Jim and his staff did a fantastic job. I highly recommend him as he was professional and experienced. He was very fairly priced and cleaned up job site when completed. Would hire again for any project!

Jim & Steve were outstanding in their work. In a heartbeat I would have them back. Through the years I have dealt with many contractors and Jim & Steve made you feel good and they are truly nice people. The workmanship was excellent, if your looking for great work, you will not be disappointed.

Jim & Steve are fantastic! They built us a new deck, and listened to everything we asked for, and even added special handrails for our special needs daughter. We hope to use them again for some other projects and would recommend them to everyone we know.

Jim built a deck for me and it is hands down the nicest part of my house. It is absolutely beautiful and his work is meticulous. He showed up when he said he would and took care of everything. From the dumpster, to the lumber to the permits and inspections he manages it all. I would give him and Steve 10 stars if I could. These guys rebuilt my mother's deck that was completely gutted and left that way by another company. They were always on time and very professional and polite. They also installed new sliding doors for her. I would definitely recommend these guys 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jim and his able crew did a magnificent redoing our 16 x 15 deck. They left no "stones unturned." After each day's work, they were meticulous in cleaning up. Beautiful and precise carpentry work. The team were professional and polite . We were highly pleased and recommend them without hesitation. They covered "all the bases".

Jim and Steve did an amazing job finishing off our basement space. They added a playroom/living area, bathroom, and office to our home and we could not be happier. Their attention to detail and craftmanship shows in their work and we love the end result. They were in constant communication throughout the project even through the challenges of COVID. They kept us well informed of when subcontractors were coming, kept us updated on the project timeline and showed up when they said they were going to in order to complete the job. We had a small issue after the project finished and they came and fixed it at no additional charge. I cannot say enough good things about Fairgrieve's Custom Carpentry. I definitely plan on using Jim and Steve again for our future home projects.

Jim and Steve are the best! The communication was excellent the entire time. They came on time everyday and cleaned up when they were done. They built us a 10X12 deck with marine grey Azeck decking with black balusters and a matching grey drink rail. The deck looks amazing and will definitely still be standing after the house falls down. Haha The Portico is beautiful as well. We had an idea of what we wanted but they hit it out of the park. They are coming back to install a new front door and storm door and hopefully in the fall come back to remodel some of the kitchen. By far the best around!!

We were very pleased with the finished product in terms of both aesthetics and quality, and found Jim very easy to work with. Great communication during the project, and despite some setbacks by the supplier of materials, Jim got the job done on time. Jim and his teammate were reliable, punctual and thoroughly cleaned up after each day of work. I would recommend and use again for another job.

Jim Fairgrieve and Steve built a beautiful new set of steps to the back door of my house out of pressure treated wood and composite decking and railings. They are a great team - efficient, friendly, skilled, neat, knowledgable, attentive to detail. Great commmunication, reasonable price, impeccable cleanup. Could not have picked a better company! Highly recommended.

Jim was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was a consummate pro, listened well and asked questions, and it was obvious that he and his coworker Steve take a lot of pride in their work. We had him demolish and completely rebuild a 22' x 6' front porch for our 105 year old house. It's not always easy to fit something new onto something old, from the overall spacing to connecting with the existing brick staircase and porch roof, given the code requirements of 2019. Jim had no problems, and in cases where we had to unexpectedly do things - like whoops cover that previously existing, but now with the new Azek, some very old-looking flashing, etc. he had some great ideas - new strips, some mouldling. The fit and finish on the porch were great, no visible deck-board ends, using multiple end pieces to avoid extra cuts of the long azek deck boards, etc....And all were discussed and decided upon together in a low pressure and professional style. Jim's also not afraid to admit when something isn't his strength or not something he's good at. That's a rare and valuable skill and extremely useful to any potential client. Would gladly use again and recommend to friends.

Jim recently replaced our deck and back stairs. During the quoting process, Jim had great recommendations for the project and was also responsive to requested changes. We were so impressed with his work – he is meticulous on every front – the deck came out perfect. He and Steve were awesome to work with, kept us informed with updates throughout the project, and left the outdoor space spotless at the end of each day. Jim finished the job ahead of schedule and on budget, and his pricing is very fair. We will absolutely look to work with Jim again in the future.

Jim (and his staff) were outstanding. They were able to put a half bath and pantry into an unused space, and also made a beautiful back stair well. He was able to change multiple windows as well. He is someone that can do it all, and does it all very professionally and promptly. I would hire Jim for anything that I would need done.

I’m so pleased with Jim and his work. An old drafty door, sided by an old drafty doggy door were both replaced with a Harvey brand patio door that opened wide (like a French) but contained a stationary side for every day use. Jim’s skills are superb and he’s a pleasure to deal with!!!

Jim built a new deck for our front porch. There was just a slab step and an open overhang. The new deck gives us a nice sitting area and a connecting point for the overhang with nice railings around. The quality and attention to detail is superb!! I’m so pleased!!

Jim was very professional, courteous, reliable and dependable. He performed the job in the expected time frame and did some extra work that was not reflected in his bill. We love the finished product. We are planning on hiring him again for another job and would recommend him to family and friends.

Wonderfully, Jim did an unbelievable job

He was more than a pleasure to work with and easy to talk to. The key thing about him was was that Jim is a phenomenal custom carpenter. We like that he did the work in about 1.5 - 2 weeks. He gave us a start date, he showed up when he said he would and worked on our job only until he was finished. He had an affordable price as well. I wished I could give him an A+.

Jobs were always completed on time and within budget with exceptional level of craftsmanship.
