Josh showed up a few minutes early, and did a very thorough job. He examined the basement, roof, and then the apartment very thoroughly. He always explained things as he went along. Always easy to ask questions to. Seemed slightly pricey for an hour and a half of work, but I felt he was very thorough and caught a lot of small and big things that needed to be addressed. Would definitely use him again.

Frank Deveau arrived 20 minutes early, and had already spent a good amount of time inspecting the exterior of the property when I arrived. As the other buyers and brokers showed up, he commenced his formal inspection. Frank was extremely thorough, and he offered extensive narration and commentary as he did his work. Having completed more than 17,000 home inspections, he was a treasure trove of useful information and advice. I can't recommend his services highly enough! He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and was always willing to share his experience and help educate our group of naive first-time home-buyers. I was also very pleased with Kathy's work in the company's office -- she helped us schedule and reschedule, and was very pleasant to work with. I IMPLORE anyone getting a home inspection to ATTEND the process and to take copious NOTES as it's happening! While the final report is complete, it doesn't contain any of the nuance or unofficial advice and explanation that your inspector will offer.

Inspector (Josh) showed up slightly early and got a start looking at the exterior when we arrived. He was very patient and thorough, testing the windows, faucets, every one of the many electric outlets etc. He noted two cracks in the foundation which neither we nor our realtor had noticed in our (we thought) thorough looking over. These cracks necessitated another visit from an engineer to determine if they were something to be concerned about. Fortunately Jackson had someone able to follow up at short notice. We felt much more confident placing a value on and bidding on our home knowing so much more about it.

Ray was highly recommended to us by friends. We've used him for three home inspections; a 150-year-old single-family home, a condo in a 120-year-old three-family home, and a condo in a 100-year-old apartment building (the $430 rate was for 1100 sq-ft). He is very personable, clear, and competent. He was very thorough, examining the inside, outside, grounds, crawl spaces, appliances and systems from top to bottom. He explained to us what he was doing as he went along and, in each case, discovered major issues that we wouldn't have been aware of (in two cases, it lead us to not go forward with the purchase). He also pointed out things that were well done or in good shape, and things that, though not to code, were not of as great concern. And he is very concerned about safety issues. Immediately after the inspection, he provides a complete report. We feel that Ray's inspections have been an excellent investment.

JBS Home Inspections got the job done extremely quickly and did a very thorough job. The report was obtained very quickly and it was well laid out. The inspector was a friendly person and polite and professional. The price was a little higher than I liked.

They were very negative about the house. They couldn't tell what we could live with and what we couldn't live with.

He was very nice! This was my first house and I didn't really know anything at all. He took the time to give me a lot of general maintenance advice and never made me feel dumb with all my questions. He even took me aside at the end and whispered that the house was really in very good shape, compared to most houses in the neighborhood.

We wanted to have our clapboard inspected for possible damage prior to having vinyl siding installed. We were disappointed to have to pay nearly the full home inspection cost when we really had only a specific need. However, we were very pleased with the service. Ray Jackson provided a thorough inspection of the outside of our house (clapboards, windows, roof) as well as a cursory inspection of our attic, basement, and furnace. He also supplied a radon test, which we'd been meaning to have done anyway. Ray was very professional and left us with some good advice about various areas of our home.

Mr. Amsler arrived early for the inspection. He was extremely courteous and professional. He performed the inspection meticulously, methodically going over every inch and important system and area of the house. As he did so, he gave me a constant running commentary and explanation of both the house's strong points and areas of concern. He ultimately identified a very serious problem in the house, one that forced me to withdraw my offer to purchase. Mr. Amsler provided me with a thorough report upon the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspector arrived at the appointed time and made some comments about the building exterior. I had specifically requested an inspector with experience doing inspections of large commercial buildings. The inspection was done by rote and it was explained to me several times that no effort would be made to determine source of any problems, merely that they existed. On one occasion the inspector prompted the superintendent to give a particular answer. This is a small (<950 sf)unit yet not all the windows were checked for operation, the flat portion of the roof was not checked, the inspector had no flashlight, and he generally appeared rushed. Although the building had a public water supply I had requested a water test; the wrong sample kit was used.

The home inspector was on time, very thorough and contacted us to discuss the inspection. We were able to receive a report immediately by fax and then by mail. The report was well organized and easy to understand. The staff was very helpful and always polite. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Office staff was friendly and professional. I was able to quickly schedule a weekend appointment. Glen arrived before we did. He gave us a good overview of potential problem areas and what would be involved in fixing them. He pointed out a plumbing and an electrical problem we would not have known about. Glen helped us prioritize the concerns he found.

RAY WAS VERY HELPFUL, BOTH ASSESSING THE PROBLEM HE WAS CALLED TO HANDLE, AS WELL AS LOOKING FOR OTHER HOUSE INSPECTION ISSUES TO COMMENT ON.

RAY WAS VERY THOROUGH AND DID AN OVERALL GOOD JOB. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE PERSON WHO SCHEDULES HIS APPOINTMENTS LIED AND TOLD ME THAT HE WAS ON VACATION FOR MOST OF THE WEEK IN WHICH I NEEDED THE INSPECTION. SINCE RAY WAS THE INSPECTOR WHO HAD BEEN RECOMMENDED TO ME, I WANTED HIM TO DO THE INSPECTION AND HE DID. RAY LATER TOLD ME THAT WAS NOT TRUE AND THAT IS WHAT THEY TELL PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO GET THEM TO USE OTHER JACKSON INSPECTORS. RAY WAS ALSO 20 MINUTES LATE.

THE INSPECTOR, GLEN GRUTTA, WAS SUPERB. HE WAS PROMPT, POLITE, AND SO THOROUGH THAT HE LOCATED FAULTY ELECTRICAL WIRING, A PORCH THAT WAS NOT ATTACHED PROPERLY, A WATER HEATER THAT WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, A BATHROOM THAT WAS NOT UP TO CODE, AND A MYRIAD OF OTHER PROBLEMS THAT WE WERE FORTUNATE TO FIND OUT ABOUT BEFORE GOING THROUGH WITH A PURCHASE. WE WOULDN'T ASK FOR ANYONE ELSE.

HE EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WATER HEATER, OIL HEATER ETC, WHEN TO CHANGE FILTERS, HOW TO MAINTAIN A GARBAGE DISPOSER. HE WAS EXCELLENT AND REALLY HELPFUL. WORTH EVERY LAST PENNY.

HE IS INCREDIBLY THOROUGH AND VERY DETAIL ORIENTED. HE WAS JUST GREAT. VERY HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
