+ -1 moreThey were fabulous. They could have gone through everything and made sure that everything they connected worked. They had to come back again.
Description of Work: We used Gath Electrical. They put in a new fuse box. There was a a lot of wiring to do.

Doug was very friendly and professional from our first interaction through the end of the job, and helpful answering any questions or concerns that we had. They showed up on time, did quality work, and finished the job when they said they would. They handled an issue that they found with the previous electric box quickly and didn't let it delay the work.
Description of Work: Upgraded house electricity from 100 amps to 200 amps, and added a generator interlock kit for future use of a generator.

+ -1 moreI've now hired Gath Electric on three separate occasions and each time it has been a great experience. They are prompt, curteous and always clean up after themselves. I've actually never seen an electrician take so much care to protect everything they work over. I would hire these guys again any day!
Description of Work: Installation of a new panel for AC Service. Installation of two recessed downlights. Installation of electrical plug for new oven. Installation of four pendants. Installation of additional switches and dimmers.

+ -1 moreThe contractor was extremely responsive during my initial contact, especially related to my options for hooking up a generator. We talked thru other reviews, in particular the other current (negative) review, and I was satisfied and confident in my decision. I have had this contractor do two things now at my house, and have no regrets, and definitely would recommend to others. I can't really compare price as I didn't get other quotes, but I believe this to be in the right ballpark based upon what I could find online. The actual work was done in half a day (estimate was 6-8 hrs), from power off til the time they left. Everything was done to my satisfaction, including where the outside inlet plug was for my generator feed, which is about as far from the breaker box as you could possible get in my house. The breaker box and wiring were very professionally installed -- all the wires look neat, unlike my original box, and they labelled all of the circuits. Everything was clean when they left, no spare or dead parts lying around, including them sweeping up any dirt/dust that got dragged in. They showed up on time, were courteous, and explained to me how to use the new interlock kit with a generator.
Description of Work: Replace entire breaker box (and about 30 breakers) due to previous water problems, and add a generator interlock kit to the box to enable safe back-feeding of power during outages.

+ -1 moreAbsolutly a terrible company to do business with, many complaints with this company which I wish I had checked into before I gave money up front. The moral, get references.
Description of Work: The Pepperell Airport contracted Gath Electric in July 2011 to install RV electrical line, RV hook ups, and run new 100 amp service and a new meter for the rv camp ground, and install a 50 amp circuit breaker in RV#1. Gath Electric insisted to be paid upfront in full, which I did..(a big big mistake). A job that Gath estimated to take 2-3 weeks. Once the money was handed over to Gath Electric they disappeared for 2 months, came back to lay the pipe and wire and disappeared again. After repeated telephone calls to ask what the holdup was… they said they would be out the next week to finish up, they NEVER came back and would not return my phone calls. Eleven months later June 2012 Gath hired another electrical company & electrician who came to the Airport to finish the rv hookup, and install the circuit box and 6 circuit breakers. The sub-contractor laid a bear wire underneath the building, not in PVC pipe, which later the Town Inspector stated was not legal. I sent a letter to Gath Electric 3 weeks ago and I have not heard a word, no phone call, no letter, absolutely unacceptable customer service. So, the work was not done correctly, and not done to local code and the Town Electrical Inspector satisfaction, also the 50 amp service was never completed, or the exposed electrical wires, an overall horrible job. A job that should have taken 3 weeks took 11 months, and it still was not done right. Don’t hire Gath Electric.
