R&D Custom Exhaust

This past winter the handle of my 30 year old Ariens snow blower snapped on both sides where it attached to the thrower unit. I removed the handle and bought it in for welding. Michael explained that making a simple weld where the break occurred would be weak and suggested welding support bars above and below the break as well for additional strength. Michael subsequently called to inform me the first welds were complete but the attaching arms appeared bent. He recommended before he did the final welds that I pick up the handle and try it on the machine (Since the machine itself was too heavy for me to bring in). Michael had been correct and I brought the handle it to be shaped to fit the machine. It still did not appear to be right so we repeated the process again. The end result was a perfect fit. I put my snow blower back together and all works perfectly. I am ready for winter and perhaps another 30 years of use. I greatly appreciate Michaels observations and assistance in not just doing what I asked (the welding) but noticing there was a problem and helping me correct it.

It was good. They looked at thte car right away, gave me an estimate, and set up an appointment for the following day. I arrived at 9:00, they took the car right away, and I was out of the shop 10:30. I was very happy with the service. The service was completed quickly and done well. Plus, the actual price came in below the estimated price. That is very rare, I think. I have since referred family members and friends to the shop and they have also had wonderful experiences. If I need to in the future, I will certainly go back to Rand D.

Formerly and quot;Williams Auto Electricand quot; - and my 1st time (or attempt) to return as a customer. Today is Mon Jan 6, 2014: About two weeks ago - I replaced a ceased brake caliper. - However I missed something and it had a slight leak. Also - a lug broke - when taking that wheel off. I was due for a transmission fluid change - so I figured it was time to give 'Rand D' a try. I've been pretty happy with Tim, Ted - and Ryan seems nice (and knowledgeable). I walked in - like the middle of last week. - I was told Tim - is now retired and no longer there. Rand D - has Different policies than Williams. No longer can customers and mechanics talk directly. Mostly (almost exclusively) communication (or Lack there of) is handled by Kate - at the office desk. I told her - I'd like to do like I used to with William's - and set up a 1st appointment of the day - with TED ONLY. She gave a short response of 'all the mechanics are great'. - Then I restated - that may be - but I want TED. I also needed to know - HOW much?? - Before agreeing to Anything (I'm not a 'Blank-Check' kind of customer. Kate wanted me to leave a phone number - so someone could call me - Later to say how much to change transmission fluid on a 1999 Camry. - I said - 'But I'm right here - now. That night - I had NOT heard back from Rand D - and happened to bump into Kate in the supermarket. She said something about 'hopefully' someone will get back to you. (Hopefully??!) No One Ever did - Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat. -Never! She went ahead - and set up an estimate/appointment for Monday morning - 1-6-2014 1st appointment of the day. I dropped the car off - the night before - with a note -with details for TED - and my phone number. They open at 7am - I called at 8:30am - and My car was NOT being worked on. Kate can be VERY silent when being asked Direct Questions. I explained - I work from my car - and when I don't have it - I can't work. - That I was counting on having it back (repaired) by 10:30 to 11:30am. Then - Kate explained - someone on Saturdays - takes in cars - and usually on Monday - there is a backup of unrepaired cars. I asked WHY she did Not share this - last Wednesday - when WE locked in the appointment. Finally - after Two calls to Rand D - Ryan called - to tell me HE was working on my car. (what happened to and quot;TED ONLY'??! He called at 11:40am - OVER 4 and a HALF Hours After they opened. : ( I made about 4 calls to Rand D - with Kate answering Every time. - I told her I was UNhappy - and wanted Rick (the new owner to call) - and that too --- Never happened. Finally - at about 1:07pm - I called her - she stated to say 'We'll call you when WEand quot;RE ready. I told her and quot;Iand quot; was ready - and walking the mile and a half - to pick up my car - to let Ryan know - I look forward to having my car back - fluid changed and all. I arrived at 2pm - SEVEN HOURS - after they had had my car - for an (Maybe) Hour and a Half job!! : ( I said hello to Ryan - he was VERY friendly - and answered a couple of questions for me. However - Kate was mostly silent - I think Rick was there - he did NOT speak to me. This new rule - about it being taboo to talk directly with mechanics - stinks for me (and you too??). HUGE Communication breakdowns. It was Terrible that way!!! I felt Very unimportant - unheard - and NO apologies were extended to me. I wish Angies - would update - and add and quot;I Don't Know If I'll Returnand quot; - instead of 'Returning' or 'Not Returning'. I still have a headache - from trying to get some clear straight answers from Rand D. Odd - they put Kate in charge of communicating - and it is for sure - NOT her thing. Very Unpleasant experience!!!

They are very fast, honor their warranty, and the prices are reasonable.
