed and a price. He came back to start on the work soon after. He needed 2 visits, first to do the patching and repair, and then to paint. Everything was done neatly and with a minimum of interruption, and was completed within a week. All told, it was a very satisfying experience.

Took a couple calls to set up appointment, but once made it the work was done really well, given the the challenges of the area, ( working around a gas meter). Overall a good experience in fixing a up a gaping whole in my wall.

Job was done a couple days before the end of the coupon year. Purchased coupon in Dec 2011. Primary task was to repair water damage in a ceiling. I determined there was an active leak in the shower above and it was repaired in January. Thren we went to Florida for two months and after returning waited some more to be sure leak was fixed. Don't remember why the work was not done in the summer. At the end of the summer called to get the work scheduled but he was going on vacation. It was later delayed so he could complete outside painting while the weather was good. Two or three missed scheduled appointments happended due to miscommunication during late November and early December. Finally the job was done on December 13th. Ceiling repair was good. Basement job was replacing bottom of drywall where flooding damage had ruined it. After he finished I realized the original basement drywall job was very bad and it was unreasonable to expect perfection when merging new work with a poor original job. The repair does meet the need.

When we told Johnny was needed to reschedule for an unspecified time in the future, he was gracious and accommodating. Little did we know that it would take almost a full year to get Johnny out here!
