Very well. They were clean, they were fast, they were reasonable in their price and in their time commitment.

I sent an email to them and they were not responsive.

See my previous comments. all I would add is that my first call to the company was placed the evening of Jan. 7 and the visit for purposes of getting an estimate was Jan. 8 in the morning. I was offered the option of waiting on a written estimate, but as I felt satisfied with the verbal one, I o.k.'d them to perform the work on the morning of Jan. 9. They were a bit delayed (about 40 min.) but gave gave a call to find out if that was o.k. I said that it would be fine, and they arrived promptly afterwards. They did everything I had asked for and were extemely courteous. That's what I like in a company working in or around my home, and I will recommend them to anyone in the area who I have occasion to do so.

C.S.P. was very fast responding to our request for an estimate - they contacted me the next day. They were easy to communicate with throughout the whole project. I added a few things to the contract, like replacing some missing shingles and a bathroom vent cover on one wall, which they easily accommodated, and they knocked some money off the contract when they were able to repair a fascia board instead of replacing it, which I thought was more than fair. They power-washed the house and deck, and did a beautiful job staining and painting the house. It looks like new. They then removed all the decking, steps, kick-boards and handrails from the old deck, replaced the posts, and put it all back together with new wood. They cleaned up every scrap - even used a magnet to make sure they recovered all the nails. The crew was courteous and extremely professional. I would recommend them to anyone, as honest, fairly priced and professional workmen. I could not be more pleased.

I probably wouldn't call this company again.

. This project was completed in an excellent manner. Chris and Josh performed this work efficiently and to a very high level of quality. They took initiative and improved on what I had requested. The finished products are much better than what I expected. They replaced old, worn out shelving in the garage with beautiful new shelving that created so much additional storage space. They drywalled in about forty feet of wall space and finished it with great-looking paint and trim. The garage is safer, the laundry room looks great, and the new door works perfectly.

The team from Coastal C.S.P. did a fantastic job. They performed all the services I requested in a timely manner. Mr. Parkhurst was flexible and accommodating especially when a couple items needed clarification mid-job. The quality of the work performed was professional. The entire team was very professional and polite. The work site was left clean and all debris was removed. I would absolutely use their services again.

I chose Coastal CSP because they gave a very professional and detailed estimate, their price was competitive (of 4 bids) and they offered a 3 year warranty. Chris and his crew were professional and friendly while they were on site. The job took about 2 weeks. The woodworking/carpentry they did was excellent and matched the original trim perfectly. They suggested (and we agreed) to use PVC instead of wood for these replacements since we have a shady lot and the trim is prone to wood rot. The PVC looks great and is indistinguishable from the adjacent wood. They used a paint sprayer for the larger areas (like the shed dormer) which created a very nice, smooth and even finish. Chris even replaced the brass numbers on the outside of the house at no charge. The areas where they were weak were: incomplete preparation, attention to detail and lack of follow-up after job completion. Their preparation consisted of primarily power washing; they did not sand windowsills and gables that were badly cracked. They were not always attentive to detail and my "punch list" at the end was a full page long. In addition to the sanding needed on windowsills and gable vents, the punch list included paint spatters on many windows and places that had been missed by the painters. To his credit, Chris was good-natured about addressing everything. However, I am disappointed in his post-job communication. I tried to reach him 6 weeks later when I discovered two windows that had been painted shut. Over the next three weeks I left two voice mail messages and sent several e-mail messages (to both his company and personal e-mail addresses). I received no response. When a neighbor to whom I had recommended Coastal CSP said Chris was coming to give an estimate the next day, the neighbor said he would tell Chris that I was trying to reach him. It is two weeks later and I have still not heard from Chris. This puts the company's three-year warranty in question and is the reason we cannot recommend Coastal CSP.

Overall the job was fantastic. Chris gave me a quotes for the exterior work and interior work, including all details of work to be done. He broke the work down into parts so I could keep my budget in line and choose what to do now and what to do later. He began the work when he said. I got to make all the choices; he did all the work. His crew was polite, clean, friendly, and busy all of the time. There were a few challenges that came up such as the rotted facia and me wanting a door too small for the space, but each challenge was met with a positive attitude and a willingness and ability to solve the problem. The crew was very conscientious about cleaning up and leaving the workspace clear each day. No drips on carpets. No damage or accidents. In spite of rainy days, all work was completed early (in under 2 weeks) and on budget. The quality of work is excellent but above and beyond expectation was the professionalism and pride taken in the work. This was not just "slapping paint on the walls or shutters and moving on to the next job" kind of experience. I received valuable advice in making choices and help in choosing colors and where to place them. I finally have accents walls I've always wanted. I know some of my requests were not strictly in the contract but every effort was made to make them happen. Chris, Josh, and Coastal CSP will always be my first choice for painting and home remodeling/repair work.

Coastal CSP gave an estimate for the job and were very timely in arriving for the estimate and in delivering the estimate via email. They repaired everything in a timely manner when scheduled. The estimate is exactly what they charged. They were very professional and cleaned up inside and out prior to leaving. They arrived a little later than they had stated but they finished the job in one day, as expected, even though they ended up needing more wood than had been anticipated.

The professionals from Coastal Custom Renovations and Paint (Christopher Parkhurst cspcontracting@gmail.com) were way better than I had expected from the average paint company. They were complete gentlemen. They were all polite and considerate as they did the various items. One thing I was really impressed with was how quick and efficient they were. I was surprised to find they had completed the various rotted pieces on my Victorian facade front porch within the first few hours after they started the job. When they finished, I couldn't tell that the replacement pieces had not always been there. Obviously, they knew what they were doing when they took the rotted corner support column out of our large front porch. We also have a huge pergola that runs the length of the back deck. They did a beautiful job up on the second floor renovating the pergola. We spend a lot of time on our deck which surrounds our large koi pond. They were extremely careful to fully protect our fish and yet did a beautiful job on the deck above the pond. Excellence and efficient execution of the work seemed to be an important work ethic for all those who worked on our job. Looking back, I can't believe they did the whole job in less than two days. I had expected the usual week especially when it really rained one of the days they worked. The deck had been a brick red with white trim. We decided to change the color to what was a similar blue to Williamsburg blue with white trim. When they finished, I could not believe what a beautiful difference it made. When something needed to be done, but had not been in the original estimate, they just did it anyway without extra charge. Upon completion of the job, they took time to walk the entire project and point up and paint any little speck that I could point out. And they made it clear that they would come back to fix anything that I later was not happy with. That was not necessary. And they cleaned up after the job much more thoroughly than I had expected. As I said, they seemed interested in establishing a reputation for excellence in the execution of our work. I would have no trouble recommending them to anyone.

I contacted five contractors and of the five only one could come right away, but wanted to charge for an estimate as a service call. Needless to say, I was not interested in that company?s services. I left a message for the other four. Only one of those four was professional enough to call me back, schedule an appointment and keep it. This one was not one of them.

Coastal CSP did an outstanding job on the outside of my home!!!!! Christopher Parkhurst explained each step of the work that would be performed on the outside of my home. They did a beautiful job power washing, the outside of my home, driveway, sidewalks, and deck. The outside looks beautiful!! My neighbors have commented on how nice it looks!! They removed old trim work on the outside of house and replaced and painted with two coats of paint. Replaced the vents to my attic with new ones. Coastal CSP put up a beautiful privacy lattice to replace the old one. The new privacy lattice is wonderful and better then the old privacy lattice when it was installed in 2006. Christopher Parkhurst made certain all cracks and gaps were repaired, on the exterior of my home. He and his men checked over every thing to make certain every thing was to my satisfaction. The old house looks like new!! Coastal CSP (Custom Renovations & Paint) employees were very nice. They always made certain that at the end of the day, the property was always cleaned up. I have over the years had contractors do work on the interior and exterior of my home. Coastal CSP is the best company I have had the pleasure of doing work on my home. I highly recommend Coastal CSP . I will be using them again!!!

I called multiple times to request services. Left multiple voice mails. I even mentioned that I had found them on Angie's list, which is why I called them due to favorable reviews. No response at all. Perhaps this contractor does not service the peninsula despite claiming otherwise. Have no idea why there was no callback. Not professional.

We are very happy with the overall experience. They kept us informed every step of the way as to expectations, progress, and work dates. In the past we've contacted larger contractors for work and they are were not interested in the small upkeep type of jobs. The folks at Coastal were great to work with and filled our need for someone willing to do multiple smaller jobs as one package. The guys were always polite and agreeable and cleaned up well at the end of the project. Their warranty on our contract was 3-years for parts and labor and that included all the painted surfaces. Bottom line for us is would we call the folks at Coastal to come to our house again, the answer is yes.

This was a second contract to cover additional work which came to light from work on the first contract. When the items were discovered, Chris explained the issue and work that needed to be done to our complete satisfaction. We could have gone with another contractor for the additional work, but since we were happy with the work Costal CSP had already performed we selected them to complete the repairs.

After a slight amount of phone tag, I was extremely happy with the quality of the work, and the professionalism of the workers. All of the members of Chris' team were punctual and extremely professional in both their attitudes and their workmanship. I would definitely use their services again for any household project I may have, large or small.

This work was done smoothly and quickly to a very high level. Chris and Josh brought everything: drywall, shelving, paint, new door, and completed the work over the course of three days. They cleaned up after the work was done, and I hardly knew they were there. The garage is in much better shape than before; it is cleaner, neater, safer, and more functional because of the work that they did. The new door that they installed works perfectly.

We had an emergency situation where two steel doors and their door frames needed to be replaced. I called about nine contractors and all said it would take weeks for them to be able to install replacements. Coastal CSP was able to come the next day to get the job done. They did good work for a very fair price, and they were friendly and nice to work with.

I was told after he came out on 5/2/2012 that I would receive an estimate in around 2 weeks via email. I never got any estimate, any phone call and I left a message early 7/24/2012 and have not heard back. Its disappointing to join Angies list and find people who are rated highly let you down. Im upset that I wasted time with setting up the visit and waiting for an estimate and recieved none after 2 months. My second estimate was from Erik at Titan Contracting who was listed on Angies List as well and he never gave me an estimate either!

Great service! Coastal provided organized, itemized estimates that specified products and brands to be used so it was very easy to know what to expect. They started with an exterior pressure wash. Chris was great about monitoring the progress on our projects and all employees were polite and professional. Within one week, we had our front porch, back porch, deck and all exterior trim repainted as well as the majority of the interior of our home. All other services were completed and the results were beautiful! Working quickly through such a large project, there were a few areas that required some touch up. The following business day, the Coastal crew was back to finish the job. We still have a few areas to perfect, but they guarantee the work for 3 years and we are very pleased with the products, quality of work, and service provided. There is no doubt we will contact them in the future for other projects.

Chris was punctual and had all of his supplies and was ready to go to work. We added the bathroom cabinets after he had done the estimate for the kitchen and he was able to accommodate us. He learned the value of using a cabinet hardware guide when placing knobs and pulls on the doors. Chris is giving us an estimate to paint the interior upstairs and we look forward to working with him once again.

This company provided excellent professional service. The personnel did high quality work on every aspect we contracted for. They also dealt with the randomness of an older, quirky home. They did more than we requested to make sure details were addressed, even attending to problems that were of our own making with good solutions. Everything is just as we wanted it. We are very pleased and would recommend Coastal C. S. P. without reservations.

We have used CSP for other projects and are always thrilled with the results. I asked Chris and Josh to give us an honest assessment of the deck's condition. Due to its size we really hoped to salvage it if possible to avoid the expense of replacing it. They both felt it was in good structural shape and just needed some surface work and updating. As always, the guys were punctual, responsive, and did great work. They pay attention to detail and it is obvious they take pride in what they do. We are so thrilled with the deck now. It feels like a brand new space and we spend so much time out there now that it isn't ugly anymore!

Mr. Parkhurst and his crew were punctual, very professional, courteous and customer orinated. The crew arrived at 8AM and promptly began work. They worked through the day taking a short lunch break, completing the job in 95+ degree heat. They provided extra services that were not in the orginal estimate at no extra charge. They did an excellent job.
