Replaced fiberglass shower stall with new tile shower. They were so helpful selecting the right items to blend with our existing flooring and the installation was professional and well-managed. A+ for communication and responsiveness. Highly recommend!

Hired Emerald City for a kitchen renovation that included removal of a load bearing wall. Things fell apart at the job’s completion. Poor communication between the contractor and the designer resulted in design flaws during installation. Sub contractors had to return multiple times due to sub par work that homeowners had to point out to Emerald City. Granite slabs installed by Emerald City with multiple cracks and fissures upon install which Emerald City said we as homeowners should have seen on a cell phone photo sent to us. The biggest issue was when at the completion of the project it was brought to our attention that NO permits were pulled for the project (structural, electrical or plumbing) which Emerald City claimed was not their responsibility, even though they managed the entire project. They refused to resolve so we had to see legal counsel and was finally resolved almost 2 years later. Too many shady business issues to mention including price changes throughout without being told. Save yourself and find an honest business to do your project.

After the job was awarded I made a change in the edge form the original bid thinking it was a one-for-one change. I was told "sure we can do that". The price tag? $875. When did I find out? When the job was done and I got the final bill. When I called them about it? Too bad! As long as everything is competitive with others they are fine. If you make a change after the job it awarded, they will nail you like predators!

They were timely and clean with the installation. I could not be happier with their work. I would highly recommend them.

Very impressed with Emerald City's communication, responsiveness, and quality of workmanship. They had to work in an extremely tight space, both removing the old shower stall, and then building the new one - there was no damage to any part of the bathroom. The new shower looks and works great. I've received many compliments from family and friends.

Emerald City took out all the stops to make sure we had a countertop for Christmas! John came and measured on Tuesday and he was back with his help installing the counters on Friday before Christmas. I especially appreciated their experience and recommendations that led to a gorgeous result. They earned my highest praise and confidence.

It went exactly as expected and as I was told it would go. It took exactly 4 weeks from the start of the project. Emerald City kept in touch with me about who was coming and when I could expect them. I was VERY pleased and will have them do a second bathroom in the Spring.

Emerald City did a fantastic replacing our kitchen. They stuck to their tight schedule which was very impressive. They were professional, reliable, efficient and accommodating. Very good communication with me thru out dicision on counter top. They cut time down for installation by working w other companies to get my quartz in a smaller time frame. Installed it, looks awesome.

We wanted to keep our original Kohler cast iron sink that was in very good condition and was a specialty color. On Emeralds first attempt to insert the sink into the countertop the sink did not fit into the cut-out based on the owners original measurements. Emerald then had to lift out the sink and re-grind on site to fit. The sink was then "dropped' in and job was done. A few days later the front left side of sinks enamel split around sink corner into razor sharp edges which I immediately covered in duck tape to keep anyone from slicing their fingers. The damage totally appeared to be a stress fracture based on the area affected and how the enamel separated from the cast iron. We believe the cause of the damage is Emerald's attempt to insert the sink into a hole that was too small, removing for regrind and then dropping the sink back the re-cut granite. Originally I had called the following day after the install to discuss a few divots in the granite and the best way for me to handle fill-in and I never received any response. The next time we called was to discuss the sink damage and we were immediately told by the office that a worker would be by the next day. We tried to call the owner again to let him know we were calling about sink damage prior to anyone showing up but we never received a call back. The employee did show up the next day to address the divots but he was not prepared to address the sink issue since we did not get a chance to discuss prior to his arrival. The associate stepped outside after speaking to us about replacing the sink and called his employer who called us immediately to tell us it was not his issue and refused to discuss any options or take any responsibility claiming the sink looked fine when he left in which he followed up with an emailed picture of the sink. We agree the sink looked fine when the owner left but the delayed damage did not appear for 3 days and we are positive the handling of the sink prior to getting it to fit into the granite caused the stress fracture although we can not prove this. In the end we had to purchase a new comparable Kohler sink for $800.00. We did not expect the owner to cover the entire cost of a new sink as it was 17 years old but we did think it was only fair to come to some acceptable agreement. Basically the $2,450.00 countertop ended up costing us another $2,000.00 totaling $4,450.00 which covered the countertop purchase and a hired plumber to un-hook and re-hook the plumbing to original sink following the granite install. Then another plumber to pick-up the new sink, un-hook and remove damaged sink and install/hook-up new sink and the disposal of the damaged sink. I will also mention that Emerald scratched the paint off of the top left side of my 1 year old range when they inserted one piece of the countertop that was pointed out when the associate came to look at the other issues. Ongoing I will only hire a company that I am assured will take full responsibility for their workmanship.
