Collegiate Window Systems

Phil and Doug were wonderful to work with- very responsive, professional, and answered all of my questions. We replaced a regular window in our home with a 7 foot bay window, which is beautiful and we absolutely love it. My one complaint was that a hole in the wall underneath the window was left following the installation, as well as some cracks, which were patched with a foamy substance but not a proper smooth plaster repair job that could be painted. We had to take care of that repair ourselves. Otherwise, my experience was very positive.

Last fall my husband was bringing a couch into our condominium and he mistakenly dropped it into one of our windows. I was furious with him because I had heard stories about how difficult it was to replace those windows. I called Phil Coleman for help because we had bought windows from Collegiate at our previous location. Those windows were so beautiful ; I hoped Phil would find the same quality product as he had sold us before. As always, he met with us right away. The quote was a bit higher than i anticipated but it turned out that Phil had very smartly upgraded us to triple pained windows which are so much better than those we had , had here before. I used to hear the traffic going by which is something I am not accustomed to. With the new triple pained windows, i barely here the cars go by. We did have to wait a little bit to get the windows installed BUT. it was well worth it. They are absolutely worth it.

How do you give an A+ ?? Firstly, Phil is a real gentleman who truly cares about people and will go out of his way to deliver the best package for his customers. His knowledge is extensive and you know your in very good hands! The scheduled day of the project was a wonderful experience of real professionals at work! The team worked together flawlessly under their awesome boss, and the work progressed incredibly quickly. The installation was completed in much less time than I personally anticipated. The finished product is perfect! The men took pride in their work, and performed each stage of the job quickly, conscientiously and with appropriate attention to detail. The men were respectful, honest, polite, and very considerate at all stages of the job. They worked with a wonderful harmonious energy and there was a delightful exchange of humor, which lightened the day! I am very pleased with the quality of the work. It was beautifully finished and all cleaned up when finished. I was actually sorry to see the crew go, at the end of the day! Would recommend to one and all!!

The installers were professional, polite, and industrious. I was amazed at how quickly the windows and doors were installed, and I loved the color options for the internal window frames. They match our woodwork beautifully. The 90 year old windows they replaced had some interesting pulley hardware that I remarked upon. When the installation was complete, one of the installers brought me a number of the pulleys and asked if I wanted to keep some. It's cool to have some of the history of the windows from this old house.

Every person I interacted with at Collegiate Windows was very responsive and professional. Phil Coleman was a pleasure to work with and his prices were fair. The installers were professional, respectful, on time and cleaned up the work area. We had an a problem with the screen size and Collegiate windows was quick to re order the replacements and come back during a time that was convenient for our work schedule. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again.

Collegiate was the best of the three companies i interviewed for the job. The sales guy was real professional, as was the measurement guy and finally the installers. A very good company that I will hire again. In fact, I am making plans to have them replace my entire home windows (22 windows!). Real nice company.

From my initial meeting with Phil Coleman,owner, to the installation, everything was very professional. The windows that were installed today (10/31/18) are very high quality (triple pane) and sealing the window system in place was done with great expertise. The new windows open easily and there is a screen on the outside for ventilation. The original windows were in a steel frame embedded in the concrete foundation and the windows were no longer able to close for a tight seal plus some of the window panes were cracked. Our basement will be much warmer now. I had trouble finding a company that would do this small job but Phil said no job is too small for them. I would highly recommend this company-they do big jobs and small jobs. Phil presented copies of several reference letters that were very impressive.

Phil is great at what he does. We wanted to replace our master bedroom windows with a larger window to be able to look at the woods. His team came in and all new windows including cutting the wall were replaced in one day, without any dust or evidence they were even there except for our amazing new windows! Would highly recommend collegiate windows!

Replaced three window group with a new picture window and two side casement windows. They had to cancel the first scheduled day due to bad weather. Follow up day we had a hard stop and they came did all of the work and finished early. Great job, easy to work with and great attitude.

One of the best investments we made in our home. From the outset, the process was explained with great detail. Overall professionalism displayed from sales to installation was very high quality. Any questions asked were answered. Any phone calls made were returned in a crisp manner. We decided to update the front windows first to see how it would go. We are so pleased we went back and had them do the rest. Can't say enough about how pleased we were with the results.

Phil Coleman of Collegiate Window Systems is an honest and trustworthy professional. He offered us a quality product at a really good price, and was there to offer support through every step of the process: measuring, manufacture & installation. I have to admit I have not been an easy customer- have personal issues that make it hard for me to trust. I can honestly say I've been a pain, yet Phil responded to all "issues" quickly and professionally- HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We had a positive experience with Collegiate Windows. Phil, the owner, is an old-school sales and businessman. Very straightforward, handshake and great with follow-up. His prices hold for 2.5 years which was helpful because we needed to do the windows in stages, including a trial set to see if we liked them. They are made by National Vinyl in Chicopee - a local company - which was a plus. We saved money thanks to a gentleman at National Vinyl noting that our custom color white was essentially the same as the standard so we didn't need to pay extra for custom. The install went smoothly for the entire job. The only challenge is that since it involves removing ugly storm windows etc... we now have to engage a contractor to fix trim, which we anticipated because that is not part of Collegiate's contract. It is a dusty messy job, window replacement, but they were fairly tidy, friendly and cooperative. We have found some bits of wood and hardware, but nothing extraordinary. Would recommend to others when exploring replacement windows. Our house is now snug, quiet and warm and in the spring we will be delighted that all our screened windows actually work! I was very impressed with the young men. They were very polite and respectful and introduced themselves. Before work got started I told them that I have an elderly parent and if they could do her room and the bathroom first because she needed to lay down constantly, I forgot his name but he said" No problem at all" they had 14 windows installed so fast and worked around my mother, so smooth and effortless I was so relieved. My mother is so happy with the triple pane windows. Thank you Phil and Collegiate family !

The price and the quality of the windows were reasonable. However one of the windows was damaged during installation and all 5 screens did not fit. In addition, the team did not clean outside after the completion of the work. We have notified Doug regarding the problem, however did not hear back for a month. We are really disappointed with the communication.

I called collegiate windows and Phil picked up. We quickly discussed what I was looking for and set up an appointment for later that week for him to come by the house. While in my home, Phil was took a very no-nonsense approach to giving me a quote. He took a quick look at the windows and spent a few minutes telling me about his past work, then gave me a written quote which would be good for 2 years. He didn't waste my time trying to sell me anything. Once I had signed the contract, Doug came by to measure and was done in about 15 minutes. On the day of the installation, a team of 3 showed up (on time) and quickly got to work. They were very professional and fast -- all 13 windows were finished in about 4 hours, including a brief lunch break for them. It was very cold out that day and they were sure to only do one window at a time to keep as much heat in as possible. When finished, the old windows were hauled away, they vacuumed up all of the mess, and gave me a quick 5 minute overview on how to use the windows (popping out screens and window panes for cleaning, etc...).

A crew of three men arrived in the morning and all windows were installed by 4 PM. They worked quickly and took away all the old windows, screens, and construction debris. They were friendly and efficient. Although I expected to have to move items stored in both the attic and basement to allow them room to work, I was surprised that they were able to install the windows without my doing so. The attic and basement windows look very nice but the porch windows are truly spectacular. The porch looks more modern and knowing I will never have to carry 10 5' x 20" panes of glass up and down the basement stairs again is a fantastic relief. I'm terrifically pleased with the outcome. I worked with Mr. Philip Coleman out of Worcester, MA and I believe there is a Canton, MA office as well as the Paxton, MA office listed above.

I was asked to give a favorable review for a better price and was given a deadline for the price that was quoted. This method made me lose faith in Angie's List reviews. I was also told that the 5% discount was not available because I did not mention it earlier and if I had, the price would have been higher to reflect the discount.

So far, so good. Company is professional and responsive. No frills, presentation, very respective of our family time and home. Phil is great to work with and presents a very good company and product so far.

Our first meeting with Phil went very well. He showed up a bit early and explained the history of his business and his extensive experience, relayed letters of recommendation and went through his recommendations of products with their various energy saving and noise canceling benefits. Phil was very up front that he would not quote exact percentages of cost savings in heating/cooling bills but did have letters from past clients explaining what they noticed in savings. Phil thoroughly answered all of our questions and then wrote up a quote and gave us time to discuss things. We decided to go with Collegiate and signed the contract the next day and he returned to measure the windows. The quote from the previous day remained, the price was lower than we had expected, which was very nice. Phil told us that Collegiate would be in touch to set up an installation date, which would be about 3 weeks from our initial meeting. His crew came to the house as scheduled and were in and out. They were very efficient, clean and other than the fantastic new windows you wouldn't have known they had been to the house. We read many reviews on AL prior to meeting with Phil and all of the great reviews are justified and well earned. Collegiate has been one of the best companies we have dealt with in Worcester.

The manufacturer keeps sending the wrong storm door. If they do it again Doug will buy it and not use supplier.

This company is WONDERFUL. Neil and Phil set up the day and time for the service. The truck pulled up at exactly the appointed time and the 2 men they sent were wonderful! My husband and I are both retired and on a fixed income and we had looked at several places to do this work. Some wouldn't even consider the job because it was too small and the ones that would were ridiculously expensive. Collegiate took the time to explain our options and found a way to make it work within our budget. We had trouble with one of the windows they were replacing, but the crew quickly found a solution, confirmed we were ok with what they were planning, and executed it without a hitch. The crew was kind and professional throughout the experience and even vacuumed the rug and swept the back deck when they were done. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone. I'm so glad companies, and workers, like this still exist.

We had our windows replaced by Collegiate Windows. We are highly impressed with Mr. Phil Coleman's professionalism, honesty and customer service. Highly recommend his firm.
