+ -1 moreMike arrived early and worked steadily. He Is very pleasant, good-natured, and forthcoming. In advance he explained what he would do and while on the job answered our additional questions. He also dealt patiently and politely with a difficult neighbor. We are considering having him do another job for us next year reskimming the interior foundation.

+ 1 moreVery well. When they looked at our problem he said it could be fixed with a sump pump, plus having a French drain already installed was a plus as they could feed the output from the pump into it. We have not had a drop of water in the basement since CMS did the work!
Description of Work: We had water seeping into our finished basement for well over a year. A contractor installed a French drain which diminished the amount of water but did not stop it entirely. We called Concrete Masonry Solutions based on a recommendation.

+ 1 moreThere was no water but needed I needed cracks filled so a radon remediation system could be installed. Radon level was 7.7 before the cracks were filled. Its now 0.9. I'll be monitoring the radon level for a year to see if it goes back up but I believe that filling the cracks resolved the radon issue. Prior to starting the work he explained that the filler would not exactly match the concrete. This isn't a problem since the basement will be refinished and the floors covered. He took his time filling the cracks so there was no messy over flow and made sure that the filler was level. The filler did settle a little after a day but he left me with plenty of filler so I could level them out where needed. Grinding concrete makes a ton of dust. The way he setup, the dust was collected and he was and there was no mess. $700 may seem like a lot to fill cracks, but there were a lot of them and a few of them were very wide. Overall I couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: Needed cracks repaired in the basement slab. The cracks were grounded out and filled with sealant.

I was very pleased with them. The basement hasn't caused us any problems since they worked on it. They gave a lifetime warranty. I will use them again in the future.

He stands by his work and is eager to please the client. I have used Michael twice this year. He responds quickly to calls, arrives on time for a job, works hard, and is very personable. I am extremely pleased with the work he has done for me.
Description of Work: Approximate cost is the total for 2 jobs: April 23-24, 2010: installed a new sump pump in the garage; enlarged & replaced an old sump pump in the basement; sealed several foundation wall cracks in the basement and garage; and repaired outside foundation wall cracks. August 11-12, 2010: repaired and realigned concrete entry to garage.

+ -1 moreI called four companies for estimates and Mike was one of three that answered. He came by appointment, inspected the wall and other basement areas and the backyard and gutter system we had questions about. He described his expertise that could address the interior area that allowed the leak (the primary problem). He described what equipment he would use, gave an estimate of the time it would take him, and the estimated cost. He also clarified that he could take care of the internal crack but could not deal with the outside drainage. We did not get back to him for three weeks as we sought other estimates and then took a week's vacation. During our absence he left a voice message to "check in." We decided to have him fix the crack and to have other parties address the backyard drainage situation. He was pleasant at all times, efficient, gave clear explanations of his work, and cleaned up when he was done.
Description of Work: Mike drilled into a long crack in the basement foundation that was leaking sporadically for some years..... he cleaned out the old tar patching we had applied through the years, explored the extent of the crack and inserted an epoxy with a pressured device that he said would expand and seal the crack.........he was able to give us a lifetime warranty on his work on the crack.....

He filled all the holes and cracks inside and out, resurfaced my entire basement covering the slabs to provide a better seal, and applied waterproofing outside. He even installed new basement steps for me, caulked holes in my front side walk,repaired and painted a basement window. He even removed things from the basement that I no longer wanted and offered to sit them out for trash pick up. Michael was on time, if not early every day, which took about 7 days. He was meticulous and clean throughout the entire job. He was pleasant, and respectful of the household. He answered all my questions and was very concerned that I be happy with his work. My only complaint is that the job left a fine coat of dust throughout the basement which I'm still cleaning up, and I was not told that this would be there. Otherwise, he left the basement much cleaner than he found it.
Description of Work: The mortar between the granite foundation in the basement was filled. Inside the house, the granite foundation was completely covered. On the outside, the motar was retraced leaving the original granite showing. A waterproof seal was applied around the entire outside foundation.

+ -1 moreOverall, it was a great experience. I wish he was the first contractor I called instead of the third. He was very professional and persistent in solving the water leak. He was careful to not to make a mess and cleaned up afterwards. Two days after he did the job, we had a mid-April Northeaster with 3 days of torrential rain. Not a single drop of water came into the Condo. He is also very honest and only takes jobs he knows he can do well. I write this because he declined a job for another property I own, saying it was the beyond the scope of his expertise.
Description of Work: Water started leaking into my garden/basement level condo in March. Mike Diraimo, the owner of D&M, was the 3rd contractor to look at the unit and the ONLY one who diligently looked for the water source and was willing to stay until the leak was found and fixed. When I called D&M, Mike was very helpful and provided a clear and competitive pricing structure. He met me at the unit the next day, carefully inspected the area where water seemed to be entering and applied a waterproofing epoxy along the floor/wall joint. Most importantly, he stayed long enough to see it the application actually worked. When water continued to flow, he cut a small hole in the drywall and discovered a crack in the cement wall that turned out to be 4ft long. Having found the crack, he filled it in with epoxy and the water stopped. Mike also guaranteed his work for 10 years and was very good at explaining what he was doing and why. I highly recommend him and would gladly hire him again.
