Sent an email requesting a quote to remove a 40' Norway Maple from our yard as it had been infested with Winter Moths for the past 5 years. 1/2 of the tree was already dead, and the other 1/2 was not going to make it through next winter. I received the quote in my mailbox within 48 hours. I then emailed to schedule an appointment to have the tree removed, and the stump ground. Within a couple of weeks I had a date and time. The morning the service was to be performed I called to see if there was any possibility I could have an additional somewhat smaller tree removed as well. The crew arrived on time and was hard at work when I got there. I asked the foreman if he had time to take the other tree, but because he didn't have an order or a quote to do the work he had to call his office. Within a few minutes he handed me the quote and took that tree too. A week or so later the stump-grinder came and took care of that too. Fantastic job! I've used Marquis in the past and will again when/if the need arises.

I called Marquis because after the one storm we had that dropped all of the heavy wet snow, I suffered some downed limbs. One was nearly 8" in diameter. I also had some broken limbs resting on other limbs. I normally do much of this cleanup work myself, but this was out of my league. I then figured that while they were here, they may as well so some other work for me as well, which included some very low hanging pine limbs and limbs handing over my power line. Since I had already used Marquis, I called right off and in a couple of days, a rep came out to survey the work. Gave me a price on the spot to which I told him to come over anytime. The crew arrived about a week later. They brought a chipper and a bucket. They were friendly and professional and told me they were going to have lunch before getting to work. I told them no problem and then showed them everything that needed to be done. After lunch, they got right to work. They employed high quality equipment and were skilled and well trained. They were very careful and even laid down plywood in order to keep from digging up the yard. In about 3 hours, they finished up and left. The yard was very clean with little evidence that they were ever there. The even cleaned up the debris that was on the ground without my asking. The power line was clear with nothing hanging over it and the widowmaker was gone. All in all it was a A+ grade job with A+ professionalism. You might pay less, but you'd get less.

I had two independent arborists come out and a**** trees on my property. Both identified 4 tall pines primed to cause me some insurance headaches. So I went ahead and got several quotes from companies that owned their own cranes. Everyone charges about the same price, so you end up picking one with most flexibility and nice staff. Crew of 4 arrived with a giant crane and massive woodchipper. All details confirmed, I coffeed-up the crew and off they go. I immediately noticed how organized they are. Everyone got their spot, they read each other's hand signals, very safe operation. Watching them work like surgeons removing those huge trees without damaging trees right next to them left me in awe. Crane guy is a magician. Even if wind picked up, he handled it. They chipped up all the humongous trees (now I have a nice mountain of future mulch - nice!), cleaned up every little branch that may have broken off, swept up, and left. All under 4 hours. All with a smile on their face. Definitely earned themselves a loyal customer here.

They did a great job. The crew was entirely professional, responsive, and thorough. Nothing went wrong on the job, and they cleaned up nicely. The only weakness was a bit of missed communication setting up the job with their office. I suspect they work that better via phone than e-mail.

When we bought our house, we noticed our biggest tree had a pretty large hole in it. We got a couple of people to look at it and the general consensus was that it needed to come down (in addition to the hole it was splitting at the top). Marquis came in at the lowest bid and went over all the details of what they would be doing. We scheduled for them to come while we were at work and they came and went before we came home. The tree was cut exactly as we had agreed and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Except for the missing tree, we could hardly tell they were there.

After having to reschedule once due to an issue coming up on their side, the experience went well. They were on time and started to work immediately. They were careful with the house and the yard. They were very professional. They did as specified in the contract. Very happy with the experience

During a windstorm a 55' tree crashed through the roof of my home. Marquis responded within an hour. Four hours later the tree and all debris were removed from the property. They where nothing less than amazing in every respect !!!! Marquis team was like a fine tuned orchestra, all working in harmony. The team leader (didn't catch his name) was polite and compassionate which was appreciated under the stressful circumstances. They even gathered tarps from my neighbors and secured the five holes the tree left in my roof without charging extra. A heartfelt thankyou Marquis. Donna K.

We contacted Marquis to take care of an evergreen that had been suffering from an infection and was starting to die. It posed a risk to other tress around it, though it was not an emergency. Marquis came out promptly for an assessment and quote. They were able to finish the job much earlier than expected due to other jobs they were working in the area. Given the tree's size and location, a crane and chipper were both used. The entire process took less than 2 hours and workers were careful not to disturb anything surrounding the tree. The price may not have been the cheapest of all possible providers, but it was certainly comparable and the experience from initial contact to completion was very smooth and professional.

A great company to deal with - responsive, came when they said they would, and left a very professional looking result with zero mess. The stump was almost 4 feet diameter, and the price Marquis charged was far less (almost half) than what my current landscape contractor had quoted.

Timely, professional, thoughtful. Checked with me before the job and then again during to make sure I knew exactly what they planned to do and agreed. Cleaned up everything.

I found Marquis Tree Service on Angie's list and due to their high ratings, gave the ma call. Kristie was very nice and took all my information down, saying that somebody would be over later that day. They came right over in just a few hours and assessed the situation on the spot. I was given an estimate that was actually a little lower than I anticipated. the trees were marked and that was that. Pretty quick and easy. I knew that would be a very difficult job due to the accessibility of the tree and how it was broken. I was assured that it wasn't going to be a problem. A few more hours later Kristie called me back saying she had a crew in the area and if it would be OK if they came by right now. I said sure whenever they are able. another hour or so passed and the crew showed up and got right to work. These guys were good, they got right to work, took down the trees and cleaned right up. I don't think they were here for more than 2 hours if that. I talked them the crew briefly as they were working and they were friendly and very professional. They knew exactly what to do and used high quality equipment to safely do their job. I called Kristy back, settled up and the entire job was completed. I hope I don't need to take down anymore trees, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

Work done at 7 & 9 Samuel Road and everything was done in a professional manner. This is the second time I have used them.

They did a great job, were very thorough in going over the scope and having me approve their progress. Extremely polite and informative during the appraisal, scheduling process, and the onsite work. They did have to reschedule at the last minute due to another job running over, but were apologetic and able to get out the next day - they handled everything well.

John and the team were amazing! We had a number of oak and white pine trees very close to the house. John provided an estimate during the fall of 2014, and we decided to go with the project in the spring of 2015. The team arrived on time with a crane and a team of experts. They removed 11 trees in one day, and left the yard much cleaner than it was before. Our neighbors commented on the equipment and professionalism of the team. We highly recommend John Marquis and his team!

The crew was prompt and curtious and very thorough. It was a large tree and they took their time to really give it a good cleanup, inspecting it from all sides in the cherry picker. In addition they also took a pile of branches I had cut from last summer. My yard and driveway was cleaner when they left than when they started! This is our third time using them. I gave them a B for price because it was a little more than we had hoped to pay but again we knew we would be getting a quality work. They are dependable, courteous, and do a great job. I would highly recommend them.

Very friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. Seemed to truly listen to what I was saying and try working things out that were best for me without breaking my budget. Didn't use them due to getting a lower price quote for the same work; but would most certainly call them again and recommend them for future quotes on tree work.

Everything went well so far and they're great at communicating through this app as well. Couldn't be happier to get rid of those trees. I will check back after the stumps are grinned.

These guys removed a large pine tree that fell on my roof that left 11 puncture holes in my roof. I also asked them to remove another old tree that was looking like it would fall as well. All the debris was cleaned & removed promptly. ALL on the same day of the tree fall. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Service.

I had a wonderful experience with them. They were very good. They arrived about 8:00 in the morning. They got right to work and were done by 9:00. They cleaned up beautifully. They had a chipper with them and they took everything out with them.

The trees were around the perimeter of the house. For two of those which were very close, they had to climb the tree and it took an entire day to cut the branches piece by piece, as major side branches with with a foot in diameter were overhanging the house. I had asked to store the large stems in a corner for firewood which was happily accommodated.

Came on time and did the work in less time than he'd anticipated. Took down a couple of branches on two other trees that weren't in the contract but had said would do if he had the time. His price beat the competition, the work was done well and the site left neat and clean. His crew was responsive and professional.

John was able to provide a quote within days of my first call. We discussed whether to repair or remove the tree. John was quite knowledgable and I was comfortable deciding that the tree needed to be removed for our safety due to cracks and rot where two large trucks divided. Due to the size and location of the tree a very large crane was required to remove it safely. The work was performed three weeks after I accepted the written proposal. The crew arrived with the crane and three other trucks at the agreed time. They set up with great care, removed the tree in about 3 hours, and performed the most thorough clean up I have ever seen after tree work.

John was extremely responsive and his crew were friendly and knowledgable. They left the site clean and were on time and on budget. I have worked with other companies in the past and this company is top notch. I would highly recommend!

The people that came we very punctual. It took about 1.5 hrs to remove the tree and clean up all the debris from the tree. It is so nice not to have to deal with either pine cones or tree sap on the cars.

These guys are GOOD. They took out 20 old pine trees that lined one side of my property and chipped everything up. This work was largely done in my neighbor's yard and the Marquis team was very respectful of their property and was vigilant about cleaning up. They took down a hardwood in the center of my yard and ground up the stump... about 2 hours after they started on that one, you'd never have known there was a tree there! Finally they brought a crane into my other neighbor's yard and raised the canopy on a huge tree... they're like surgeons and did some very delicate work while hanging over a fence and being careful not to disturb my neighbor's yard. Good honest people that deliver exactly what they promised. Their prices can be higher than some others in the area, but given the quality of their work, I think that this is a case where you get what you pay for. Highly recommended!
