Chris Riggs was very polite and persistent up until the time he got my $3600 deposit check. Then he ignored me, didn't return calls and was very unprofessional. Eventually scheduled 4 different installation dates and no show / no call on all four. Now that I have posted about my experience with him online, he is nasty, insulting and dishonest. I have heard from multiple other customers he has ripped off. Check other reviews and go elsewhere.

I found it odd at the outset that this company showed up to do an estimate when it was not one of the ones I contacted. However, the price was good and I went with it. The door was replaced without problem, but I wanted it painted the color it was before, and Chris offered to do it. Here is where his unprofessionalism surfaced. He kept putting off the painting job until it was winter and too cold to do it anymore, which was most frustrating to me. In the meantime, just a few weeks after the new door installation, I had to have the garage door motor replaced -- no fault of his, though I wondered why he hadn't anticipated this issue, since it seemed related to the weight of the new door. But after the initial installation of the door, it was extremely difficult to reach Chris. Emails, texts, and calls (about the motor and the painting) often went ignored. It's a miracle the new motor finally got installed. And then, when this new bill came, the charge for painting was included. Once again, it took several efforts to connect with someone but finally, the office person, Heather, responded to my inquiries about the painting charge. She even said the job could be scheduled even though it was January; I questioned that, but she said it was warm enough. But -- why am I not surprised? -- it never happened. At least the charge for the painting was finally removed from the bill for the new motor installation, and Chris promised to do the painting when it was warmer. He said he had the remains of my old door on hand for color matching. So, fast-forward a few months: now it is warmer and I have emailed twice and called once in the course of a week, with not a single response. At this point, I have had it with this company. I can understand that Chris might be busy and that this kind of thing might be a low priority, but I think I deserve the courtesy of a response. His MO seems to be not to bother responding to clients unless it involves a major order. He does not deserve to be on Angie's List.

The job was not done as the company stopped responding once we set up a day for the service. After calling for the first time, I was asked to send my details and was told someone would contact me early in the week to set something up. That never happened so I contacted them back asking what day worked. After finding a day that worked, I was asked to contact them the day before to set up a time. When I did that no one responded. I contacted them a few more times on the day of the service but no one responded to me. I requested a refund from Groupon as it was too much of a hassle to just get them to come out.

Chris Riggs showed up on time to provide a written firm price on the job. He did not provide timely updates as to when the installation would take place. I had to call him to find out about availability and when the actual installation would take place. He did show up when agreed upon and completed the installation in good time. He left the garage clean when he left. Overall this was a positive experience especially compared to past experiences I had with other contractors on other jobs. His price was considerably lower than the other 4 contractors who bid for the job with equivalent quality doors. I would recommend using him for other garage related jobs.

Chris is very professional and knowledgeable. He showed up on time and completed the replacement in one hour. He installed a new LiftMaster motor with two openers, laser eye sensors, and a keypad. Chris also accommodated my request to move the garage door button close to my home entry doorway. Great work!

Chris was my first reply on the site and came the same day to give me an estimate! He was prompt and very knowledgeable and did not try to up-sell me. After helping me decide which door would best suit our needs, he gave me an accurate time frame for the installation and confirmed his timing with me the day of so I wasn't waiting around needlessly. Installation went smoothly and Chris even fixed a something we did wrong when we installed the openers. The new doors are wonderful, with a nice, snug in their openings to keep the cold out. Chris also gave me lots of good information about how to maintain them. For those who want to get things done quickly and work with someone forthright and knowledgeable, Garage Doors Plus is a great choice!

We used Garage Doors Plus to replace two old doors with two new steel insulated doors and a new motor. Working with Chris to have the work completed was about as easy as I could have imagined. Chris was quick to respond to our initial request for an estimate and provided upfront cost assessments and options for doors. Before agreeing to have the job done with Garage Doors Plus we communicated with Chris via email, text, and phone calls. Chris was always extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about his business. We chose an in stock door so between our initial inquiry and scheduled install it was only a few days. When Chris and his partner came to perform the service they were on time, completed the work quickly, and with high quality. When completed he hauled away our old motor and doors and left the entire work are as clean as when he arrived. Our new doors and motor are quiet and we are very happy with the work conducted by Garage Doors Plus.

I had a great experience working with Chris (owner). My husband and I wanted to replace the garage door at my elderly mothers house in Quincy. I called Chris based on a recommendation. He told me he was booking appointments about a week out since he was busy. But he gave me two or three options for times to come look at the door and give us a free estimate. He was on time and brought samples for us to look at. We felt his estimate was fair and he could install it within two weeks and give us a warranty. We are always cautious about who we choose to work on my moms house since she is elderly and we often cannot be there while work is being done. My mom had nothing but good things to say about Chris, he was punctual, polite and didn't take very long. Before he left he made sure that my mom knew how everything worked and told her he could come back if she felt like she needed more help. I was 100% satisfied with both his work and his professionalism. I will definitely use him again and I have even referred a friend when she needed repair on her door. She was very satisfied as well!

This was a terrible experience. Mr. Riggs came highly recommended by a neighbor, which is why we went with him. He came by in late September to give us an estimate - he called me back immediately after I initially left him a message and set up a time to come the following day, so I was quite impressed. He told us that in total, it would take 2 weeks to order the door and install it. In mid October we hired him. He came on October 17th to do the measuring, and he said he would come the following week to install the door. We scheduled the installation for the week of the 26th, but I never heard from him. I then reached out on the 31st and he said that he was in a car accident and that his truck had to be replaced, which I felt badly about and understood the delay. So then he rescheduled for the following Wednesday, but he canceled because of an impending storm, which again was a reasonable delay. I had to contact him again to find out when he could do the installation, and he Friday or Saturday, November 20th or 21st. I texted him on the 20th and asked if he would be coming that day or the next. He never got back to me. Then I texted him again on the 21st and also called, but never heard back. I finally texted him again on Monday the 23rd and he wrote back saying that he ?had no idea that (his) guys didn?t show up.? I was clearly frustrated and he said that he would come that following Monday, November 30th. We confirmed on the 29th and he showed up on the 30th to do the job. He started to look around the garage and the came to my door to tell me that he called the distributor who didn?t have the door. I was surprised that this hadn?t been assessed prior to coming to my house that morning. He then called another distributor and said that he could get another door that afternoon and could install it the next day. On Tuesday, December 1st, I texted him in the morning to confirm that he got the door. He never responded. I called and left a message and texted two more times, and I never heard back from him. I understand that he might be embarrassed, but this was a true waste of my time and really set me back a month and a half, as I was planning to have the door in before the snow came. I now have to start from scratch with getting estimates and am set back time and effort. I would never recommend working with Mr. Riggs. He seems like a very nice man, but his absence and lack of professionalism were unacceptable in my opinion.

I'd never recommend this company.

We called three companies. Chris called us back within 1 hour and came to our home immediately. We had an estimate the same night. Chris helped us select affordable doors with all of the features we wanted. He knows his products and his business. He emailed us when he ordered the doors and when they came in. We arranged a day and time for installation. Chris was on time and worked hard to complete the job quickly and right. We are thrilled with our new, quiet, insulated beautiful garage doors. We highly recommend Chris.
