I am very happy with the work the Marquis team did for me. Three people; one is a woman. I applaud hiring women for this type of work; thank you, Marquis. They did exactly what I wanted done; the correct amount of trimming of big branches to open up more light on my deck and stop leaves and birds from making a mess throughout the year. I did not have to tell the crew what to do; they are the professionals and did a great job. I will be recommending Marquis to others; their quote came in much lower than other arborists; and I was very pleased with the result. GOOD value. Good cleanup.

their schedule made it convient to come a day early, i was not home but they came , they did , they cleaned up nicely. a couple days later they returned to get the big logs. I was very happy to write the check for the job completed,and completed throughly. previously they cleared the way for my garage in 2009 and I was pleased with the work. this job was done july 2020

This huge pine tree was in relatively poor shape and needed to be removed, it was a hazard to the houses in the vicinity. After another company had said they would do it, but backed out at the last minute (said their crane was not large enough), I called Marquis. These guys seem like real professionals. I couldn't believe how quickly they set everything up, and then took down the tree, piece by piece. They have all the right equipment, and tons of experience with trees like ours, it was clear. Communications via email and phone were always quick, with quotes, invoices and payments handled conveniently online. Would definitely contact them again if we have any tree service requirements.

John arrived promptly on 10/13/20 to do an estimate. We walked the property together. The plan was for him to email me a quote. After a week I called their office and explained that I hadn't yet received the quote. They said they would get in touch with John to find out what happened. After another week passed I called again and they said the same thing. One week later, I called and offered to meet with John again if needed and they said they would contact him. It's been a week since then. I give up. Be advised.

Excellent, the quote was quick and easy, very detailed and electronic. Once the crew was here I asked them to add the 4th pine tree in not originally part of the quote. The office called me immediately to confirm pricing and the crew worked fast so I was not billed the extra 4hours for the police detail. Very satisfied.

Marquis removed a large pine tree, a spruce tree and 2 others, and stumpgrinded 3 of the trees a week later. Their team was great, as was their equipment. The process to take down the 4 trees took only 2 hours, which was incredible. They came back the same day to remove the 2 largest trunks which didn't fit into the woodchipper--after which it looked like nobody had been in our yard. Likewise, their stumpgrinding was excellent, and very efficient. I would highly recommend them for any future job.

Excellent from beginning to end. Initial survey, office contacts and crew were all professional and friendly - easy to talk to for both laying the job out and scheduling. They came with all the equipment needed. All the trimming tools were the latest battery type and very quiet - which worked well for the 7:30am job start. The crew appeared to take pride in their work and the cleanup was complete.

Very professional and knowledgeable of the variety of trees on my property. Gentleman gave me an evaluation of the trees that needed attention and a preliminary cost assessment. E-mailed me a contract, their insurance binder, and we set up an appointment for services. Crew arrived on time and did a great job.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the service, we got a quote which was very compative. They were amazing at working with our crazy and last minute schedule and basically schedule the job within a couple of days, most other companies require several weeks. They worked all day and left the site clean. Highly recommend!!!

Marquis Tree Service was great from start to finish on this big job. John Marquis came out to scope the work, calculated the price on the spot, and tagged the trees that needed to be removed. A few trees were within the wetland buffer zone, so John wrote an excellent, detailed letter to our Conservation Commission to get approval for the removal. I had to be out of town the day they were scheduled to take down the 13 tall pines near our house, and I was worried about not being there to deal with issues, but John assured me all would be well. He called me that morning before they started the job, called me during the job to discuss taking down one more tree that hadn't been tagged initially, and confirmed when the work was done. I expected some damage to the lawn or driveway, but when I got home the only evidence that the crews had been there was the missing trees. I've used two other tree services over the past 20 years, and Marquis wins. They have the right equipment for the biggest jobs, the office staff is responsive, the crews work carefully and efficiently, the owner knows his stuff (he holds degrees in forestry and is a certified arborist), and (surprisingly) their price was competitive. I'd trust them with the biggest/trickiest jobs.

I have heard fantastic things about Marquis so was shocked by the quality problems we had. We hired them to remove 3 trees with no stump grinding. Their trucks completely tore up our yard on a rainy day. When we complained with photo evidence they refused to take responsibility. They showed up to do stump grinding even though we didn’t order it. When they tried to charge us and we complained they agreed to have no charge given the damage to the yard. Finally, we just found out that while grinding the stumps they ripped through a sprinkler line, which will cost $400 to fix. I wanted to recommend them given their reputation but this particular experience was not good.

They worked for a day, from 8 am to 3 pm, working on the trees as directed, they did an excellent job, used them several times before, gave me a 5 percent discount on an Angie's List discount coupon. Everything I wanted done was done and they did it great.

Great! Because the tree was leaning precariously and in danger of taking down power lines and blocking the street, Marquis did their best to get to us quickly. We also had some other tree trimming to get done too and they were able to do it all.

The crew was prompt, efficient and agile. They did a huge amount of work, including amazing bucket work, cleaned up, and left the place neater than when they started. We were very pleased with the work.

Awesome workers here at 7am but did not begin until 8am with respect. I had greeted verified job requested and stated if anything needed to let me know. Did peak out window to observe, when completed asked that I check to make sure completed correctly. I was very satisfied with the job well done,.

I called and asked for an estimate to get some trees trimmed and a tree removed. I got their answering service and never received a call back. Realizing it's a busy time of year and things fall through the cracks, I tried again two days later and that call was never returned. Very disappointing from a company with an A rating (which is why I called in the first place). I expected they would be more professional and at least return my call even if they were too busy to take on the work.
