+ -1 moreThe guys were great, professional and looked like they enjoyed what they were doing.... during a heat wave. I got them some Gatorades, they cranked some rock music and worked through it. Great, respective crew!

Description of Work: This is a horor story for moving. A friend recommended these movers so we called them and they were friendly and gave us an estimate and we set up moving day. They were supposed to come in the morning and didn't show up. Several calls later and the person on the phone wasn't so friendly anymore and said they were moving someone else and would get there when they did,. Well they didn't come until 7pm at night and we moved in the dark and our new neighbors certainly didn't appreciate a truck pulling up at 8:30pm. So after moving everything in they gave us a price that was totally higher than what they quoted. I called the owner and he had a really snappy attitude and basically told me that I was crazy for thinking it was the price he quoted so we paid the movers because it wasn't their fault that the owner quoted a different price.Then we went into the cellar and noticed that they had dented our new washer in the move. I called the next day and again the owner was really rude and told me that I had no recourse and he wasn't willing to bargain with me at all so I told him I was calling the Better Business Bureau. Well that got his attention and suddenty he wanted to meet with us to discuss this. So he came to our house still with an attitude but did give us the move for the orignail price and gave us $40 for denting the washer and asked me not to contact the BBB. I told him sorry I already did because this was an awful experience I didn't want anyone else to go through. He was furious but I told him you should treat the customer with respect.

+ -1 moreProbably some of this was my fault but here goes: they arrived on time with a large truck and three men. I took the "foreman" around the house so they could get a general idea of what and where everything was. I tried to be friendly - and I was (my fault!). I was down in the cellar doing a little extra packing and one of the men was down there moving stuff. He started talking and then we began a long conversation about his girlfriend, and so on and so forth. Well, at the end of the move no-one ...unfortunately, not even me...did a walk through to see if everything was loaded. There was hardly an inch to spare in the truck. Off we went to my new house. The move in was all right although a few things got scratched (a coffee table) and a box got dropped. I went back to my old house and what to my wondering eyes appeared but a large green tote laying in the back yard! I had seen a man bring it up from the cellar but I guess he just decided it didn't need to go! Then I went inside and lo and behold a great many of my bags of clothes were still hanging in the closet! It seems, all told, that this move was just "hit or miss" with them. If they thought they were through with one room then off they went to another room, without anyone double-checking. Shame on me! And shame on the "foreman"!
Description of Work: I needed to move from one house to another - about 2 miles away. They provided some free, used boxes. It was to be a one-trip move, although they said they would be able to make it 2 trips if needed. I packed everything. I didn't ask them to pack anything.
