I can’t say enough about Mike and his construction company. We recently hired him to finish our basement, and I couldn’t recommend him more! Our basement was done on-time, on-budget, and with such attention to detail and high quality work. I’m beyond impressed, and so thrilled with the end result. Mike was extremely communicative at all stages of the process, he had great recommendations throughout the process, and was so easy to work with. I highly recommend Mike!

Mike and his dad were professional, punctual, even done early, completing a quality job. Their estimate came in slightly under unlicensed handymen, because they know what to do, get down to business, and do the work efficiently. The job was tricky, because of an existing roof over the porch, and it was an old house, but they did a great job handling every obstacle, and I wished I’d found them sooner once the work was done. I was looking for a simple solution before selling the house, but without passing on problems to the new owner- they struck that balance perfectly. A pleasure to work with to boot.

I can't say enough positive things about Gary and Mike and their team. We were looking at finishing our basement with a very limited budget and really no idea how much things would cost. We literally contacted 10-15 places off of Angies List for quotes. Burroughs came in and assured us they could do it within our budget (some of the other places were 2-3 times the price for the same work). There were a few lower quotes but Burroughs went over all the details and gave us a much better comfort level with everything. We did not set a time frame for when things needed to get done, but our preference was before Christmas (3-4 weeks) which was quite aggressive to finish our entire basement. They worked very quickly, weekends and nights, and even with some last minute changes by us they finished up Christmas eve for us! The basement came out even better than we expected. They assured us throughout the process that things would cost one more dime than everything they outlined in the contract and sure enough it didn't cost a single dime more. I was extremely impressed with the level of work, their responsiveness, work ethic, and professionalism, and they genuinely cared about making sure the finished product was everything we asked for and more. I'm not crazy about having people in and out of my house with my wife and two young kids but Burroughs gave us a sense of comfort the entire time, you can't put a price on how important that is. The best part of the the overall working experience for us with Burroughs is we have now found the guys we will be using for every single one of our home improvement projects going forward. I have zero need to ever use anyone else for anything, and I'm already lining up projects for them going forward. I honestly can't say enough about these guys and I absolutely would recommend them to everyone I know.

.'According to the proposal Burroughs Construction was supposed to: 1) Living room - demo ceiling, re insulate, blueboard and plaster ceiling. Area behind the heater - cut wall, re insulate, blueboard and plaster.Also replace hardwood floor that is buckled approx area 2' x 10'. Than repaint walls and trim. They finished everything EXCEPT ?did NOT replace the hardwood floor?, only a very small piece under the heater Reason for not doing it -t is to hard to be done the wood is splintering. I have now in my garage all the 2 inch oak hard wood which can not be returned as one small piece was taken out of the pack.?In addition they did NOT paint the walls and trim as per contract. 2) Bedroom - fix damaged ceiling, repaint and install new ceiling fan. Done 3) Roof - fix damaged shingles in front water damage area ?They did NOT fix this .Were supposed to do this the next day and they did not show up again as they did it constantly not keeping their appointments And now water leaks into the the MUD room??and not only leaks but goes across the whole new ceiling replaced after the water damage repairs done by Burroughs Construction. 4) Mud Room(back porch) - Remove Board ceiling, re insulate and blue board and plaster, new light installed, repaint walls and trim. ?From this they did NOT install a new light . Did NOT repaint the walls and trim and the worst thing as they did not fix the damaged shingles it is leaking in the room and damaged the new insulation and board ceiling.? In addition they ?did not keep their appointments. I was waiting hours and days for them to come at the promised time. No phone call to say their are not ?coming nothing.

High quality and fast. They have come to my home many times for various jobs and they always have a great price and do the job right.

Hired Burroughs Construction to renovate our ONLY bathroom. They were prompt in their demolition of room, cleaned up appropriately. Often arrived late, however they were good about communicating with us. We were on "vacation" during the time of renovation, otherwise, it would have been quite an inconvenience. Due to a scheduling conflict with the plasterer they subcontract with, there was a delay in completing the walls and ceiling. As a result, we were without a toilet for 3 days. Thankfully, we have family members living nearby who were able to accommodate us, otherwise this "renovation" would have included the cost of a hotel room!!! The plaster team they subcontracted did very poor work. We called Burroughs Construction to fix situation when painter flatly refused to touch walls and ceiling due to "shoddy workmanship." To their credit, Burroughs did return and attempt to fix things. Painter still had over 2 hours of prep work that should have been completed by plaster team. In Burroughs defense, their plasterer said he had van issues one day which delayed him, another day his phone was out of range, so when Burroughs attempted to contact him when over 3 hours late to job, he didn't get message. Unfortunately, the subcontractors can make or break a company. According to Burroughs, this is the first time they've ever had issue with this plaster team. I certainly hope it is the last.

Requested estimate via email and booked for a Monday at 4PM (re-arranged scheduled to be home), no show for appointment and gave benefit of the doubt to re-booked for that Friday. Friday came and went with a no-show to provide an estimate and 4 days later still have not heard from contractor as to why they did not show (after emailing them to check). Would have loved to use them based on feedback but if I can't get an estimate appointment taken care of, I'm not too confident about getting work done.

It didn't go...never showed and wasted so much of my time. Poor business practice and certainly not an "A".

Mike Burroughs and his father were excellent with communication, punctuality, and did an extremely professional job. The work was done perfectly, on-time, and in the budget as quoted. They also cleaned up the site and left it in better condition that what it was in when they started the job. In short, I would, will, and do recommend them for any remodeling or general carpentry/construction project you might have. If I need their services in the future, I will not hesitate to call on them. Great job!

!Any thing I asked them to do, they did cheerfully and quickly. I couldn't have asked for a better pair of contractors. I did get another quote from another person on Angie's list and it was quite more expensive and included work that wasn't necessary. The Burroughs guys were just wonderful. I would use them again in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, my concrete (!) ceiling is coming down in the living room and they are the only ones who had a solution for us. Our ceiling has pipes in it which conducts radiant heat. They haven't started that job yet but I know it will be done right. They were prompt and came when they said they would., were courteous and friendly and just awesome.. Well, it is done now and we can't believe how awesome it looks. If any one wants to see a sample of the meticulous work they do, call them and they will direct you to us and we will show off our new basement!

All went according to plan and to budget. Burrough's did an amazing job, our new sliders are terrific and our new deck is fantastic. Whenever we have people over we always get complimented on how nice our deck is. One part of working with Burrough's that I found best is that they do the work. Other deck companies I spoke with simply give you a quote and then find the lowest 3rd party bidder to do the work. Not with Burrough's. They quoted the job and they did the job. And they did a great job.

Father and son team (Gary & Mike) that do everything possible to make your project right! Very knowledgible and made recommendations throughout the project. Open to feedback and customer changes. I would not hessitate on using them again for projects around the house.

The work was of very poor quality. When they did the marble floor they didn’t level the cement before they put the marble done. Therefore, areas of the marble protruded. Gary Burrough said to put a rug over it and it will be fine. Tiles are chipped. He didn’t put enough glue on the tiles around the fireplace, so when someone stepped on the edge it would crack. The plastering is so poor that there is a distinct difference between the original and new. The work broke my heart because the original plastering had been impeccable. I don’t have the money to get this fixed. His response to me was: we’ll come back and fix this. When I called him a year later to tell him I was ready to go through with everything, he wouldn’t return the phone call. He didn’t want to fix prior problems. So anyone who said they do work is misrepresenting his work. He already wasted his time and made a mess and if he comes back he wouldn’t get more money; therefore, he won’t come back and fix it.

I really wish I had something to review here. I contacted Burroughs for an estimate on three separate deck projects. They came around and spent good time looking at everything and noting all the thoughts and requests we had. He even gave us good suggestions for things that might make the projects work better. The problem? I haven't heard anything since. After nearly 4 weeks of waiting, I contacted them to see where they were with getting me an estimate and ideas for moving ahead. I was told I'd get those numbers later that week. It's been another month and I'm still waiting. Based on all the other reviews, I thought they'd be a good option to check out. I think they probably do good work, and they seem to know their stuff, but I have no way of knowing. All I know is that they never get back to me with information I need to move ahead, so I guess I'll be looking elsewhere for someone to complete these projects.

It took a couple of tries for this father and son team to make it to our house for a small porch rebuild (we had the wrong date on one and he had sore shoulder on the other) but I wasn't in a huge hurry so it was no big deal. Their quote was more than a thousand less than the only other contractor to offer an estimate. They did it in only three hours too. The other guys wanted to rebuild the entire metal hand rail leading up to the porch not just what was on the porch and they also said it would take two days. At $1850 they probably would have done a better job than Burroughs but I didn't need the Taj Mahal of porches. Mike and Gary did a solid, well constructed porch. I will use them again.

Burroughs Construction did a great job and were done in a day. They put in the perfect wood and everything fits well and looks great. I also thought their prices were reasonable.

Gerry came out for the walk thru. He was very professional and clearly appears to know his business. Unfortunately, Gerry never provided a quote so I had to go with another company.

I liked him a whole lot. But there was another guy whom I also liked very much and he came with references, he knew doing, his prices were in the ballpark everything was very nice except that that the other guy was just a mile down the road from me rather than 30 miles one way so I did not use him but I like him a lot. I was torn between the two. I like him and I really liked the other guy. The other guy did not come through as quickly as I think as the Burroughs came through. His quote was around $ 2300. He was professional, very friendly and knowledgeable. He had cards available which is a good thing when somebody comes visiting you. You could always stick it on the refrigerator. He took the measurements and it was not like somebody going around not doing anything. But he was kind of calculating and things like that. He did have a lot of stuff on his web site, so that I could see the kind of work he has done. I think I can’t remember the references. It was like somebody who wanted the job. Obviously I did not give him the job. As for responsiveness he did make a couple of follow up phone calls. He showed up on time. He and his son were dressed appropriately and I would highly recommend him to people.

Went well. Would have been happier if had started and done only our project. As it was extended a couple of days longer because they had to go do other work. This was minor inconvenience.

Mike and his dad did a fantastic job of finishing my 600 sf basement last month. They showed up on time on promised dates. They are skilled and they worked fast. Mike communicated effectively by email/phone. He evaluated all my suggestions. Worked very patiently with the overzealous town inspector. Very courteous and professional onsite. Cleaned up well at the end of each day. Came back to touch up even after being paid in full. Minor issues: Plastering subs dumped waste in backyard and I think baseboard trims should have been done after flooring. Bottomline: Honest, skilled, reliable and professional. Will hire again or recommend to friends? Absolutely.

Overall, the work that Burroughs Construction did went above and beyond with what we expected. First off, his price was excellent. We had three different prices and his price was the lowest one. After they came to the house for the estimate, he was very timely as to when he contacted me about how much it would cost. He was extremely professional, and came right when he told me he would for the job. He did an amazing job on my front porch, and he respected my property and cleaned everything up right away. It was an excellent contractor experience, and I would call Burroughs Construction again. I would refer him and my friends and family, as he did such an excellent job.
