+ 0 moreStrange that he charged for tool rental and truck dispatch. Kept saying how low his labor rate was and that gas for the truck and tools cost money. Labor rate was $80/hr, and didn't seem that low to me. This is a rental home, so I don't have that much first-hand information, but I tried to be careful on costs and quotes. To receive a bill for almost 50% higher cost was startling. Does it really take two plumbers 3 man hours to replace a toilet? I negotiated this bill down to $300, but he told me to call someone else next time.
Description of Work: Toilet was backing up and overflowing. Called to request determine problem and fix. Charged for labor and tool rental, (snake), to clear line. This cost me $115. Line was free, and plumber said toilet was "too old" and didn't work properly, new toilet was needed. Quoted $300 for new toilet. Installed new toilet and charged $425.
