Worst retail experience I ever had. The recliner I chose was shown in leather. I spent hours choosing a fabric, then found out it could not be used on a recliner. I chose something else, then called and said I wasn't sure. The saleswoman came to my house with samples and we chose something else. Then she called and told me - again! - that the fabric I chose couldn't be used on a recliner. She came to the house again and I chose something else, not really what I wanted. Once the chair arrived I discovered it was almost impossible for me to get out of it. I'm 5'2" and it apparently was designed for a taller person. Days after it arrived the fabric on the back cushion started to slide down, making an unsightly puddle of fabric. My brand-new chair started looking like an old wreck that Archie Bunker might have. The company sent someone to check the closing mechanism. It was working as it should, and since I'd tried it at the store, it was my tough luck that I - and all my visitors - had to struggle to get out of it. They sent someone else to look at the sagging cushion, and he said I needed a replacement filler. That arrived and was installed and if anything was even worse than the first one. At each interaction with customer customer I asked them to take it back for a store credit, and they declined. I'm disgusted that a store like Ethan Allen did not seem to care that their product failed. They could resell the chair at their outlet store or reupholster it and resell it. I'm just stuck with this big ugly thing that no one can get out of. UPDATE August 2013: I posted a complaint on their Facebook page ("worst customer service ever") and got a quick response. They finally took the chair back and offered me a choice of store credit for the full amount or a refund minus a 20% "restocking" fee. Since I plan never to shop there again, I took the refund. Depressing that they did the right thing only after being shamed publicly.
