Due to the bad weather this winter, we had to reschedule a couple times. She was very flexible. When she came to the house we asked her opinion on what she thought we should do with the kitchen windows which were double pane and had failed. We also asked about adding a garage. She had good suggestions on both issues.

She was very nice and professional, very polite in answering my questions and referred me to someone who could provide the service.

I didn't like that one at all. I felt they were kind of unprofessional, the product they gave me was unprofessional and they tacked on four and a half hours for a very simple computer output (that I could have done) without my permission. So I'm not happy with that outcome. I figured i "ate it" and I didn't pay them the balance because they were never authorized. I feel I didn't get what I paid for.

I purchased this Deal for a kitchen project, which project fell through for reasons unrelated to the architect. So I had to change horses mid-stream, with no reflection on the provider. The architect visited our home and prepared several proposals which seemed fine, but did not advance my new project materially. I paid an additional fee - to which I agreed - because between visiting my home and preparing those proposals, the architect took more time than the Deal allowed. The medium grade I gave is no reflection on the architectural skills of the provider. I do not have enough experience with the provider, whom I did not hire for additional services to shepherd the project to completion. My grade is based on the architect's comment that she would need a second architect to come and take measurements. Only after I explained my time frame would not allow that delay did she take measurements herself. It wasn't clear to me why she didn't just take the measurements herself in the first place. I feel extremely uncomfortable providing this review, and am doing so solely because Angie's List simply will not leave off asking for a review and does not accept "no comment." Although I love Angie's List, I also give them a "B" grade in this particular case. Please give us an option to not review a provider, so we don't spend eternity saying "not now" to your repeated requests for a review. At least now - I assume - I will no longer be pestered to make a review of this provider.

They did what they said the would do. We kind of gave them our thoughts and they retold them back instead of give us other ideas or what we could and could not do. They did not really provide any new ideas. They were very responsive.

They did a good job. Scheduling an appointment was good. There was one architect doing the consultation with me.

It was okay. I had them work on the kitchen with a possible addition. I think the nature of the deal was just more of an advisory. They told me what was possible. It was fine but not extensive. I was satisfied with the scheduling and the follow up.

I didn't use them I had three meetings with them. A woman came at one time and a man came at another time and that used up pretty much two of the three hours. It was a three hour deal. I only had an hour to put towards the actual plan. It was too expensive for me to do. I ended up not using it. It would have been better honestly if they had both come together. The second one was really probably much more necessary. The first one was not very necessary, I don't think. That would be probably the only feedback that I would have. I talked to him on the phone, I told her what I wanted and she came. I showed her my house. Then the guy that came, we did the same thing but at a greater level of detail. My interaction was fine. I don't really have any experience. I didn't pay additional on top of the big deal. The woman that came out was nice but it was a waste of time. The gentleman that came out seem to have some ideas. I would get probably someone else and then maybe do a comparison if I'm going to go forward with getting the plans. I don't know if I will use them again.

The service was good. We got the actual cost right away. We were able to schedule an appointment that same week. He was very prompt and very thorough. It was a good explanation of initial possibilities for our project which our attic is usable. It was a little challenging to convey what we wanted possibly to do. It was a little hard speaking with them. That was my only complaint but he was very professional, very thorough, very friendly and nice.

She had good ideas and helped us gel our thinking as well.

Artois principal Jane Estella spent over an hour touring the house and we talked about next steps. The company's designer is waiting for me to make an appt for measurements.

We hired them to help give us ideas but they was asking us what we wanted done.

He had several good ideas but in the end he provided to me only what I originally had in mind. I had asked if he could do any of the additional ideas he had from the start and he said it would be at an additional $125 per hour. I would like it if he would provide me with some of the new ideas that we initially discussed. At this time, I would grade the value of the deal a D as we had good discussions about the project but nothing after that. I would use them again if they could make the deal worth while.

Artios laid the groundwork for what was going to be a major renovation. Bob came out and did an initial measure of the existing floor plan. A couple days later he provided three proposed floor plans complete with awnings and furniture layout. It was very helpful and I found it to be a fair deal. I would use them again if I need them.

Jane met us at my daughter's new house. We discussed kitchen remodel, including the removal of a wall, powder room addition, laundry room addition and attic conversion. Jane offered good advice. We will be meeting with her again when we are ready to move forward with the remodel.

My wife and I have met with both Jane and Bob several times and they have met us at our home for all consultations. Both Jane and Bob have provided us with valuable input with our home design. We have met with Bob several times and he has been both prompt and accommodating at incorporating changes (And there have been a lot of them!) and sending new CAD sketches. Bob is extremely knowledgable with building codes and home construction and seems to enjoy sharing his knowledge. We truly enjoy working with both of them and look forward to finishing our dream home project alongside Artios. I would recommend Artios if you are looking for a very reasonably priced, hardworking architectural firm who will see to it that your ideas are realized.

we had another architect do the plans

She was very nice. I told her upfront that this was not going to happen any time soon since I didn’t have the money. I just wanted someone in the profession to let me know if it seemed reasonable. She said she thought it would work and offered to help me if I ever have the money.

We hired Artios for remodeling project of our home that we had just purchased. The work largely involved just drafting and calculation of the specification for beam and supports. The engagement started by first call with Jane E - who was responsive and scheduled an appointment for Bob R to come out in the following week. The interaction with Bob was pleasant he spent an over an hour surveying the house and taking measurements and in small talk. He provided a date for delivery, I requested if it could be done sooner and he said he would try. He said it would take him 6-7 hours to develop plans for both floors.At that point, I suggested that he prepare plans for only one floor since the second floor did not involve removal of walls. I also provided electronic copy of the existing plans, which he said would make it easier. Over the next day or two Bob followed up by email with a few questions about dimensions of the appliances, which I provided including link to the appliance specifications. A few days later, I followed up and he said he would be done soon. We met a couple of days later to collect the plans and make payment. At the time of the exchange there were two disappointments - he said he meant it would take 6-7 hours in addition to the time he'd spent at the house. While I have no way of knowing how much time was actually spent, I felt it was a bit too much especially given we had significantly reduced the scope from two floors to a single floor. The second and bigger disappointment was that in spite of providing specifications for the appliances, they were not accurately incorporated in the plans. We had planned a recess in the wall for the refrigerator - the plans drawn up by Bob had 4 inches more than required by the specifications. When I asked Bob why that was the case, Bob's response was he didn't look into the detailed specs.

She was very nice and professional and offered some very good insight as to what we need to change in our home and some options we might consider. While she was there she was able to draw some sketches freehand from our previous house plans that helped give us something to consider. We had a little bit of difficulty scheduling as she was coming from a significant distance and needed to travel through Boston and wanted to schedule at a time that traffic was not an issue. Besides that, this special offer was well worth taking advantage of.

It went very well. When we are ready to move ahead with the remodelling, we will use them do develop the required plans and coordinate the construction.

He measured the kitchen and bathroom. He was very knowledgable and creative. He gave us great suggestions.
