John and his crew came promptly. The work was done professionally and efficiently. It all went very smoothly.

The price was very good. The quality of the work was ok. I bought the window and paid for all material, he just did the installation. You get what you pay for. I thought it was going to go well. He thought he could do 3 to 4 a day but he could only do 1 to 2 a day, which was ok because I prefer a good job over a quick job. The installation on the outside was B work but on the inside, I am still fixing stuff up. He was very responsive.

I contacted US Home Improvement for an estimate to replace a bow window in the front of my house. They were very responsive, answered the phone when I called, and scheduled an appointment right then for the next week. John Jr came out, was right on time, answered all my questions. One thing that surprised me was that he didn't try to promote a certain brand of window, or have one of those cross cut sections to try and explain his preferred product to me, but that's not important, just surprised me. John Jr left, promising to email me a quote within a few days, which he did. His pricing was higher than the other estimate I had gotten by about 15%. The "C" in professionalism stems from the proposal he sent me. He spelled my name wrong, and made quite a few gramatical errors. It made me wonder if he's that careless with my first impression of his work, how's the real thing going to come out. .

They were on time, very neat, and did excellent work. It was a positive experience. The quality of the windows were good.

John was very quick to come out to our house and reviewed the problem of water intrusion around some windows in our 1 year old house. He agreed to provide us with a quote for what likely would have needed to be done to prevent water intrusion at the windows, so that we would had something for discussions with our Builder. Not too many contractors were willing to do that when they heard it is for a warranty dispute with our Builder. The Builder finally was forced by the Building Commissioner to repair the windows, otherwise we would have hired John to do the repairs for us.

John Carrol supervised the work in person throughout the process. When parts arrived sooner he installed them sooner. His team was professional, polite and clean. There were no hidden surprises or extra costs during or after the installation. On the contrary, there were a few fixes that John did not have to do and he did it any how just as part of the service. I am very picky when it comes to contractors. Honesty has been my number one consideration. I would not go anywhere else for doors or windows.

Working with John and his crew was a great experience. We felt John gave us an honest bid (we had three bids total) with a fair price. We felt that he did not try to talk is into spending more money and in fact actually told us that some things we wanted to do were not cost effective. By redesigning some of our plan he saved us a few thousand dollars. His timeline was right on as he told us when the windows would be in and called ahead to schedule his team to arrive. They were always here when they said they were going to be. The job took about two weeks and the team worked really hard to get it done on time. The only complaint we have about their work is the mess of screws and sharp objects left in the yard. However, we were able to clean that up ourselves relatively quickly. Once the windows were put in, two of the panes cracked. John has been great about getting us a new pane and installing them. We really loved working with John and his crew and would highly recommend them.

The experience with U S Home Improvement was excellent from start to finish. Mr. Carroll came to do an estimate just a few days after my initial call. I had four other companies come to give me estimates. Mr. Carroll's estimate was the lowest cost of all the estimates but that was not why I chose his firm. He took the greatest care in measuring the windows, explained the benefits of the Alside windows and was the most professional in his presentation. I called his company because he had so many A ratings in Angie's List. After they finished the windows in one room but had not finished installing all the windows I could hear and feel the difference the Alside Windows made. The room was quieter and warmer. I could not hear street sounds and I live on a very busy street. Mr. Carroll patiently showed me twice how to open in windows for cleaning and how to remove the screen in spring to put the air conditioner in for the summer.John carefully removed and saved the holders for the window shades then after the window was installed replaced the holders and shades. One of the windows had an old air conditioner which weighed a ton. John cheerfully took it out to a dumpster in the back of the building. This was way above and beyond what he was required to do and a tremendous help to me. If Angie had an A+ rating I would give it to everyone with U S Home Improvement. I already recommended the company to a unit owner down the hall who ordered new windows from them.

John, the owner, came to give us an estimate and show us his windows. He was very pleasant, explained the job, answered all of our questions and put NO PRESSURE on us to use his company - very refreshing after dealing with representatives from few bigger companies. We asked him about replacing the windows from outside of the house to save the inside frames and although this was not his usual approach he agreed to do it that way. His crew came on time- actually they were early, they were professional, efficient and fun. The job was done in a day and half only because the rain made the crew finish little early the first day. We were extremely impressed by this company and the amount of expertise John and his crew presented. Would use them again!

These guys were great. They were very pleasant and easy to deal with. Though I had a smaller job they still replied my calls and followed up on time when my windows came in. They did a great job installing the windows and even replace some of the frame for me. Overall I was extremely happy with their work and the whole process.

I dealt with John Carroll, the owner. There are a lot of companies to choose from in this space. I liked John's laid back, no nonsence approach. He's been doing this for a number of years and his experience shows. I might have been able to save a few bucks with another company, but the quality of materials and workmanship that US Home Improvement provided was well worth the investment.

This was an excellent company to work with. John, the owner, came out to look at the job and gave an estimate. He was very professonal, down to earth, and efficient. No long or pressure sales job. They used good quality windows. They come twice, first for four windows and then for another three because we were so happy with the first four. John came to the jobs with two of his employees and all were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They removed all of the old windows and storms and took care in insulating, installing, and caulking in the new windows. They performed a thorough cleanup that included washing the new windows and cleaning up floors, etc. The works was done when promised and scheduling was very efficient. I recomend this company very highly and will use them again for any furutre window needs.

They said the cost would be to expensive to replace the windows and said I should just replace the mirrors. They were very good.

No complaints about the job--all done in about four hours.

They responded quickly and came out as promised quickly. However, after arriving, we just got the feeling that they weren't interested in doing the work; we were thinking of switching the door to a standard size but they indicated that would be more expensive so really discouraged that (while other companies have given me estimates to do both options so that I could decide) . They did some measurements, etc. and said they'd call with an estimate (needing to go find a door since ours was not a standard size). We never heard further from him. We already have selected a contractor that we like so no harm done but not the level of service I was expecting from a Company so highly rated on Angie's List! I would not contact them again for any future work.

The owner John Carroll responded to our request for an estimate. He showed the window unit described above and explained all the details and components of the window and the installation process. We talked about the time for fabrication and the time for the installation. He applied the Angie's discount to arrive at a reasonable estimate. This was not the lowest estimate we received. It was the second lowest bid. We chose this contractor because of the high quality window and his excellent reputation from Angie's list. After the windows were ordered our tenant expressed concern about the lead dust that may be present during installation, John came back to the house to drop off a copy of the EPA Lead Hazard info booklet and his Lead-Safe Renovation License. He explained that he would follow the procedure in the booklet and contain the work area in each room with heavy plastic and tape. Also all furniture would be covered. The process would minimize dust and his cleanup would meet the EPA post-renovation cleaning requirements. This set our mind at ease. Fabrication took about 4 weeks and they were ready to do the work the following week. John arrived with his crew of 6 additional men to do the work. They were all qualified and pleasant to work with. The inside crew wore white coveralls including shoe coverings. They removed all window coverings like blinds and shades and they were happy to replace them. One other contractor, the highest bidder Rite Window, would not do this type work, US Home did the work as John had promised and completed 12 window replacements the first day. The second day (less than full) they completed all windows and spent extra time on their final cleanup. We pointed out a few things after our inspection and John had it taken care off right away. All in all everything went as expected and we were very pleased with our experience with US Home Improvement.

He came out shortly after we called him to measure and then provided us with a very reasonable quote. As soon as the windows arrived John called to schedule the service and replaced all windows without incident. We are very happy with his work and would hire him again without any hesitation.

The guys who did the work showed up on time and were very pleasant. They got the work done as scheduled and the work looked very nice. The tenants in the home were very happy.

Our experience with US Home Improvement and its' owner, John Carroll was excellent. We talked with several other contractors but John stood out because of his aggressive pricing, the high quality of materials used and his low key yet no nonsense approach to this major renovation. All the work was completed in just over one week. We found the company on Angie's List and made the appointment to meet John a few days after talking with him on the phone. His crew are professional, courteous, hard working, efficient and obviously take pride in their craftsmanship. John or his assistant were always present to direct the work. They also follow through after the job is completed, as evidenced when the foreman returned to adjust the mechanism that allows one of the bow windows to open. This was adjusted just 24 hours after we noticed the malfunction. I highly recommend US Home Improvement and would suggest that anyone who plans to replace their windows, doors or install siding include this company in the quotation process. You will not be disappointed!

They came when they said they would and finished the job within the time frame they said they would. The serviceman that came was very friendly.

We've needed windows for some time, and I put out a request for estimates through an internet service. I found one company I liked, but when I checked them out on Angie's List I ran the other way as fast as I could. I then searched "windows" on Angie's List and found John Carroll and U. S. Home Improvement. John came to the house within a day or two of my call, looked at our situation - non-standard sized windows, two curved windows, and some rot in the sills. We discussed the wood v vinyl issues, and decided we'd probably want to go with vinyl. After thinking about things for a day, we called John Carroll back and asked him to bring a sample window, and come take measurements and give us an estimate. He returned on the day we requested, took the measurements, and gave us a firm estimate on the spot. We gave him a deposit of $1000 and asked him to order the windows. He told us that he would try to get them in before Christmas, but warned us that they might be delayed by the holidays. Well, lo and behold, this past Tuesday, three weeks after our first conversation, John called to say he'd be installing the windows yesterday, and expected to have them in in a day. He and his crew arrived promptly at 8 a.m. Wed., and promised, and, after moving breakables out of the way, and putting down plastic sheeting and carpet runners, started on the third floor and worked their way down, working until 4 p.m. when it got dark. The job went a bit slower than Carroll expected, because of some difficulty in removing the five-and-a-half foot high windows in the livingroom. But by the time they finished the first day, the three third-floor windows were completed, as was one of the second floor windows. Two other second floor windows were in place, as was one of the livingroom windows - one of the original windows remained. This morning at 8 a.m. the crew returned, finishing the job by 2:30 p.m. The windows were all beautifully installed, everything was cleaned up, and the only way to know they had been working on the house for two days was the presence of the eight new windows - which are fully guaranteed for as long as we own the house, and a pro-rated warantee transfers to the next owner of the house. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism and politeness of John Carroll and every member of his crew. Fifteen years ago, when we bought this house, we went through the eight-month-rennovation-from-h***, so I know how hideously these things can go. This experience was just the opposite - so much so that I am having John return after the first of the year to replace some gutters.

It was excellent - completely worry-free.

US Home Improvement (Jon Carroll) installed 3 large replacement windows in my main rooms in fall of 2009. They were efficient, professional, prompt, and did a good clean-up job; cost of work was middle range; and windows 2 years later seem fine. So I turned to them for windows to enclose my small rear porch area. Jon gave a decent estimate and remembered that I insist on full screens : ) . While he was there I asked him to estimate for drywalling and also for subfloor work if I decided to do that. I chose not to have those jobs done by anyone, but Jon was good about explaining what work would need to be done, how cost would be figured etc. Back to windows: All seemed to go smoothly until the day the windows were to be installed: I'd taken the morning off work, and noticed that, right after Jon and helpers arrived, they unloaded and unpacked the larger of the two windows and then left on the sidewalk while installing the smaller one. When they had finished installing the smaller window, Jon told me that the larger window was the wrong size and that they'd have to get another one from the factory and come back a second time to install it. He told me this only then, after I had spent the morning off work hanging around. I said I wished Jon had told me this before beginning the job, when they first discovered that the window was the wrong size. They could then have taken both windows back without installing either, waited (a couple of weeks) for the right-sized window to be delivered from the factory, and then come back on a differnt day to do both windows at once. Jon said that'd mean they'd have to make 2 trips and would have to store the smaller window while waiting for the right-sized larger one. I said they had to make 2 trips anyway, and the way they'd chosen to do it meant that **I** had to take two mornings off work instead of one. Which I didn't appreciate. Jon should have told me at the outset that the factory had made the wrong-sized window. I wouldn't have minded waiting another couple of weeks for the whole job to be done. As it was, I had to wait another couple of weeks AND disrupt my life twice in order to accommodate US Home Improvement's two visits. I can understand not checking the size of windows US Home Improvement first receives them because they're packed for transportation. But Jon realised the mistake very early on once they arrived at my place. He should have informed me of it also very early on and thus allowed me to make the choice about how the complete job should be scheduled. So that's why the total performance gets a B. Now that both windows are installed, they seem fine, and price and quality of work are reasonable.
