Excellent overall experience. I will update my review when the work is complete. I would highly recommend BayState Rebath!
Description of Work: I just wanted to let my fellow Angie's List subscribers know how pleased I was with the professionalism, time and attention I recieved from the folks at BayState Re-bath. The salesman who came to my home (Rick) to give me the estimate was courteous, extremely nice, knowledgeable about every aspect of the companies product and extremely honest about what types of colors and syles might look best in my bathroom. Most importantly, he was not at all pushy about closing the sale. Unfortunately, I had to hold off on the actual installation of my new bathroom. I felt terrible to have to wait and so I called to speak to the owner, Jennifer Bylo. I wanted her to know how fantastic her sales person was and how impressed I am with her product, but that due to a few unforseen circumstances I would have to push the project back a few months. I was also very impressed with the time and personal attention she gave me. Absolutely professional, easy to talk to and understanding. I had a few more question and she even went out of her way to send me a few pictures of a bathroom recently completed in the same material choice I am considering. I cannot wait to get my new bathroom from this fantastic company!

The project did not go well, it took over three months from start to finish. We signed a "contract" at the beginning of August with the salesman telling us that it would take about four weeks to complete the project from the installation start date. Several days later the installer and the plumber arrived to review the site and go over the job. This is when the problems started - their work order was missing several items that were included in the estimate. We spoke to the salesman that evening whereupon he told us he "didn't remember" this work (installing toilets and faucets in additional bathrooms) and since it wasn't written in the contract, ReBath wouldn't be doing the work. We questioned the salesman's competency/honesty with ReBath office personnel which subsequently led to a meeting with the owner of the franchise who straightened things out with the comment that the salesman does not do well with contracts and paperwork. An installer and two plumbers arrived early on September 4 to start the project. After about an hour, water started running through the kitchen ceiling below the bathroom. It turned out that one of the plumbers carelessly did not completely close a shut off valve before cutting water pipes under the vanity. Plaster came down and there were several large water stains on the ceiling. Someone from the office assured us they would send someone to repair the damage. The installer said someone else would have to come at a later date to install the exhaust fan as he couldn't do it. This turned out to be a good thing as it provided the chance to closely inspect the new exhaust fan which turned out to be a less expensive model than the one for which we paid. - more bad paperwork? It was several more weeks before they sent people to install the correct exhaust fan and repair the ceiling. The ceiling was patched and paint touched up but looked so bad, the entire ceiling had to be painted again - this took numerous phone calls and more weeks. There were several problems with shower enclosure parts missing and incorrect parts causing further delays.
Description of Work: Replace shower unit with new base and surround. Also, install new toilets, new lav faucets, new bathroom exhaust, new sinks, new granite vanity top, new glass shower doors.

It went fine but ended up being a whole week because we sprung a leak in the plumbing and had to find it in our kitchen ceiling below. They tore several holes in the ceiling, found the leak, and then came back and gave us a whole new plastered ceiling! We did have a new shower in 24 hours. The floor tiling took another two days with toilet hookup. Overall I was still pleased with Re-Bath. The four workers were very professional.
Description of Work: Remove bathtub and surrounding tile; remove sink and toilet and remove existing floor tile. Put in new surround and tub. Put in a floating floor for new floor surface. Layed new tile. Installed new toilet and came back once our sink cabinet came in by another source to install plumbing. We bought our toilet, vanity, sink top, and mirror to find exactly what we wanted. The man who did the surround surface and tub did an excellent job. Looks fabulous!

The work was done as scheduled with minimum disturbance to the household. The workers were pleasant, neat, knowledgeable and efficient. We were very pleased with both the process and the results. In addition, they were very prompt in coming out to repair a small leak which occurred six months later. Excellent service and very professional!
Description of Work: After a discussion with their planner which was very comprehensive and useful, two bathrooms were remodeled. In one, the tub was covered and in the other the tub was removed and replaced with a shower. In both cases, the existing tile was covered and the toilets replaced. The floor was replaced, as were the vanity and medicine cabinet, in one, In both, the exisiting counter tops were used. In addition, the ceilings above the shower and tub were covered as was a well from a skylight. New covers for the baseboard heating were also installed.

How NOT to do business, by: BAYSTATE RE BATH, 419 WORCESTER RD, Framingham, MA 01701 1- When a potential customer asks about ideas and pricing for their 1 (and maybe even) 2 bathrooms, do not insist that the customer needs to come all the way out to their showroom.2- When said potential customer does shlep his whole family out there from the North Shore on a week-end, do have answers for them about pricing, ideas, suggestions, etc... And do not give them a hard time about booking an appointment, saying that if they are going to make an appointment, that they really need to stick to it, as 'you'd be surprised how many times customers just aren't there when they say they are going to be'.3- Then, when an appointment for someone to come out and look over the bathroom(s) is made, and the customer's schedule has been re-arranged to keep this appointment (see #2), do not call the day before to say they need to cancel and need to reschedule.4- And finally, do not NO-SHOW on the rescheduled appointment! No call, no email, no nothing. Only no-show.
Description of Work: Thank goodness we did not give them a dime.

Hi Member, Thank you for the feedback. Any feedback, including negative, can only help to grow a more successful business. We hate to walk away from business but I do agree with your choice to go elsewhere now. As a consumer myself I would have walked away from this situation. Best of luck with your remodel in the future and rest assured I have terminated the employee who no-showed to your home. We were unaware he missed the appointment until you posted here so thank you for bringing it to light. We have however done over 6,000 jobs in this area and have plenty of satisfied customers and I am sorry you did not get the same experience as the others.

Once all available fixture and fittings were available the work was completed over one week without interruptions. The workmen were courteous and cleaned up the area each evening when the day was complete. Two weeks after the job was finished the stone threshold cracked and the came back within several days to replace the part.

Hi Member, I understand your frustration with this but ball parking is a very dangerous game. In the construction field nothing is ever set in stone. The same project in two different homes can vary by thousands depending on the condition of the existing home. We do not ballpark because without seeing your home and any number we give you would be a lie and set unrealistic expectations for you. We do not want to be the type of company that low-balls you to get a contract and then suddenly bills you for an extra 5,000. We deal in facts and exact quotes to protect you as a consumer.

Both the bath remodeling person and the plummer came the first day to take away our old tub and shower tiles, vanity, and toilet. The shower area was given new insulation, a rubberized product backing before the actual acrylic wall and tub and ceiling overhead area were installed. All work on the tub and wall area of the shower was completed and installed by early afternoon. Next day the floor man came and took out the flooring, leveled the floor and then put down our floating tile flor with a helper. The next day the plummer came back and installed our toilet (bought by us). Unfortunately our first vanity was damaged in transit (our purchase) and it arrived much later than the project was projected to be completed (3 days), but Re-Bath came back and installed as soon as we received the cabinet to install the vanity and sink. We are very pleased with the outcome and work performed by the Re-Bath team. We made a great choice by hiring Re-Bath to renovate our bathroom.
Description of Work: Removal of old shower. Prepare walls and floor for new install of acrylic tub with acrylic wall surface tile and shower ceiling providing bath accessories such as shower knobs, curtain rod, trim molding, shower shelves and soap dish area and towel bar. Level floor and put in rubberized floating floor tiles with grout. Removal of all old bathroom items for a complete gut area and install new toilet and vanity sink with granite top (both provided by customer). Estimated time of completion - 3 days.

We had damage from an incorrect installation of a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom by the person who "flipped" our condo. The jacuzzi tub was the type that needed a surround built in, and this was not done. So the tub was not supported, and was cracking. We contacted Baystate ReBath through our local Home Depot, and ReBath came out, did an inspection, took measurements, and gave us an estimate to repair the damage, put in their acrylic wall system, and replace the tub. The price was much more than reasonable, so we decided to let them do the work. The contractor arrived early on the morning of the job, and started work immediately. After he had been working for a couple of hours, the plumber came in. This was perfectly arranged timing as he could start work immediately. The damage caused by the first installation had caused damage to my downstairs neighbor's condo ceiling. She was going to wait to get repairs done, and we asked her if we could have access to her place in case the plumber needed to get through the ceiling. Thank goodness we did, as when they pulled the old tub out, he found that the original plumber had never had the drain line connected! The drain line was throwing water every time the jacuzzi was used! The plumber had to climb up through my neighbor's ceiling to connect the drain line correctly. To do this, he had to pull out the damaged wood and other materials above her ceiling. He covered her floor and other surfaces very well, pulled all this material out, did the work, and did such a good job cleaning up that you couldn't tell he had been there! Both men stayed until late that evening to finish up the entire job in one day. They kept every promise made, even with the extra work caused by the damage, and were very professional, courteous, and made sure that all was clean before they left. They also explained all their work, and all warranties, answered questions about the materials used, and gave us tips on care. We were so pleased with the work then, and nearly two years later, we are still pleased. Wonderful work. We recommend them to everyone.
Description of Work: The old jacuzzi tub was removed, and the lower tiles surrounding the tub. Damaged flooring was removed and replaced, incorrect plumbing was corrected, and improved on. New tub was installed, acrylic wall system was installed over existing tiles, and new plumbing fixtures were installed. Safety rail, shower rail and shelving was added to tub enclosure.

I'm glad I had it done, it is a pleasure to take a shower in the bathroom. Their was no mess left behind. The price was a bit more than I wanted to pay but I was desperate for the work to be done and I do feel they did a great job and it was worth it in the long run.
Description of Work: The shower had a lot of water damage behind the walls. It was a long wait time. When we first signed the contract they said it would be 6-8 weeks but it ended up being 12 weeks and so I was not happy with that. They were a couple of follow up things that they had to take care of and we had to chase them for that. They finally did do them but it was a little bit of an effort. When we agreed on a date they came when they said they would.

They were very good, but we did have a few issues. They came and did the quote and they arranged to come and do the work. The whole point of going with them and why we chose them was because they could do the refit in one day. I was expecting a second child at the time and I wanted it all finished within a certain time. We did change the day and they were really accommodating on that. We were really pleased with all of that. We scheduled the day and I went into labor early so it had to be rescheduled. They were very good about that. When they actually came to do the refit, they realized that they had the wrong tile or the wrong material so they couldn't complete it and they left. They did all the plumbing work and the fittings but they couldn't put the liner on the walls. They sealed it all off and it was fine. They came back a second time and they were going to fit the bath as well because we wanted to do it all at one time so that they could seal it. Then they realized the bath wasn't right, so they had to come back a third time. What should have been a one day fit went on to three days. They were very professional about it. They were very apologetic and they gave us a discount offer. In the end they did a great job so we were really happy with the job they did. They cleaned up after themselves really well. Even though it was inconvenient for us to have it sealed with a new baby in the house, we are overall still pleased with them. There were mistakes that they made. They could have done it right the first time. I felt the price was on the expensive side, but we were going with the convenience of having it all fixed in one day. They did a good job. They were very responsive. They called ahead when they were coming. When we called them, they called right back. Even though there were some errors on their part, they were very professional and took care of it really well.
