Everyone, office, estimator (Fred), installers was very professional. We were very happy choosing them, 1, Very accommodating arranging estimate. 2. Even challenging areas were not a problem. 3. Called day before to confirm service provider names. 4. Called after to make sure we were satisfied. 5. Everything was kept very neat. 6. Insisted on replacing screen that had small amount of foam on it.

March and Martin did an amazing job of applying a closed cell spray foam insulation to the underside of an existing roof in a finished home. The house is a mid-century modern design with no attic, so the affected ceiling was directly in the living area. The ceiling had moisture and mold issues and was removed by others, exposing the 8" joists and underside of roof. March and Martin came in and carefully taped poly sheeting throughout the entire top floor of the house--walls and floors--such that there was no over-spray on any surface when they were done. They completed the project in a week, while the family had vacated the premises. The 2-3 workers per day were punctual, worked carefully, and left the house spotless when complete (the shavings from the ceiling over-spray make a mess). The scheduler in the office communicated with the homeowner prior to the project to make sure the project proceeded as planned and promptly returned calls. March and Martin was also much more competitively priced than another firm I had also quote the job. I would highly recommend March and Martin for any insulation project.

Everyone there was excellent and very responsive. Great pricing. The installers arrived right on time and did a very thorough and professional job. Good clean up and good communication throughout the install (I was home for it). Insulation was sprayed on underside of roof from knee wall to ridge, knee walls, gable walls, and under the floor (from the 1st floor). Where desired, the foam was trimmed flush with strapping. Room is airtight now and maintains temp very well.

March & Martin were professional in explaining the process and answered all questions upfront. On the day of the service, the technicians went over every step and addressed all concerns. When the technicians completed the job we could feel the difference right away since it was on the south side of the house. The old fiberglass insulation could not create a tight enough seal to keep the roof heat out of the second floor. I will use March & Martin for all my future spray foam needs.

We are in the process of building a 35 x 36 addition on a home that we renovated over the winter. We were at the point where we needed to have the insulation completed. We did the main house in spray foam insulation last fall and were now at the point that we needed to have this addition insulated. Due to the extremely harsh winter we had, all of the nsulation contractors I called were extremely booked out for weeks just to come out and give an estimate. I got 4 estimates. Price was not my only deciding factor, however March & Martins price was the most reasonable of all 4 and the gentleman they sent out to do the estimate was very professional and courteuos. After reviewing the estimates I decided to use March & Martin. I was told that they could not do the job until October 7th when I called to schedule. I explained my dilemna to Andrea in their office and told her our entire project would be held up until this could be done. We were already months past our estimated date of completion on this project.. Andrea went out of her way and managed to get us scheduled for August 26th. They went the extra mile to help us out. the job was completed in three days and I could not be happier with the quality of the work, the professionalism of the crew and overall performance of the entire company. My husband is a buildign inspector and has been recommending them for years. Now I see why. We are very satisfied customers, and my husband the inspector is not an easy guy to please. He expects quality work from any contrsctors that we hire, and that is exactly what we got.

We are very happy with their work. Their estimator was very helpful explaining the different types of spray foam, and gave us a quote for all of them. The office was very responsive answering questions and scheduling the work in lieu of our carpenter. The two workers that actually performed the work were also very courteous, and clean everything up upon completing the work. We are very please with them, and intend to use them in the future.

Last winter the monster icicles and potential ice dams on our home convinced me that it was time to improve the attic insulation in our 1992 home. I initially contacted March & Martin after a strong recommendation from several employees of my HVAC company. Russ came out to look at the job. He was thorough, easy to talk with, very knowledgeable, and happy to answer my many detailed questions. After a rough period of figuring out what was required by our town building inspector, working around vacation schedules of various people involved, and figuring out how to work the building permit process, we finally scheduled the work. Throughout the process Andrea in the office was unfailingly competent, pleasant, and flexible as we worked it all out. The work was supposed to take up to three days, probably two, and possibly one. The first day two installers arrived on time and we discussed exactly how everything would be done. I was concerned about ensuring that the finished areas of our home not get dirty from the hoses, fans, and walking through the home to get to the attic. The installers were very easy to work with, satisfied all my concerns, and I felt comfortable leaving our home in their hands. When I returned later in the day about 2/3 of the foam had been installed. The next day everything also went well and the work was completed that afternoon. I got what I expected in every way. As far as I can tell the foam was properly installed and will perform as promised. The remaining odor was minimal and less of a problem than I expected, and the finished areas of our home were clean. Everyone I dealt with from start to finish were competent, friendly, accommodating, and did just what I expected. The only problem with the whole process was the considerable delay and the effort it took on my part to get everything worked out. However I think that these problems are attributable to some one-time problems that are not likely to be repeated. Everyone worked hard and did what they could to resolve issues that wouldn't arise normally. Consequently I have no hesitation in recommending this company and would definitely use them for future work.

The day was very long and the two-man crew finished at suppertime after arriving around 8 am on time. They prepped and sprayed and cleaned up. The hose had to go in a second floor window and then up to the third floor for the attic, then down to the basement later. They tried to minimize dirt with lots of floor and stair coverings. You have to accept a certain amount of dirt when you do this, I was very satisfied with their clean-up. A few days later when I was replacing items behind the knee walls I found a hole that had been missed in the attic -- I could see it and feel the cold air -- and they came back promptly to fill it with hand held spray cans. I was not unhappy at finding the hole -- it was hard to get all the spots around the ducts and could see why a small one got missed. I paid the bill in full and a few days later had an energy audit done with a blower door test and a thermal camera that pinpoints air leaks in your house. I recommend this highly. It was not intended to find any leaks where the foam was sprayed, but for other areas, however I did find cold air coming in there, so I contacted the company again. The owner himself came by and we went over the job. It resulted in another visit by the crew, the hose to the attic for a much shorter visit this time, and more foam being sprayed at no additional expense to me. They had not done a poor job the first time, I am satisfied about that. But attics are complicated, and I had not understood how air flows, even in a new house (8 years old), so I wanted the foam to be in places they don't ordinarily spray. They complied, and I was happy. The whole idea was to stop my terrible ice dams. We certainly have the snow to see if it works now. So far so good. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Blow in open cell foam in finished attic behind knee walls around AC ducts and in basement on top of foundation walls in an 8 year old home built over a 1950's ranch house foundation, about 4000 sq ft. The job involved removing fiberglass insulation from portions of sloping attic ceiling, blocking off soffitt vents, and a lot of praying.

They were very prompt in responding to the need for a quote and for being accommodating with the dates available for the installation. They came on the promised date, worked diligently and were very clean during the whole installation. In the basement (mechanical) room, the foam was sprayed directly on the stone walls, as agreed. However, our general contractor pointed out to them that such exposed foam needs to be painted with a fire-retardant paint according to code requirement, and thus, the installation team had to come back the next day for this extra step. We were just made aware of the extra cost when we got the final invoice, although their contract term specified that 'any alterations ... must be agreed upon between the parties and the price fixed by them before work on such alteration'. The two parties were us (not our general contractor) and them, so right there, there was a possible issue. Plus the fact that they should have proposed to us upfront that a fire-retardant paint could be necessary (we are not in the insulation or construction business); we would have certainly agreed to it and they would not have to make the extra trip to come back for doing it, thus a reduced cost. Needless to say, March and Martin were extremely professional and accommodating about the issue and we reach a mutually agreeable compromise by a simple email. If only all contractors could be so professional! We would certainly want to use them again for this and for the quality of their work overall.

We inquired about their reputation through Angie's List and Angie's List has never heard of them yet they have been in business for 40 years and they are quite big here. They are very well established. We had a super experience with them. They came highly recommended by the local fire department and they were very good. They were very knowledgeable and their product was fireproof. They had very good references and they were very polite. They showed up on time and did the job quickly. They were very clean and their price was a good value but the price is never right for me. The quality of their service was also excellent.

While refinishing our basement we wanted to go with spray foam for walls and band joist. These guys are pros and we couldn't have been happier! Rapid estimate, great price and easy scheduling. Compared several companies and their price was extremely competitive. The installers had been doing this a very long time and worked quickly. The result was great and we would use them again in a heartbeat. Thanks!!

Ray March came to my home to do the estimate. He was really great. He explained everything, answered all my questions, and left me with sales and technical information about the insulation products. I told Ray about the lowest bid I had received so far. I had a really good feeling about Ray when he left, and was looking forward to getting their quote. Arriving in my e-mail around when Ray said the quote would arrive, I was pleasantly surprised that he had come in a few hundred dollars below the lowest quote. Needless to say, they were my choice. I spoke with Andrea several times via e-mail to coordinate when the work would start. As the time approached I was concerned I wouldn't get all the necessary permits for electrical, plumbing, framing before the insulation could be installed. Andrea was great about working with me almost until the last day before the scheduled start of their work, and thankfully all the inspections were completed. However even if there was a delay, I'm confident that they would have handled it no problem. Neil, who I was told was their best sprayer, arrived with a crew three (including Neil) on the scheduled day for the start of work. They were kind enough to call me from traffic on route 95 to tell me they'd be a little delayed. They were great, told me everything they'd be doing, masked off windows and other areas to prevent overspray, cleaned up at the end of each day and carted away the excess foam. Now the basement is tight and warm. I highly recommend March and Martin.

We contacted March and Martin for a quote when we decided to start finishing our walk up attic. The service is fairly expensive, but Mand M told us about the rebates available (energy efficiency from National Grid). The rebate was so good that it covered 75% of the cost. Mand M arrived on time both for the estimate and the job. The estimate arrived with a couple of days of the walk-through. The work was done quickly, they cleaned up after and provided the paperwork for the rebate. We have been told by several people that foam insulation applied incorrectly or not cleaned up properly is a huge mess -- we are very satisfied with the work and would definitely use them in the future.

I did not choose March and Martin because of the price difference due to asking for their bio-based product. They also do Icynene. I had already gotten an estimate for Icynene from a company that had worked for a neighbor on Cape Cod. Since Peabody is further north, I decide their Icynene foaming would probably be more money, too, because of the distance, and went with the competition.
Description of Work: I was interested in bio-based insulation because I run a green B&B. March & Martin were very quick with their response by email. I requested an estimate for the one large room we had renovated. I was sad that the estimate was twice as expensive as Icynene. The bio-based product is less than 50% bio-based. I decided to go with a product that has been on the market for a longer time, ie. Icynene. I was impressed by March & Martin's professionalism, all the same. ($3600)
