Jim and his team are excellent. Their response to my questions were met with timely, clear answers and the work was done in a professional manner, for the cost promised, and done well. They protected the area to be worked on and left my house cleaner than when they arrived. The wiringin the basement was also done well, as it was secured neatly to the joist. I could not be more pleased and will be using Castle Electric for all of my future electrical needs.

We have found our go to electricians! These guys are professional, friendly, fair, and all around just great. We'll call them for the many future projects we have lined up as we update 'our old house'. My sister and brother-in-law had the Castle Electric crew do some work on their house in Norwood. After the rave reviews, my brother and I decided to give them a call for some much needed work in our multi-family house. They also had rave review on Angie'sList. Jim and I met for a walk through of the work we wanted done. He provided some great suggestions and answered any and all questions throughout the entire project. He provided written estimates that explained all the work. On the scheduled day, today, they showed up on time and worked all the way through until they finished up all the work they'd agreed to. I could write more but the greatest compliment I can give these guys is that they are our go-to electricians! Thank you Jim (the owner), Jim (the son), and Rich for a fantastic on budget job!!!

They were excellent in communication. Quick to respond to both emails and calls immediately. Came out within two days of initial contact to do estimate and wrote up estimate within a week. Followed through after the estimate without being pushy and did a great job on the work. We couldn't be more pleased with their professionalism. Nice to work with and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company and will use them in the future.

This experience began with my purchase of a coupon on Angies List for Castle Electrical services (I believe it was $95 for $200 worth of service). Big mistake. I should have known better than to commit $ to a vendor before scoping out the project, but I thought it was relatively straight forward and Angies List gave them a good grade so I thought I was safe. So I bought the coupon and contacted Castle. I got ahold of the owner and they were fine initially. He came out to the house and promptly provided an email estimate for the job which seemed reasonable. I responded that it was fine and asked when this work could be completed. After a month of no response, I wrote another email asking when he could begin the job, and received back the response that they would have to check on the parts and would get back to me. Another month, no answer. I emailed again, and asked if they were still interested in the project, and they responded that they were interested and would check with the supplier of the parts. Another month goes by. I email again. Will he please provide a firm date by which he will perform the work. He then explains that there has been run on these parts and that he will have to check to see if he can get them. Another month, I am p*****. I write to ask for my money back. He then calls me to reitterate that the parts are slow in coming, but should be here anytime, and can he please do the job. Still no parts - no, I want my money back (which in fairness, he did provide). I definitely would not recommend buying a coupon in advance, and I would not recommend Castle Electric.

He was supposed to come out on a Friday and never showed up. Then he came and was going to put it near my window and I told him I didn’t want it there. Then he told me that he that he would come back and never showed up. Then he forgot to come. He came on Saturday and was hurrying me. I never heard from him on Saturday. He has never me back and never showed up.

Showed up on time, provided reasonable estimate and performed work as agreed. We were generally quite happy with the result.

He came to the house when scheduled and did the work as promised.

I have had two other electricians replace my temperamental doorbells in the past. For whatever reason, they work in the beginning but then will stop working or only work on dry days (days with no rain). Since I run a nursery school out of my home, I really did need to have the doorbells in working/reliable order. So I went on Angie's list to find a local electrician with a good rating. That is why I chose Castle electric. Two men came out to replace the outdoor bells on all three doorway areas. They also told me a transformer(?) located in the circuit breaker box, was burnt out and needed to be replaced. They didn't have that part on hand, so they left for Home Depot, picked up the part, returned right after and finished the job. It's been a couple of weeks and the doorbells are all working fine. I will return to this report if they stop working soon after. But so far, so good.

Quick and easy job. One electrician and one apprentice came an hour early to my home. They installed 1 outlet (had to drill through a wall) in my home and 1 outlet in the garage for a door opener. They left zero mess in the house after cutting a hole in panelling. Worked quickly in the garage. No problems. Both were professional and got the job done. I did not shop around regarding price because I needed this work done. So, not sure if the price was fair or not.

Jim and his son were excellent. They showed up at the designated time, performed all work that was scheduled and additional requests. They were very neat and courteous. One of the best contractors I have ever worked with, highly recommend their services.

Jim and his associate were able to come and check out our problem on the day that I called. We had a circuit that had shorted out, causing outlets in three bedrooms to be inoperable. Castle Electric worked hard to isolate the problem, taking the trouble to get into our attic (which is very difficult to access). After figuring out that the problem was due to a flooded outdoor outlet and some incorrectly grounded junction boxes, some other employees came out to the house to perform the necessary repairs. Very punctual, efficient service.

Always a pleasant experience dealing with Jim and his crew. Punctual, knowledgeable, efficient and flexible when dealing with changes that arise. All at a fair price.

Bought the Angie's List coupon; as it turned out very little work could actually be done for various reasons, but at the price it was worthwhile getting the answers to several small electrical questions. Jim and his son were efficient workers, explained everything clearly, and were certainly willing to do whatever could be done in the time allotted, would definitely use them again.

Everything went very well. I am having them back soon for some additional work.

Big Deal Coupon deal. Jim came and I showed him some work I was interested in having him do. He pointed out an improperly wired subpanel. We discussed what was urgent/important enough to have him work on vs. what could wait. Settled on three separate projects. He provided a very clear estimate broken down by project. Not pleased with the price, I opted to have him do one of the three and use my Big Deal to investigate (rather than necessarily repair) another. Jim was generous with his time in that he or his assistants made a total of five trips, but this meant I needed to be available on five separate occasions. This is neither a compliment nor a complaint--merely something to be aware of. Two issues that arose during the course of the work were resolved to my full satisfaction. 1. The existing light fixture was not installed correctly (which neither Castle nor I knew about) and required modification to resolve. Since I wasn't home at the time, he met with me later to discuss the issue. We agreed on a resolution, and his assistants returned to complete the work at no additional charge. 2. I was dissatisfied with the color selection and placement of two switches within the 2-gang box, and his assistants gladly replaced the switches, also at no additional charge. The cost of Castle's services was my only issue. Note that I am new to Massachusetts and am a DIY type, so my frame of reference on price is not the same as yours may be.

Very good experience. Two electricians were courteous and professional. Workmanship and clean-up was excellent.

Jim was quick to return my initial call and it was appreciated that he could come right out the next day. The work was done well as the garage door opener works fine. He also gave me a quote to replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan at $351 (not including the fan) which was more than I expected for such a job, so likely won't have it done at this time.

Very pleasant and courteous staff on the phone; went and looked at the broken fixture immediately; got back in touch with a quote that was consistent to the end. The choice of light fixture was left to Castle and they chose perfectly. They arranged a time at our convenience for the installation. Job was done neatly without any disturbance to nearby gardens.
