Scott came to diagnose a problem with our Samsung washer. Turns out there was a problem with the clutch. The washer was out of warranty by a month, but he encouraged me to contact Samsung anyway because the warranty was so close to the failure date. He thought that it would be worth it to pursue the warranty claim because it would cost several hundred dollars to fix the washer. He didn't charge us anything. I would definitely use them again.

Our Maytag oven wasn't working properly. We would set it to 400 and it only came up to 200. I sent a message to Appliance Works of Boston offering three possible dates, and they contacted me within half an hour to say they could come the next day between 1 and 3. They arrived the next day at 12:30 - I wasn't even home yet. Talk about punctuality! They replaced the glow igniter, fixed a problem with our washing machine, and gave me a quote on replacing the control panel on our dishwasher all within 20 minutes. Wonderful service! Scott and his colleague were polite and professional. Highly recommended.

Made an appointment 2 days out after washing machine stopped working (with a newborn and 2 year old in the house) Scott told me he would call when he was on his way, but would be here between 12PM and 1PM. No call, and no show during the window.

I called Appliance Works of Boston to come check out my dishwasher. They came out quickly, repaired the latch, and checked out the rest of the dishwasher to be sure all was working correctly. It was a minor repair, but they were very quick to respond and very pleasant and professional. I would recommend their services.

Kenmore dryer in rental unit I own was not producing any heat. Repair person (Scott) identified 2 problems. 1. Identified and fixed the thermostat on the "auto mode" for $160. 2. Identified broken contact that prevented the dryer from working in "timed mode". He decided not to fix this (at least not before getting my approval as this would have added $120.00). Dryer is now functional, and that's all I wanted. I've read some other reviews on this outfit whereby they have tried to save the consumer money.....so based on my experience I will call them again if I need another repair.....which hopefully I won't :>

They were great. Called back quickly, and came the next day. Had to order a part, but we're back with the part in 48 hrs. It was not an easy repair, but they got it going! And it is still going, more than 2 weeks and God knows how many loads of laundry later. They were nice, punctual, knowledgable and reasonable.

They were amazing. They called me back within a couple of hours and were able to give me a next day appointment. They arrived within their window of time and got the job done. Highly recommend.

i contacted scott via the email given. he emailed back that he would come the following wednesday. a day or so later he emailed that he had forgotten that he had jury duty that day, i emailed that that was fine and i would wait for him to contact me because if he got picked for a jury it could be longer than a day or two. no contact after a week and i emailed that maybe he got picked for a jury so let me know. again no answer so i stopped and figured i'd get another company.

Well...first of all let me point out that 25 year old Sears/Kenmore gas range/oven we have is 36", so larger than average, with a griddle cooktop in the center. They had repaired the igniter for the oven the year before so we knew it was more than likely not that problem again. They diagnosed the problem and determined the thermostat was more than likely faulty. The challenge, they don't make the part anymore. I was able to find the part online (the guys provided me with the exact part number), and after receiving the part, I contacted them to come over to install it. They were on time, ready to go, dismantled the range to install the new thermostat, and the oven didn't work...but they did not give up! The looked more closely at the schematic and after troubleshooting EVERY aspect of the range, they fixed the problem! The analog clock timer was stuck in an off position and was causing the safety valve to not open, therefore not allowing the oven to ignite! I am giving them high marks for not giving up, because they could have stopped after testing the new thermostat and I would have been forced to buy a new range which as you are aware would be several hundred dollars. Kudos to the guys! They saved the day! And my wallet! I would highly recommend, they are fair and efficient.

I had a MassSave energy audit done and one of the things they told me was that my gas oven had too high levels of CO2 and that I should get it serviced. The levels had to be reduced before they could do the insulation. I talked to several appliance repair people and Scot was the only one who knew what i was asking and had a suggested resolution. He answered the phone calls promptly, set an appointment and came when he said he would and replaced the oven ignitor, which seemed to solve the problem. I know who to call the next time I need an appliance repaired quickly and at the right price.

Scott was very responsive. He called back promptly and was able to come out the next day. He patiently waited to see a leak that we couldn't describe in detail because we only noticed after the cycle was done. He then told in detail what was wrong and what was about to go wrong. He advised us not to put any money into the washer. We appreciated his detailed and honest assessment.

Scott is professional and helpful. He called back to answer all questions that we had and was quite patient.

Was very responsive to messages sent through this site. We booked an appointment without a phone call. He got needed information from me so he could show up prepared. They showed up half way through the two hour window he gave - completely acceptable to me. Repair was completed quickly and things are working as expected. Good experience for me.

I called Scott and let him know the issue with the washer. Scott said he would order the parts and give me call when they arrived. A couple of days later Scott and his helper arrived and repaired the washer and also fixed my dryer which was damaged by the washer. Great job!!!

I hired the company to handle a repair for a tenant. He was very responsible and professional. He called me to let me know what was going on and came back a month later without charging me when the problem reoccurred.

Great job! They were able to come the same afternoon I called and had the parts they needed available. They showed up a few minutes early. A lot of our screws were rusted into place but they drilled them out with no complaints even though the job took longer than they expected. Dryer is now working very well again. Cost was a bit more than quoted because of the extra labor involved with the screws but still less than I was expecting since they had basically another hour of labor.

I wrote to Scott via Angie's list yesterday, he responded immediately, and came this morning. I never expected such quick and expert service. He and his fellow repairman were cordial and worked quickly. I would definitely call them again.

Scott and crew were awesome! We have a Bosch fridge that wasn't fixed by the Bosch technician. Bosch technician did nothing and said I might need to replace the compressor at 1500. Scott came in and revived my fridge at a small fraction of the quote from Bosch. I highly recommend Appliance Works!

washer broke down, the repair man came asap ( they were inundated with repair calls, we had very heavy snowfalls back to back) he was professional, and even though he couldn't fix my washer it was a pleasant experience overall.

They came when they said they would. They were quick and used efficient problem solving to correct the issues. They were able to clearly explain what the problem was.

Called them when our dishwasher suddenly stopped working. The guy who came out on the service call was professional and extremely knowledgeable. He probably saved us a ton of money by letting us know that the part that failed was usually followed by a much more expensive failure within a year or two -- often less. Sounds like some of the newer dishwashers rely too much on very expensive but very touchy electronics. Sadly, our dishwasher was trapped in place by a built-up tile floor the previous owners installed, so he wasn't able to pull it out to fix the broken pump. We wound up replacing our countertop in order to remove the broken dishwasher, and thanks to their advice we decided to replace it outright and are very happy with the result. I'm very grateful for their approach -- they could have made a lot more money by sawing off the legs, leaving us with a mess and a dishwasher likely to fail again before too much longer. We may not need them any time soon for our dishwasher, but we'll definitely keep their number handy for any other appliance surprises!
