The workmanship seems pretty good so far. The attitude of the workers was ok. They were not super detailed, so there is still some residual debris, not big debris. They seemed ok. Their follow up isn t the best. They don t always call back. The work is fine, though.
Description of Work: They redid my roof which included repairs to the joyce.

The job was a study in frustration. The initial estimate was $4,500.00. I signed a contract and paid a third of the price. Work was begun in September, 2007. After the roof had been removed, the roofers said they could not continue until carpenters provided a new estimate for work on the supporting beams. The carpenters provided a new open contract which said they would charge by the hour ( $45.00/hr) and materials. I agreed because I had signed the original contract and now the area requiring repair had no roof. The majority of the work was completed in December, 2007. However, while the trim panels and frames above the roof were replaced, they were never painted. The rain spouts were never replaced, and the ones that were taken off were never removed from the property. The ceiling Sheetrock was replaced and given one primer coat of paint. Because the work was so sporadic, the job was suspended after the work in early December. I began calling again in March and spoke to the foreman carpenter. He promised to finish. I called twice more but never heard from him. As a consequence I asked another contractor to replace the rain spouts and paint the panels.
Description of Work: Initially I requested an estimate for repair of a garage roof that had leaked, causing the ceiling to fall in two areas. The work involved removal and replacement of the old roof, removal and replacement of the underlying beams and removal and replacement of the Sheetrock ceiling. In addition, water damage had affected the trim on bump windows above the roof, so the trim had to be replaced and painted. The rain spouts which ran down to the garage roof and into the beams were removed.

Another company that I had out for an estimate was suggesting a lot of extra vent work on the roof. When Olympic came out, they told me that work was not necessary. There honesty gave me confidence, and made me feel good about choosing them. They came out promptly and answered all of my questions. The work was done well and they cleaned up after themselves. I was at work when they were at my house doing the job. After they did the work and I came home, I discovered that they had used the wrong shingle color. I called them, and they said right away that they would replace them. He said he would give me a call back, and after 2 weeks of not hearing from them, I called 4 more times, and never received a return call. I was surprised when I received a bill in the mail, without any of this being resolved. I decided to call the BBB since they were obviously not responding. After I submitted my complaint with the BBB, Olympic Painting and Roofing was very quick to respond. They gave me an option of having the work replaced or receiving a 25% discount on the bill. I opted for the discount since I was unwilling to have them on my roof again. It started so well, but I was so disappointed that they ignored me after there was a problem.
Description of Work: I had damage from a storm, and there was a hole torn in the roof line. I contracted them to put slate shingles on the roof (It was written on the contract what color the shingles were to be).

I got a well listed estimate explaining everything. The material and dumpster came, and the next day the crew hit the house. The crew was great, careful, able, and clean. Everything went great! Then the siding and gutter team came in. Different story here. One hour of work here, one hour there, then two days off, then put up staging on the sidewalk, then two days off. Big pile of siding and gutters on the sidewalk and neighbor's driveway edge. TONS of nails on ground. 4:30 they showed up to work, in the dark, (November in Boston) and put up the bulk of the gutters. Stepladder ripped shingles, corners leaked the next day, some hanging. Power line dangling... Phone calls met with ''I'll tell them to fix it, don't worry''... for a couple weeks now. BOTTOM LINE: Call them for a ROOF, get the gutter guy, siding guy, whoever else, yourself. They have no control over their subs. Roof Review = A All Other Work Done = D or F The sub, and how they controlled him, ruined this.
Description of Work: Stripped two layer asphalt shingle roof on house and six car garage. Drip edge, water shield, flashing, paper, and replace with new 25 yr. shingles. Leaded and pointed chimney. Pulled up tar and gravel porch roof and replaced with rubber. Added facia board where needed (whole house) and replaced gutters around main house and downspouts. Stripped wood off four dormers and replaced with vinyl siding.
