+ -1 moreRichard who came out to give the quote was very nice. Paint crew were very nice and pleasant. Paint job was OK. Didn't sand well in places and paint looked blotchy in places. Didn't paint in harder to reach places (e.g. behind obstruction). Quite a bit of paint splatter that was not cleaned up unless I asked. Didn't attach gutters properly - neglected to put all the gutter straps back, again, till I pointed it out. Overall, OK and at times, sloppy workmanship. Would not recommend to others. Pricing was a bit expensive.

+ -1 moreI used Richard's company 7 years ago to prep and paint my entire house and they did a fabulous, meticulous job. It lasted all that time, which is all you need to know about quality. Now, the garage was finally peeling and I had some wood repair work done on my front door surrounding area, so I had his company back. Again, they were great! 5 guys first day, and 3 the second for a half day. In addition to the agreed work, they touched up areas that they found could benefit. Dave and his crew were thorough, neat and personable. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreThe paint job took three days longer than initially promised and that was without the sanding, priming and painting of the shutters (included in contract) but we decided to buy new ones. Of course the Company didn't discount anything despite doing less work. Interesting. They insisted on getting the remainder of the payment prior to final completion. The total job was $5900 and we paid $2500 up front. The install of the two doors to be fair was not included in the initial price but given that the shutters cost $250 per set to sand, prime and paint I figured it would be a wash. Nope. Instead Goddard charged $1000 to put in two doors. LOL. We settled on an additional $600 just to get rid of him. The best is that his foreman Phil said that the doors should be included. Phil is Richard Goddard's foreman and brother in law and they speak very negatively about each other. Goddards was supposed to remodel our bathroom but I fired them and will NEVER use or recommend them. If you are considering hiring them do so at your own peril. Lastly, my wife was very disappointed with the customer service and Goddard trashed her stating she was a helicopter client. The same wife who would daily buy water, muffins and donuts for the workers since Goddard did not even let them have water. He is a real gem. And he sends emails in all CAPS.
Description of Work: Paint exterior of the house, including shutters and trim. Replace front door and storm door.

Description of Work: Goddard Painting was professional and was the lowest price quoted. So we went with them. Unfortunately, the people that painted the house were not quality painters, in my opinion. We also had to have some minor work done to replace the attic vent on the side of the house. The person that was contracted by Goddard to replace the vent (and therefore some siding shingles) was also not very good at his craft. I had to show them that is didn't look right and they fixed it, but I don't think it was my job show them how to make it look better. All employees were pleasant enough (although they did not speak much English), they cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day,etc but I'm talking about quality. The house is painted, but should've done better. One area of the house was peeling away a year later. They painted my front screen door red, the color they painted the front door (therefore, both my front door and screen door were painted red). They repainted the screen door back to white once Goddard told them that it was the wood door that was suppose to be painted red. I was not pleased, but they fixed it. Bottom line: I guess I should've selected a team (know all the people working on your house, not just the salesperson) that had more experience and showed better craftsmanship. I would have had to pay more money, but I would've been happier with the process/end results. Goddard Painting is fine if you can overlook the details/process, don't care too much about quality of the work and you just want to get your house painted for a decent price.

He provided a detailed estimate in advance, going around house to identify all areas of wood rot that would need repair in advance. His crew did an excellent job, punctual, attention to detail and neat throughout. They did a great job with the small repairs, identifying needs that I hadn't noticed. They used a premium Sherwin Williams paint and also painted my pool house with no extra charge (not incl in original quote). My house is fairly good size, about 3500 sq ft, with 2 car attached garage. I felt quote was very reasonable. I had one lower and one higher. I would not hesitate to use Goddard's again in the future, but with the job they did, I expect paint job will last a while.
Description of Work: Goddard repaired several areas of wood rot on the house, prior to scrape/sanding, prime and finish coats.

+ -1 moreIt went terrifically. The company was up front about all the costs and even gave me advanced pricing should some things go wrong with he replacement of the gutters. The help was neat, clean and quiet. They were also able to suggest other work being done that may have been missed by me and the owner and we were able to settle on additional costs without issue. In the process of painting they noticed that my shutters were in need of repair and they actually went out and purchased shutters with the same pattern and hung them at no additional charge. | |The one thing that impressed me the most is that Mr. Goddard actually came to the house to do a walk around inspection with me to make sure all the work I anticipated to be done was completed. He would not take payment until I was satisfied. I don't think business owners especially in this line of work take ownership of their product. They just want to collect the money and leave. | |A truly professional experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I will use Goddard's Painting again.

They were very careful with our plantings. They cleaned up properly when they were done. The team was polite and courteous. We have hired him again for another job.

+ -1 moreOVERALL, THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THE FRONT DOOR HAD ABOUT A 1/2 INCH GAP ON THE TOP (WHICH THEY FIXED AFTER I COMPLAINED) AND THEY USED A HAMMER ON THE FRAME OF A VERY EXPENSIVE DOOR. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE TRIM ON THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE HOUSE. THE PAINT HAS FADED IN SEVERAL SPOTS AND BUBBLED IN OTHERS. LAST FALL, WE FOUND SEVERAL PIECES OF ROTTING TRIM THAT HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED AND I CALLED THEM ON THIS. THEY WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALLS. IN ADDITION, THEY TACKED ON A BIG CHARGE FOR THE FRONT DOOR WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL PRICE QUOTE.
Description of Work: GODDARD WAS CONTRACTED LAST AUGUST TO PAINT OUR HOUSE AND REPLACE ANY ROTTING TRIM BOARDS. THE SIDING IS CEDAR AND THE TRIM IS PINE. WE WERE REPLACING THE FRONT DOOR AT THE SAME TIME AND THEY OFFERED TO DO THAT WORK, ALSO.
