Did Not go well. After waiting two months longer than expected, the installation was close to a nightmare. There were several water leaks discovered within the 1st day, which they did come back quickly to fix. They accidentally busted our bulkhead door and the man in charge was unable to close it all the way when he left because it was busted. I politely brought this to his attention when he arrived the following morning, but he angrily reacted and tried to dodge accountability. I had to argue with him to get him to fix the door. The new gas pipe was installed poorly. It is very loose and has minimal supports to the ceiling. Two more supports would have resulted in a far more secure gas pipe. The drainage tube was tied so tightly in many spots, water can barely squeeze through the tube. So he left me the ties to change myself. The city inspector made the company add brackets on the external vent/intake pipes as they were deemed unsafe. An approximate 5"x5" hole was left in the basement wood sill between the vent/intake pipes. So he left me a tube of sealant, again to DIY. And the sealant he handed me is only designed to fill in holes less than an inch! Finally, it was agreed the boiler was to be installed on existing blocks. I found the blocks stacked nearby. I asked why. A worker said, "he didn't like the blocks." The blocks were actually useful for keeping the boiler safely above minor flooding.
Description of Work: We used City Fuel Corp. for nearly two years as oil providers and for all service calls. We also used City Fuel Corp. for a gas conversion/boiler installation. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with the company overall. Some of the workers were professional and worked hard. We found that was not the case for management. The company did respond quickly to oil requests, emergency service requests or business opportunities, but typically would not return phone messages they didn't want to for long periods of time. They simply didn't respond to our messages for more than two months beyond the estimated time they gave us for our boiler installation. We felt extremely disrespected we had been a customer for nearly two years. Mass Save requested another invoice from the contractor that included all the necessary info. in order to process the $1600 boiler rebate, City Oil again simply would not call us after we left numerous messages. They would not cooperate in printing out another invoice so we could get the boiler rebate we were entitled to receive. This is the boiler they sold to us. Unbelievable. I had ask Mass Save what else I could do for documentation.

I WISH THAT ALL COMPANIES I DEAL WITH WERE AS GREAT AS THIS ONE. IT'S TRULY A DELIGHT TO DO BUSINESS WITH CITY FUEL. THEIR BUSINESS ETHICS ARE OUTSTANDING. THEY ACTUALLY TALKED US OUT OF AN EXPENSIVE HEATING OPTION. THEY ARE KEEPING THE POTENTIAL LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH US IN MIND RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON MAKING A QUICK BUCK. WAY TO GO FELIX AND TEAM!
Description of Work: FURNACE CLEANING AND INSPECTION. OIL SERVICE.
