I was referred to Ian by my husband?s friend. After getting plenty of quotes and interviewing potential electricians, Ian was the one that shined. He wanted to talk to my husband and I and get a feeling for what we were trying to achieve. He listened intently, sometimes interjecting what the building code was and allowed my husband and I to mull over things as we figured out what we needed to meet current code specifications ? and what we wanted. The first day he came, he was amazing. When we gutted the kitchen we saw electrical horror stories that were created over 50 years of various owners. Ian explained that replacing all that wiring was in his quote, as it was code. Also, nothing surprised him. It was as if he planned on wires being frayed, bundled in electric tape and shoved in a corner. Some were held up by bent nails and just looked spooky. When the project called for him, he was on time, fast and professional. Ian and his partner got along great with all the contractors, always respecting each other?s space and my dogs loved him. It went so far as the plumber and the carpenter saying things like ?He did that!? Every electrician I ever worked with never (drilled a hole, snaked the wire, patched that hole). He?s good.? Ian had an eye on ?finish? on day one. He told us to pick out fixtures, switches and under cabinet lighting because it was our taste he was trying to satisfy. We were so happy with his work that we asked him to install smoke detectors (and this guy is amazing at how he can snake wires). We passed rough and final inspection in no time, and the inspector went so far as complimenting his work. As far as I am concerned, Ian is the only electrician I will ever use.

As a realtor I had heard of Ian MacMillan's outstanding work in the commercial field as well as residential and I decided that when my home would need work done, he would be the one to do it. It was a pleasure from start to finish. He returned my call within 24 hours and we had a date scheduled for him to view the job and give me a quote. Ian MacMillan and his worker Jarod showed up on time and went right to work. Through the entire process Mr. MacMillan handled the coordination with the electrical inspector and the electric company exceptionally well. There was a question as to where would be the best point of entry for my service and some technical issues with mounting of the new meter. Mr. MacMillan seemed to understand the electric company's responsibilities better than they did. After he spoke to the top boss at the electric company, they agreed that Mr. MacMillan was correct as did the inspector. The job was done as he said and I am extremely happy with the quality.
