We are very unhappy with the hurried and disrespectful service from Dennis Kitchens. They repeatedly showed us, through words and actions, that getting paid was their sole priority. Forgetting that the 'job site' is someone's home, the needs of the people who live there were inconsequential to them. 2021/22 had very high, record snow totals, and several winter storms kept 2-3ft of snow on the ground for weeks. Our long sloping driveway is treacherous, even with a hired plow and frequent shoveling. As the sole occupant of the house that winter had a disability, we asked multiple times to reschedule the renovation and postpone the cabinet delivery until we could better manage the snow with the resources we had. Dennis Kitchens disregarded our needs and belittled the disability, insisting on continuing the work and robbing us of the choice, in our own home. As a result, their own plumber flipped us off in text message. Dennis Kitchens, under their own volition, shoveled a path themselves under the pretense of helping us, only to charge us months later for such benevolence. Dennis Kitchens did not complete tasks in the proper order. Already made impatient by the snow, they were unwilling to wait for the floors to be finished, and were only concerned with getting their portion of the work done "to get paid," regardless of the outcome. After submitting our tile and countertop choices months prior, they told us our selection was never recorded, and now they are charging us for selecting it too late. Incidentally, we discovered our tile had arrived three weeks ago through the supplier, not from Dennis Kitchens. Apparently an installer injured his back, oops they'll send someone tomorrow... If money was an issue, they could have approached us for a solution, but instead they decided to cut-corners and make judgements on someone's disability, by taking away our ability to make decisions on our own home. Despite spending a fortune on renovations, we will live with their hastily cut corners indefinitely.

Plans were confirmed and deposit made. Cabinets did not arrive as planned and work was delayed. It took 2 days to remove old cabinets and put new ones in and then at the end of 3 weeks I was still waiting for the completion to be done. It certainly appeared I was being dropped into the schedule for work sporadically. My opinion is Dennis Kitchens has taken on more than they can handle and a little work here and a little work there only makes customers unhappy. As a result I ended out relationship after 1 month and have been successful finding others on Angie's List to complete the work.
Description of Work: I had a small (approx 15x12 ft "L"shaped) kitchen with small island designed and expected the work to be done.

Job was done in stages due to other jobs they were working on and I was left without a stove for months;also my bath was torn apart for months. Within 6 months, cabinets and trim/moldings began to discolor and high gloss finish began peeling away from drawers, doors, shelves. Repeated calls and stops to show did nothing..Finally with threat of legal action, a supplier representative and division sales manager visited my home on at least 4 separate occasions to resolve this. What they sent to correct the discolored panels and microwave unit didn't matchd, had bubbles on the side of the panels and was not cut properly the first or sedond time. Also, the stove melted one side of the drawer panel because there was no heat shield to break the hot oven temperatures from damaging the cabinets; the solution given to me was open the oven door and let the hot air out when finished with the oven. The cabinets , trim and door panels were again recut 2 or 3 times, shipped to me with defects and the incorrect color of white. Representatives told the installers to unwrap these pieces, leave them exposed to air and the color would correct itself within 3 weeks. Not so. With threat of a legal action, cabinets and necessary replacements were only sent out for replacement if I agreed to pay 1/2 of the suppliers cost or they would not fix anything. After legal discussion, I agreed to send a 1/2 down "good faith" deposit. The replacement cabinetry arrived at my home with no notice of delivery...at least 30-40 cartons were brought in and left for a week in the middle of my dining area. Truckers said they had given the kitchen cabinetry company a date and a TIME of delivery the previous Friday. No one informed me. Finally, day of re-install, we were missing at least 7 cabinets and doors, and over 30 ft. of trim and moldings. Another delay of approximately 30 days. The supplier also had refused to replace the framework of the original cabinetry so am sure the old finish will eventually discolor/peel on the inside of the cabinets. After all of this delay and aggravation, I was presented with another installation bill in the amount of $1,000.00 which I am refusing to pay and will handle legally if need be. |Have built 3 houses completely and remodeled 4 and have never worked with such a horrific and unorganized company. The total estimate above doesn't not include the hardware,re-wiring, appliances, painting, plumbing or counter work which consisted of soapstone. This project ran close to if not over $65,000 but double that figure in pure aggravation. I also had difficulty with the workmen that were brought into the project on their recommendation and had to redo plumbing and heating that was already done once, paid for and again, I had to pay another tradesmen. Clean up is another issue; I had to clean up after the install which took me until almost midnight on all days of installation and am now waiting for the painter to come and repaint areas | |Would never recommend them for anything and ongoing legal issues prohibit me from discussing further actions.
Description of Work: Contracted for a complete kitchen and bath remodel with them over three (3)years ago.
