+ 0 moreGreenEdge managed a fairly complicated renovation for us which involved removing walls, replacing beams, basement refinish, kitchen and bathroom renovations. The company's prices were very competitive and we appreciated an extra benefit from the fact that *******, one of the principals, was also a trained architect, was willing to do plans and was creative in his renovation suggestions. With this winter's weather, the project,including plumbing and insulation challenges, were significant. However, the Green Edge Team stuck with us until all the problems were isolated and managed. Courteous, thoughtful and attentive to detail, we are pleased to recommend GreenEdge for fairness, skill and excellent work.
Description of Work: Green Edge gutted the first and lower level of a two family house. It was waterproofed, insulated, new heating, air conditioning and plumbing,and new windows. We bumped out and claimed a back porch for the kitchen, put in a gas fireplace, and added a steel beam in the ceiling so we have an open first floor living area. It looks fantastic!

+ 1 moreWe contacted Sean Murphy when we learned the house we were in process on purchasing would need a complete roof replacement. We needed information quickly, as our Pand S date was 1 day away. Sean was detailed in his quote, providing a thorough explanation of the entire process, the materials needed, and how he'd perform the work. Because of the quick turnaround, Sean was able to view photos of the property to accurately estimate the roofing work. We then contacted Sean once more regarding a specific area of the property that had termite damage. Again, he was thorough in his assessment and explanations, providing expert advice that gave us the information we needed at a very critical time in the property purchase. I will be contacting Green Edge Builders regarding more work in this home once we've taken ownership of the property.

They have great communication skills. It's been such a great experience. These guys are really professional and have great ideas.

+ 11 moreOn the first job, a second major problem was moving the oil line from the floor into the ceiling. Initially it was not feeding, or the pump was too small to draw the oil up and over to the furnace. After three separate attempts the final pump worked correctly. On the second job, the bathroom's old plumbing and the floor joists were not done according to code, so there was quite a bit of repair work to do. They took the room down to the studs, sistered new floor joists to the old ones, re-plumbed the sink, toilet and shower. D and S also installed a washer/dryer in the large bathroom, and put in new shelving. The electrical upgrade to 200 amp service was way overdue since the building has 5 units which had previously only been served by 100 amps. Their work on both jobs went well considering the problems which they encountered. Great job on both!!! I love the new recreation/home office in the 1st place and the tenant was really impressed with the quality of the studio which they renovated.
Description of Work: D & S did 2 separate renovation projects. The first one was renovating an old 1950's basement, tearing out a dividing wall and creating two spaces. Part of it is a recreation room, the other part is a home office. They had to wall off and enclose the part of the basement which has the furnace and the part which holds the oil tank, old cement washing sink and the washing machine. The contracted for electrical, plumbing, deck work, painting, and wall board/plastering. Each part of the work went smoothly with the exception of the French doors leading out of the walk out basement and moving the oil tank feed line up into the ceiling and installing a pump to draw the oil out of the tank & feed it to the furnace. The French doors required a bit more work because the ceiling is low, so they had to do some custom work to get the frame and screen doors properly fitted. The second job renovating a studio apartment's bathroom, kitchen and living room and electrical service went well. They tore out the old living room carpet, had a new one installed, blueboarded/plastered/painted ceilings throughout, and did a gut renovation a bathroom neglected for way too many years.
