+ -1 moreThey charge $120 an hour. The service guy Billy was terrific. He has lots of years of service and he was right on the money with everything. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He cracked some great jokes and was very personable. He had a younger apprentice with him and they were good. They are very well known in this area and our neighbor recommended them to us. Price wise we have not compared them to others nor do we know the going rate in this area. Their office staff named Christian was terrific. Billy told me that she runs the show there.
Description of Work: We used Riedell & Son to repair our furnace.

Description of Work: Technician arrived on time to service three A/C units. Spent about an hour and half. Flushed drains, checked operations and pressures and added freon as needed. One of my systems has a leak and he inserted a dye in the system so that we will be able to locate the leak.

+ -1 moreWe noticed that the upstairs heating zone was not operating properly and called Riedell after checking the List. From the receptionist who answered the phone (Kristin) to the technician who came to the house (Mr. Loomis), everyone we dealt with was professional, courteous, and prompt. Kristin attempted to schedule a service call immediately (Wednesday afternoon), but Thursday proved a better option. The technicians arrived when promised and diagnosed the problem within minutes. Because a part had to be ordered, installation could not take place until Friday, March 30. Mr. Loomis returned with the part and had it installed and the heating system working within half an hour. Altogether an outstanding service experience, and we felt that the price was more than reasonable for a service call, a replacement combustion motor (?), and installation. We will definitely call on Riedell in the future.

Carl suggested that work should be performed after cabinet and counter tops were installed and had me arrange another appointment. Only charged me for 15 minute service call for the mis-step. Carl arrived on time, completed in the estimated time for the estimated cost.
Description of Work: Re-plumbing of kitchen sink (reconfigured double drain to single and installed new shutoffs, drain and faucet), dishwasher installation and gas range installation.

+ -1 moreCame when they said they would, did what they said they would, made the repairs in quick order in a professional manner. Service like it should be.
Description of Work: They did a large repair on our gas fired hot water heating system. Repaired water leaks, replaced circulator pump, pressure relief valves, corroded shutoff valves, expansion tanks and did maintenance that should have been done years ago. I am sure what was done was needed as there had been no maintenance for years, relief valves were leaking into drip bowls, circulator pump was not working properly and the expansion tanks were original. They did an excellent job and I am sure our heating bill will benefit from the work. The gas fired domestic hot water system was also worked on and we now have consistent temperatures in he showers and the pressure relief valve outlet doesn't leave a puddle on the basement floor. The heating system heats up the house faster and the rooms are now consistent temperatures.

+ -1 moreI really liked the guy that came out. I can't remember his name, but he was great. He came out and unclogged my toilets and some drains that were clogged. I really like the company, they are the best in the area and I will continue to use them. The price is a little high but they are well worth it.

+ -1 moreI had a good rapport with them. I felt confident with them. Overall, I think they did a really good job. They identified leaks, upset that they couldn't figure that out with the other one. Overall, they were really good.
Description of Work: They came in for ongoing leaks that 2 plumbers hadn't in the last 10 years been able to discover the source of. They seemed to quickly identify something to the toilet, because there were 2 leaks and one was newer. They came here for eval and decided it might be the shower secondarily and the toilet primarily in the small bathroom. Then they came and we ordered the new toilet and there was a size problem. What we did is we switched the toilet from the large bathroom with the new elongated one and the small bathroom with the old toilet, which was a smart idea. They found out there was a leak in my toilet, now I'm not a plumber so I don't know why they didn't figure this out beforehand but they didn't. So when they did that, they found out both toilets had cracks in them. The first, small toilet had never been line up so the hole in the toilet base was not matched up so there was a gap that was letting water just go out.

Description of Work: The heating technician cleaned the fan, furnace, replaced filters and checked on the humidifier. The blower motor needed to be replace and the humidifier motor need replacement. The technician ordered the parts and when they arrived he returned to replace the parts.

+ -1 moreGuy Riedell, one of the owners of the company, came to my house within two hours of calling for an estimate to have a toilet replaced. I had an idea of the brand and type of toilet I wanted and Guy Riedell suggested a specific model which was the same brand as I had chosen. He gave me a very reasonable estimate on the spot. The estimate included pulling and disposal of the existing toilet, delivery and installation of the new toilet, and a one year warranty by Riedell Plumbing and Heating. On the scheduled day, the plumber arrived on time and completed the job within one hour. He was very professional and neat. I was very glad I used this company to perform this service.
Description of Work: I had an existing toilet taken out and replaced with a new toilet.

+ -1 moreWe would definitely use this company again. The technician came exactly when he said he would, was extremely courteous and knowledgeable, and the estimate was right on target. He checked our furnace totally and completely, explaining to my husband everything he did as he went along. On top of that, he gave us some good tips that did not need to be part of his visit, but we felt he went above and beyond. We would definitely not hesitate to call him again or to recommend him to anyone.

Description of Work: They gave me a free quote and compared to the other companies the all came close to the same $3800 figure. The reason I went with them is that the quality of the furnace was by far the best. We had the new gas heating furnace installed and the old removed. Also had the a new thermostat installed.

+ -1 moreThe plumber came right when I was told he would which, given the service call of a few days ago was FANTASTIC. He methodically worked his way through the jumble of problems our home had accumulated. He fixed what was fixable, referred what needed to be seen by someone else and advised us that a major job should be, properly, another day. He was polite, proficient and hardworking. This plumbing company is the best we have ever done business with either in Massachusetts or New York. Such a relief to have a trustworthy, competent and reasonably priced plumber. If you have a plumbing problem on or near Cape Cod, this is the outfit to call.
Description of Work: Had several problems from toilet to kitchen sink to basement dehumidifier to outdoor shower ... what was fixable was done; what needed a referral (central air) was referred; what required a later evaluation (outdoor shower) was so identified.

+ 1 moreSince we were working around the installation of the counter and sink, they were very helpful in timing the work and being willing to come back two days later to finish the job. I want to show off the underneath of my sink because the work is so neat. I am very happy with the job. Not having to wash the dishes in the bathtub anymore isn't bad either.
Description of Work: When we put in a new granite countertop and new sink Riedell changed the new sink over to one drain from the previous two sink set up. They cleaned up the plumbing situation under the sink, installed separate cut offs for the sink, the dishwasher, and the ice maker. They also installed the new dishwasher and put in a new faucet and sprayer for the new sink. They also had to work around the granite people who were returning to install the back splash. One of the best things they did was to send us to a kitchen faucet supply place to pick out our faucet instead of letting us buy a faucet from a large chain. They explained that the faucets at the large chains do not have high quality insides and often don't last. If a faucet is purchased and installed by them then they stand by the product. Their work is meticulous. We are in the midst of working with them on a conversion of our house from oil to gas for all the HVAC and planning to work with them on another project because they are so great to work with.

Description of Work: Riedell installed a Mr. Slim Heat Pump. Estimator provided a written detailed contract and after deposit, scheduled installation within two weeks. Technicians arrived on time and installed/tested entire system in 6 hours. Excellent work at a fair price. Technicians were 1st class and cleaned up after themselves.
