A-1 ASPHALT CO INC

I contacted A1 for a quote back around the end of March 2012. I decided to move forward with them based on a few factors. First, the company is local and family owned. The pricing was competitive, maybe a little higher than some others, but cheaper than most, but more included (binder, three inch top, etc). Lastly, the guy running the company, Tony, is a straight forward guy. He's upfront, honest and dedicated. The city I live in requires a lot of red tape work to get this kind of work done (two permits). While I had to do the leg work for the permits (whereas most contractors get the permit for you), I didn't mind getting that done. Tony was upfront in saying between the permitting and his back log of work, it would probably be a few months before he was able to do the work. Come the day of the job, the A1 team showed up on time and did a great job, they were done in about three hours. They were professional and Tony took the time to explain what was going on, how the progress was and explaining the upkeep of the new driveway for the next few months. I would highly recommend Tony and A1 to anyone looking to get this kind of work done.
