After receiving no response to my messages, I contacted Angie's List and was given a full refund.

Immediately schedule appt with them - very flexible. Came over and my husband showed them what we needed done. He said that would take more time than the big deal we had purchased, and my husband indicated we'd pay the difference. They still seemed put off for doing more work, even though we'd be paying them market rate beyond the big deal. Overall, work was fine, I wished they would have paid more attention to detail on the edging.

It just felt like he isn?t actually interested in providing service. In each e-mail correspondence he wouldn?t confirm if he could come on a given date. In one instance he contacted me that he would be at my house that day. Unfortunately, without a confirmation I hadn?t taken the day off.

It was a stressful situation for us and Johnny made it better. He used email to keep in touch with us while we were waiting for the approval to do the work, then the cell phone as we got into the job. Our job was difficult in many ways. Johnny was the best bid and took the most time really looking at the exterior of the two story 200 yr old farmhouse style home we were in the process of purchasing. Our FHA lender required all peeling paint and rotting woodwork be replaced and scraped and primed in order to pass appraisal. We had to get this done before we could buy the house and we had only a very narrow window of time to get it done. We only gave Johnny a week's warning that it had to be done within a two week window. A nor'easter took up one week. As soon as the weather permitted Johnny and his crew were there scraping almost the whole house and repairing a lot of woodwork. They were clean and fast, the job was done in two and a half days. The wood work wasn't perfect but we just needed to get the house to pass appraisal and he was much less expensive than the carpenter's bid. He also did a lot of wood rot repairs that weren't on the bid and didn't charge extra. I found him to be very honest, hardworking and felt he really cared about doing a good job. We will hire him again to paint our house.

To be fair work was never performed by this contractor due to scheduling issues and my grading of a C is based on the fact it lies in between a FAIR and BAD grade. If I were to score the overall experience by including the "Big Deal" I would score it an F. Purchased a Big Deal offer Dec 2011 good through Dec 2012. Scheduled site visit for contractor shortly thereafter and he provided an estimate in January of 2012. During the site visit I sensed hesitation towards the work however I was provided an estimate and was satisfied with the cost. I explained the work would need to be delayed and I would be in touch to firm up scheduling. I recontacted this contractor in Aug, 2012 and he promptly responded saying Oct 1st is the earliest he could do the work. I agreed to the date and as the date drew closer I reached out Sept 25th to confirm only to be told on Sept 26th he was too busy with other work and could no longer honor his verbal agreement to the date we agreed upon. Additionally I was told that the particular offer I purchase was intended for "slower winter months". There was zero language on the original offer stating it was intended for winter months only. He offered to execute the work in Nov and this did not align with the timing I had been working towards for months so I requested a refund for the $99 I spent on the Angie's List Big Deal associated with this company. The contractor informed me that Angie's List is responsible for refunding the costs associated with the Big Deals. Unfortunately my takeaway is that I'm unlikely to purchase another Big Deal offer and will continue the quest for the stellar contractors only. They are out there because I've been lucky enough to find some in other trades....just not this one.

We took advantage of Johny's special he advertised on a Groupon. It was a great deal for the small amount of work we had done. A prior insulation company did an aweful job of repairing holes in our plasterboard, so we hired Johnny to do it professionally. We can't even tell a hole was there. He did a great job and patched a few things extra, without charge or complaint. I'd hire him again.

He and his crew did an excellent job. They hung plastic to minimize dust and cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend him for any painting and plastering work and will most definitely ask him to do additional work.

I had to hire someone else. I would love to get my $99 back

After many times trying to arrange a date for the service, I finally requested a refund on 7-31-2012. The reviews are probably correct that he is very good at his craft but he's so good he's very very busy. Since I was never able to have the work done, I am now looking for another contractor .

Work done was good quality.

I called to make an appointment. He called back and said that he was leaving the country and unavailable. I called once he said he would be back, but kept getting voicemail. I tried numerous times to contact him, with no return response.

I had no problem reaching Johnny. He explained his schedule constraints but said he would be able to get to me within 2 weeks and within 2 weeks the job was done. He was clean and neat and the ceiling looks fine. I think that my only complaint would be the price. It was a 3 foot square section that had been drywalled prior to Johnny's visit. He spent 2 1/2 hours skimcoating the 3 foot section. The amount charged did not include painting.

Purchased service special through Angie's List. Made several attempts to schedule the service we paid for. He was difficult to get a hold of and then repeatedly was "unavailable" to schedule a date even though we had purchased the "deal" through Angie's List.

I called in December 2011 and he told me to call in January. I called in early January and left some messages. I never heard back, so I asked for a refund from Angie's List.

Note that I used an Angies List deal for this service, so the price I list may not be reflective of standard pricing. I had a large hole in my wall that was left over from construction that the previous owner had done. After describing the problem to Johnny on the phone, he came over within a few days and plastered over the hole. The plaster looked perfect; you can't tell there was ever a hole there to begin with. Johnny was punctual, professional, and thorough. I hope to make use of his services again.

Johnny was a little difficult to pin down when it came to scheduling. He wanted to combine a trip to NH to do two different people's jobs at once-totally understandable. What I didn't get was why the other person could continue to push the job out and I was the one who continually had to adjust to THEIR schedule. He did come to do the job and it looked great..until about a week ago. One of the patch jobs in the dry wall he fixed (he fixed 3 areas) as failed. The paper tape has lifted and looks awful. That one seam now needs to be redone...again. GIven that one in three repaired spots has failed, I'd give him a failing grade of 66%. Caveat emptor

I purchases a "big deal" for 4 hours of drywall or plaster repair. After a couple of attempts between Johny and us to find a common date for the work, we settled on a date and time. Johny did arrive one hour late (My wife had to call him to find out if he was coming). He did a nice job of repairing our walls and ceilings that needed plaster/drywall repair. He cleaned up after himself as well. Overall I was pleased with the work done and would use him again for similar work.

He did a really good job in repairing the ceiling. It was a lot of work. The price was fair.

I meant to submit this much sooner but forgot. What reminded me is I just called Johnny to have some additional work done. So, I am hiring him again which I think says it all. I had 3 estimates done when we were going to paint the house and Johnny's estimate was the most reasonable. We had the exterior of the house painted and he did a great job. Was prompt in coming by to give me an estimate and was realistic on when he could complete the work. Johnny and staff were both professional and courteous and left the site very clean. I would and will be hiring Johnny again to do work again!

Plasterers arrived about 8:00 am...said they'd do the job in one day....and were gone by 4:00 pm! Not much to talk about...they came when they said they would; did what they said they'd do, cleaned up, chatted for a few moments with an elderly parent in the home and left! Perfect! At one point I asked if the two men had worked together for a long time, since I noticed not much talking going on...the response was "less talk, more work!" Worth every penny!

He was a personable guy. He showed up on time. He did a quality and pretty good job. He was pretty good and was acceptable to clients. His price was high. I would probably call him back again because he was very reliable. He called back and personally gave me a receipt. He did the job. He did the job as he said. He was personable. He kept his estimate. I think his estimate was a little high.

HIRE THIS MAN!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! Sent out various bids from Angie's List to get work done. Picked Johnny after discussing project with him. He was mid-priced but his honesty and demeanor is what got him hired. Being a new home owner, I have been taken advantage of by various people. I got bids to redo some work required for my loan ranging from $1200-$35,000 - are you kidding me?!?!?! 35K?!!?!?! Johnny came to my rescue! He even put up with me not knowing what I needed, not understanding the "terminology", changing my mind on things, as many women tend to do, and freaking out as work began (sorry Johnny - new to all of this!) His crew did absolutely zero damage to my shingled exterior whilst working on a three story multifamily home. Now that is impressive and shows talent and knowledge. They were totally professional, on time, did all the work and then some (sorry again Johnny) and cleaned up! You should see the quality of the work - it's excellent! not just good - but excellent! This is coming from not only the home inspector, but my father, a retired contractor in CT. Johnny - thank you so much for all you have done for me. Thank you again for putting up with me whilst I learned about all the stuff you were doing. Thank you for being the honest man that you are! I would hire you again in an instant!! Overall...it was one of the best jobs I have ever had for any type of problem. It was a small job, but I didn't know any good painters, so I just picked this one from Angieslist. I called him about a week before job, he called me back and asked if the day (Sunday morning) would be okay, I said it would be fine, First time I had any job done on a Sunday, but even though a small job, I wanted it finished. I will definitely hire this painter again when I have more painting to be done. He also does some carpentry.
