Not so good would not use him. Due to him not being a man of his word... He was nice and it was a city program that gave hom a hard time. I felt bad payed him $3500 up front! Mistake! He was not consistent in his work finished. Loose boards nail sticking out and large openings I had to get another contractor to finish! We talk and text a few more times and he said he would come back to do basement steps for the money he owed me. Then he text can't make it! I give it 3 weeks I call text and he has yet to call me back. I even over payed him $2000 from the money I got because he was so in a jam! That was OK I gave it! But now the $3500 was a agreement!!!! We made do WORK OR PAY MONEY BACK NOT GOOD!

This is an update on a previous review we wrote that rated this company highly. We only got halfway through the work before the COVID pandemic hit. We were also waiting for a long time on Marcus to obtain his GC license so he could pull a permit. Along the way there were a couple false-starts for permitting, stemming from his unfamiliarity with the process. When the pandemic hit, Marcus made the decision not to continue due to safety concerns. We understand the need for caution. However, the abandonment of the project and our contract left us in a position where we needed to hire a new company to finish the work, because we need a bathroom. The overall result is that we paid much more than we anticipated, and feel we did not get as much for the price because of the discontinuity in the job. Given all these factors, we cannot recommend Growing Families as highly as we did before.
