 + -1 moreThe men that came to our home were very professional and offered a lot of information. They let me know that the roof may be able to go another year or two which was a pleasant surprise since we have a few other things to do to our house. They examined the attic and offered some suggestions to help with better air flow and moisture removal to prevent mold. The price they quoted included a new layer on two sheds and a roof vent for our upstairs bathroom and a power vent for moisture control. It all seemed very fair compared to other quotes we received. When the time comes to replace our roof we will definitely go with them.

 + -1 moreI would highly recommend Ken for all your roofing needs. He was very professional and prompt with calling me back and answering my questions. He gave me options as to the types of products he could install at different price ranges and tried to get me the best deal possible with rebates. As a single women, navigating roofing contractors can be intimidating, but Ken never talked down to me and answered all of my questions. His team was great and worked very hard to complete the job in just one day. You can tell he is passionate about the finished product and wants to make the customer happy. While his bid did come in on the high end, I felt in the end, he could do the best job and I am very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Ken and his team took off the old roof from 1989 and put on a new Timberline roof and installed two new Velux Skylights. The whole job took one day to complete.

 + -1 moreAlthough Mr. Fantasia was very pleasant on the phone, he completely missed two appointments. On both appointments I waited a very long time to hear back from him. My time is very valuable and I oversee all home improvement matters on behalf of two elderly parents. On the first appointment, I waited 45 minutes before I called Mr. Fantasia to find out where he was. When he returned my call - he apologized and I forgave him. We rescheduled the appointment. On the second appointment I waited (1) hour before I called to find out where he was. After waiting an additional 30 minutes, he finally called me back. So I waited at least (1-1/2 hours) after the scheduled appointment time before I heard back from him. On both missed appointments I initiated the phone call to Mr. Fantasia to find out where he was. He never once picked-up the phone to let me know he'd be running late. On Saturday 5/03/14 after finally calling me back - I let him know that he should have contacted me. I was deserving of a phone call. He said "I had (3) customers and (1) estimate - what do you think?" He wasn't apologetic until I let him know there would be no further appointments. Mr. Fantasia made me feel so insignificant as a prospective customer. My time is very valuable. No prospective client should ever be expected to wait that long for a returned call on a missed appointment by any vendor. I went to Angie's List and found another roofing contractor from the same area. The other roofing vendor immediately received my call. He arrived at my parent's home as promised in exactly 30 minutes. He sent the estimate to my email address on the same day as promised . I was so impressed with the other vendor - I made an immediate decision and was extremely satisfied with every aspect of his work. Maybe Mr. Fantasia's rudeness towards me was a blessing considering how blessed I was having the other vendor do the roofing work.
Description of Work: He was inconsiderate of my time and missed two separate appointments. I had to call him regarding the missed appointments. He never picked-up the phone to tell me that he would be running late. Never - not once!

 + -1 moreHe and his people did a fine job. I was pleased with the work. He seems to specialize in rubber roofs. I had 2 other roofs that were not rubber but conventional that I asked him to look at. The first one that I talked to him about I was not in a hurry so I was not to concerned when He never got back with a cost. But the second one I was needing it to get done fairly quick. Both times he promised to get right back and I never heard form him.

 + 0 moreIt went very well. I called for an estimate and Ken the owner called me right back and scheduled one the next day. Ken and his foreman arrived right on time for the estimate. They were polite and professional. They looked over my roof and gave a detailed estimate. They answered all my questions and explained when and what they would do. They were never pushy. I called several days latter to hire them and to schedual the job. The job was delayed several days because of rain but every time I called Kenny answered or called me back latter that same day. Kenny called 2 days before the job confirmed he was coming and schedualed material to be delvered. They showed up right on time and went right to work. Kenny was on the job site all day and brought me around several times to explain what they were doing. His crew was very hard working and skilled. Everything came out great and no surprises. They cleaned up everything when done and did a great job. I was very happy with the results. Kenny and his crew were professional polite and hard working. They did exactly what they agreed to and did it well. I would highly recommend them.

I had to leave a message, which suggested that possibly I had misunderstood the date or time, or that something more pressing had come up. I never received a return call. I consider this extremely un-professional.

 + -1 moreThe whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. I contacted Ken on November 1st and he was out at my home 2 days later to look the job over. Having known that Ken did a roof for a co-worker and he was completely satisfied with the work, I decided to go ahead and use him. He and his crew arrived bright and early on the morning of November 8th and proceeded to strip 2 layers of old shingles off my house, breezeway and attached garage roof in about an hour's time. I was amazed already. Before putting anything on the roof, Ken explained each part of the process and everything about the high quality materials they'd be replacing my roof with. When the job was finished, it looked absolutely fantastic! I can't say enough good things about his crew. They cleaned up all around my house and you'd never know they just replaced a roof, that very same day. They are beyond efficient. I have peace of mind knowing that this job was professionally done, and with the highest quality materials. I will never have to worry about my roof......for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Ken Fantasia and his crew!

 + -1 moreWe were extremely happy with the work they performed. Ken, the owner, explained each step of the operation. They actually ran into a couple of hidden problems and they replaced that all within the quoted amount. We have a railing around the top of our addition - where the flat roof is and the posts go down through the roof - other contractors said that they would have to remove them - not Fantasia - he told me what would be done (he had a master carpenter (Jay) come on saturday and completely wrapped the exposed part of the posts with Azek - very professional job - told us 2-3 days for completion and it actually took about 3 and 1/2 days because of a couple of rotted pieces of plywood. The overall appearance of the roof is 100x better than it was - it looks classy - we have a hip-roof colonial. They cleaned all the gutters and you would never have known they were ever there! Nice job, Fantasia and Sons

I have never seen a crew work as hard. The job came out wonderful. The owner was very easy to work with, he was upfront with the price. Everything was completed within the day.

 + -1 moreWent very well, but took quite a long time for him to do the work due to so many more damage he had to repair. Took some time to respond to emails. I was a bit disappointed when they claimed that they were done and I found there was a gap which they needed to take care of (close), which they did, now it looks like before. Also the guy had claimed to turn some of the old planks to make it more invisible, which he never even attempted...but the work itself was done very professional, everything cleaned up afterwards and it took them as long as they had promised

 + -1 moreAs in the above statement, we were thrilled overall with the work done by Fantasia and Sons.
Description of Work: We had a huge problem with a porch roof that had been incorrectly put on a few years ago. To find out long after the fact the pitch of the roof was not sloped correctly causing water to back up into the roof eventually causing leaks that went the length of the north facing side of the porch. This most disconcerting. The leaks were just small droplet size at first just in a few isolated of areas. Over the next year or so the leaks became more serious spreading the entire length of the porch. After a rather serious weekend of severe leaking after a rainstorm, I contacted Angie's List for a roofer in the area. Found Fantasia and Sons. Their reviews were excellent. So a call was made. Called them early evening and the very next day Wayne was out surveying the roof, explaining why the leaking was happening due to the pitch of the roof (or lack thereof), what needed to be done in terms that a lay person could understand, and his recommendation and cursory estimate. There were three slanted sides to the roof with the center section the one compromised. A rubber roof was recommended for that center section. They eventually stripped the old roofing off on the center section leaving the other two sides intact as the pitch to those sides were fine. Appreciated the honesty in not gouging for the whole roof when only one section had to be replaced. They replaced rotted plywood towards the top of the roof (not identified at the time of the initial estimated because it wasn't noticeable until the shingles were torn up). Was told about this and the added cost (which the owner was going to waive but we declined the gracious offer as that was our responsibility)...appreciated his candor. Due to a major snow storm just a couple of weeks before with severe, crippling damage to many houses in the area, loss of power for days on end, it took a while to get a team out to work on the roof. Understandable as many houses were in much worse shape than ours. All this was explained to me initially by the gentleman who came to survey the damage saying there could be wait time due to the severity of the storm and the sheer volume of people using this company for repairs and again by the owner of the company a few days later when he called to confirm the work to be done. It was a rough winter! True to his word a two man team showed up at the house starting the one-day start to finish job. Mr. Fantasia showed up mid-morning to check on the progress of the men doing the work. He talked with my family explaining again why they were doing what they were doing. He even looked at our sky-lights explaining the what, why's and wherefores of the new criteria for installing skylights. I was impressed with the message and vowed to have his company come back when a new roof was needed complete with new efficient skylights as ours are years old. The estimate and eventual price of the roof was within the parameters for selecting a company. Enjoyed conversingwith him and his second in charge who did the initial ground work, appreciated them taking the time to answer our many questions explaining in detail our options, how and why things went wrong, and assuring us the work would be top quality. If there was a problem we were told to call him immediately. We've had a few good rainstorms since the installation and we're smiling from ear to ear as the porch sill is dry, no more unsightly towels absorbing the leaks, and no more going out in the middle of the night to check on the state of the porch. We are experiencing peace of mind at a job well done. I/we were very please with Fantasia and Sons and would recommend them wholeheartedly. If and when we need such work done again, I/we would call them again in a heartbeat.

The guys also did a good job of cleaning up after they were done, making sure the ground was free of any nails or other debris from the work. Ken Fatasia was very responsive and worked with me to make sure they did only what was needed. I would definitely call them again for any other work I might need to do.
Description of Work: Had my roof fixed, all new shingles, patched some plywood, new rake board, and reshingled the side of my house.

Description of Work: Needed repairs to roof due to storm damage. Quick, efficient, and great pricing. He also gave me a status on the condition of my roof, told me I should have up to 5 years before I need to reshingle. Doesn't get any better than his service. I will definitely use him again!

 + -1 moreThey showed up on time on a Saturday in freezing cold weather and installed a new roof on one side of my house in record time and just in time to avoid disaster as a major snow storm hit shortly after.
Description of Work: A wind storm had removed a great deal of shingles off of one side of the Hip roof on my 2 family home and another snow storm was due to hit with in a few days. Ken was very competitive with his price and showed up in an emergency on one days notice to do the job.
