Description of Work: No one answered the phone when called, so we tried another.

Description of Work: The experience was simple and efficient. I texted photos of the broken washing machine part & the manufacturer's label. They were able to promptly order the part and get me on the their schedule. They arrived on time, were polite and respectful of my home.

Description of Work: I called Appliance Works of Boston to fix my electric dryer which would not start. I had purchased a coupon through Angie's List. | |A guy named Scott came to my house with another guy and diagnosed the problem - it needed a new start switch. I thought that they were thorough and appreciated that they told me that, while they were pretty sure this would fix it, there were a couple of things that they could not diagnose until they knew the starter switch was working. | |Scott said that he would have to order the parts. He asked me whether I wanted them to come and install the switch or if I would prefer to do it myself. He explained that it was only a matter of unscrewing two screws to remove the switch and then screwing in the two screws to replace the switch. | |At first I said I would have them do it so it would get done. We discussed it some more and I said I would install the switch and if I had a problem, I'd make another call for them to come. I also said that I would pick up the parts wherever it was convenient for him. He said the it wouldn't be a problem for him to drop the package off on my porch. | |After a couple of weeks I called Scott because I didn't have the parts. Scott said they would drop off the package. Again I offered to pick up the parts, and he said he would drop them off. In the end I called 2 or 3 more times (not totally sure since it has been awhile). The last time I called on a Friday and Scott said, "let's make a plan after the weekend. Either I'll call you or you call me." I never heard again and stopped calling. | |

Description of Work: He determined the cause of the problem with my appliance (dishwasher) and gave a price to fix it. He noted that I could buy a new one for the cost to repaire the old one. I decided not to proceed with repair at this time.

Description of Work: Very professional. They arrived on time and went right to work on my dishwasher.Scott said that it would cost to much to fix.Buying a new one was a better way to go. I was impressed ,because he could have tried to talk me into an expensive fix.

Description of Work: I have used Scott and his assistant twice and thought they were excellent. They even went above and beyond to find an updated replacement part to solve a recurring issue with my refrigerator and then ordered it to be delivered directly to me so I could install it without paying another service call. Highly recommended!

Description of Work: I used Appliance Works of Boston to check out my ranges. They fixed one of the gas igniters and they checked all three ranges that I have.

Description of Work: My washing machine was making some strange noises, as well as leaking oil and I decided time to call a professional. Scott from Appliance Works came out to have a look. Unfortunately, the old machine was DOA. A blown transmission! Who know that washing machines have transmissions? But Scott was great. He arrived on time, cleaned up after himself (love that), and gave me some good advice about buying a new machine. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs appliance repairs.
