Ace Home Medics

Replaced a wall with masonry, paneled inside wall, replaced windows, door frame, plumbing for damaged radiator, used stucco, paint, polyurethane to inside panels, removed debris, plus all the minor things this repair entailed. Mat always responded to my emails or telephone calls which is very important to me. He was only $200 over the estimate which I thought very good. His staff were very polite and responded to all requests. I was very happy with this construction group.

We were happy start to finish. Mat had come initially to give an estimate. He was courteous and very attentive to what needed to be done. He scheduled us in and sent 2 excellent carpenters to get the job done. When they arrived, Tony and Ryan briefly reviewed the work that needed to be done. Tony told me the game plan. The doors and crack-patching were first and quick. Then they opened up the walls to see what was causing the leak. There was more damage than anticipated (isn't there always????!!). Mat called me and discussed what had been found and gave me a revised estimate. Tony showed me exactly what was going on in the wall, so I felt very well informed. However, in the end, while there was some additional damage, it didn't extend as far as had been feared. Tony and Ryan were able to finish up in just one day after all, and we were only charged a small additional amount over the original estimate (for the extra supplies needed)! Tony and Ryan were both respectful, easy to have around, and VERY hard-working. They came in, did the job, and if they even took a break, it couldn't have been a long one! I would highly recommend Ace Home Medics.

They were pretty good. They did what they needed to do. They got the work done quickly. It took him about an hour and so he ended up charging me less because it was quicker than he expected. I moved from the area so I will not be able to use them in the future.

Mat got back to us by email and a follow up phone with a professional, complete proposal call within days of our meeting for him to do an appraisal. After I asked a few clarifying questions which Mat deftly handled, we shook hands and I asked how much of a down payment he would need to set a schedule date and get started. Mat replied "I don't do business that way. You can give me a check or credit card for 1/3 of the total estimated cost when my crew shows up and get started . . .". What a refreshing surprise - a business man who actually who trusts his customers! Mat then asked where and when I wanted the dumpster and, on the appointed date and time, my doorbell rang and I was introduced to Mat's crew - Tony and Ryan. In my not inconsiderable remodeling experience, I have found the crew to be perhaps the most significant factor in the amount of pain (parking issues, arrival times, amount of unnecessary noise, excess obscenities at volume, time wasting, general loathsomeness on occasion, etc.) my home remodeling projects brought to bear on me, the homeowner / customer. As it turns out, Tony and Ryan (and James, who appeared on occasion) are great guys - well groomed, Very professional, courteous and and extremely competent. They never blared a radio, walked through my house unannounced or otherwise created any nuisance the entire time 6 weeks or so they were here. I can's say enough about those guys - they stopped and answered any questions, gave advice and are now basically among very few others in my own personal "Hall of Fame" for contractors, their subs, and other building specialists I've had work here. Like any water damage project, this one evolved as the crew opened up the walls and began to determine the required structural and finish repairs. Mat said his crew would not start to rebuild and/or repair anything until they had uncovered and dealt with the problem at its source. His guys found a few issues and got started ripping more back. Within a few hours they called me out and showed me the situation - the leaks that had ruined the structure and room finish likely had their origin in the sun room structure above. This necessitated a sun room specialist. Luckily, I had one - another great guy who had previously worked on my sun room in past years - Jed Meuse, of Meuse and Bergklund out of Groveland, MA.. Jed (who I will glowingly review separately) came out within an hour or so. After conferring with Mat's team, they approached me together and delivered the news - they were going to rebuild most of the first floor structure and then raise the sun room and rebuild it's wooden support structure, correcting some bowing and curving as well as modernizing the flashing. etc. Mat called me later that afternoon, having established contact with Jed and told me that he had the ball. He did and carried it the goal line! Mat coordinated the complex scheduling and work plan based on each companie's prior commitments and delivered. Then, Mat called, told me they were done, asked about my thoughts regarding the job, etc., and said he had some news on the billing. I thought "here it comes - the added Change Order costs . . ." What a shock I received instead - Mat told me that because they had used fewer materials and hours than he had estimated, I was due approximately $2000 credit on my final balance! There's a lot more I could relate regarding Mat's and his crew's professionalism and my complete satisfaction with all of their work, especially the finish work, but I am tired of pecking this out. I can only hope the reader gets the gist of my message - Mat and his crew over-delivered and then charged me less than what I had agreed was fair value. Mat and crew will get and ald all future business from me and I will not hesitate to recommend him to my family and friends!

Overall it went well. It was a busy season after all the storm damage but they performed work within a few weeks. We found out after removing the ceiling that the electrical work was not up to code so had to fix that which brought up the cost a bit.

He replaced it and did some other small repairs. He didn't even want to charge me because he used materials I had on hand. He was very nice to work with. I'm hoping to use him again.

As I've mentioned, all that I've needed so far was an estimate, but from phone call to follow-up e-mail, Mat has been wonderful.

Company rep was very professional. Workmen were there on time and completed work in a timely fashion. I am very pleased with the work done and the price was competitive with other estimates.

Mat was very responsive and professional. He came out to talk twice. He brought his subs with him. He spent a lot of time with us and made sure all angles were covered. We are still considering numerous estimates and will update this review if we ultimately choose Ace.

I have had a lot of compliments on the portico work. The workers were great and listened to my suggestions. I have no complaints with their service.

He did the work and it was good quality and it was done quickly. He offered a good price.

They took quite a bit of time to call us back for the initial appointment. They promised a quote within four days. After a quick nudge, the quote arrived at around day 10. The quote was very professional; it came in a snazzy binder. It was also over double the cost and time of our two other estimates. They baked in a lot of "what if" scenarios that the other two contractors didn't consider. We decided to go with another contractor. None of their concerns surfaced during the actual work when it was done by the other guy.

They were the lowest of the highest, but they were prompt. They were polite, kind and conscientious. They also returned calls promptly. The estimate was for a few thousand dollars. They were very nice when they came out and there were no complications with them. They seemed pretty professional to me.

They did very nice work and they were very, very good at it. The scheduling was fine. Communication was a little rough but I've seen worse in dealing with contractors.

We had contacted many contractors to get estimate and we were a bit discourage until we met with Matt. Matt was really prompted at getting back to us and setting an appointment for him to come take a look at the work. It was very easy and quick. He sent us a detailed quote with which we were pleased. Once we were ready to do the work everything went fast. Within 10 days all the work was completed. During the construction they took really good care of covering the areas and at the end of the day they did great at cleaning. Overall it has been a pleasure working with Matt and his team. They did a fantastic job, kept up with the time. Also we would hear from Matt everyday so we would get an update as to where things where and what the next steps were going to be. He also made some suggestion during the course of the renovation. We would highly recommend them and look forward to working with them in the future,

The job was pretty good. They do pretty good craftsmanship. They are not the least expensive but they are reliable and they do whatever they can to help with the project.

Overall, we were very happy with the work. They was very professional and easy to work with. When we had any problem, question or concern Matt quickly addressed them and was easy to get in contact with. It was a costly project but we felt like we got great work for a good price. Both the wall and ceiling look very good. We will be using Ace again in the future.

The carpenters arrived at the assigned time. They were friendly, professional and courteous; portions of the floor and stairwell were covered so that they would not track any dirt into my home. We had a short discussion of the work to be done. It was obvious that Matt, the owner of Ace Home Medics, had briefed them correctly as to the work to be performed. They went right to work. One carpenter installed my railing, the other began planning the basement partition. The handrail was finished first and that carpenter joined the other in the basement. They finished in the previously stated time frame. Matt came at the completion and asked if i was pleased with the work. I told him everything was exactly as I wanted. I would definitely use Ace Home Medics again.

Excellent experience - They were prompt, professional and hardworking. The quality of work couldn't of been better and I feel they were very reasonably priced, given the time and effort they put into the project. They cleaned up every night. The only suggestion I would make is they should try to control the dust better, if that's possible. I highly recommend them.

We were very happy with the level of communication that Mat maintained by calling us on the phone and/or utilizing email to keep us up to speed on an almost daily basis. Like most projects we had a few surprises and delays but none of which were due to his team. Mat was great at helping us work through a few important construction decisions. He also was great at working with our vendors and subcontractors to reduce help move the project along. Our kitchen looks amazing and we are glad we went with Ace Home Medics.

Matt was extremely prompt in getting back to me to schedule an estimate, and when he came to do the estimate he asked questions and showed interest in taking on the project. He was also prompt in providing us with a quote and detailed description of the work, which 2 previous companies never followed through on. Two workers were assigned to this small project; one did most of the carpentry, and the other did the painting and baseboards. They cleaned up the work space daily when they were done for the day. The work was completed in 4 days, but I did ask Matt to come back to touch up the ceiling patch. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would hire them again.

Excellent overall, they are responsive punctual and fair. When the job took less time they reduced thier price by $850.00! Very honest very professional; I would highly recommend them and use them again!

They attempted to contact me immediately, and then checked back in with me a few times to follow up they were very prefessional in my conversations with them. I chose not to go with them because I was in a time crunch to get the work done and I got a great price from another company that could complete the work the next day. for future work on my home I would call them again and make sure I had them in for an estimate.

Mat was exceptionally responsive from the very beginning. After he gave his bid, he answered every enmail with questions I had. He kept me informed as the work progressed. His crew were reliable and neat. He did the work in a timely and excellent manner. We are hiring him for another job too.
