He was on time but had a really difficult time understanding what I wanted. This is my fourth house and home theater. I know what I want and have everything I need, except the ability to single-handedly mount a 150 pound tv to the wall. What I wanted what a corner set-up with the monitor/television mounted on the wall using an articulating arm so the tv could swivel and be above the components. Instead, he insisted that the tv be placed above the fireplace. I didn't want the tv above the fireplace. There's no faster way to ruin a $4,000 tv than to mount it above a working fireplace. Even if for some reason I wanted to do that, the tv was too big for the space. So then he began insisting that the audio wouldn't work for a corner set-up. I'd done corner set-ups and the audio can be pretty awesome with a good set of speakers and some basic geometry. He didn't seem familiar with my brand of speakers. He said they would *try* to set-up the audio field. (FYI: Setting up the audio requires the use of sound pressure level meter and using the set-up menu available in the receiver after the speakers are placed around the room and connected.) Next he decided that I need an all-in-one remote. I told I didn't want one - I've had them and I don't like them. The next day he e-mailed an estimate of $1,334.09 that included: mounting the tv & installing the "7.1 surround system": 0 remote control $249 remote control base station: $149 bridge power kit: $73.50 cable & supplies: $50 labor (2 person, qty = 6) $780 for a total of $1,301.50 plus tax: $32.59 grand total $1,334.09 In other words, he added $400 for a remote control I had already told him I didn't want, another $73.50 for an unnecessary power kit, $50 for cables I already own, and $780 for one hour's work to mount the tv, and the 2 hours it took me to hook everything up. It only takes one person to do the work, but it does take 2 people to actually hang the tv on the mount. Previously I had spent about $300 to one person to install a tv mount and helped him hang the tv on the mount.
Description of Work: Received an estimate for a wall mount of a 60" plasma monitor and connecting various home theater components.

My apologies for any misunderstanding. My suggestions are merely to create a symmetrical soundstage in an otherwise challenging room. A universal remote is just a suggestion and not a requirement. Please feel free to exercise the line item veto. We are very accommodating to do whatever you wish and are not predisposed to imposing our will.

Greg was excellent. From the initial consultation to the post-install follow up he was consistently attentive, professional and trustworthy.
Description of Work: Greg hung a flat screen on my wall, routed all the necessary cables behind the TV, and installed my components in a nearby cabinet.
