A+!!! Perfectly executed job taking down 5 trees each just a few feet away from the house using a huge crane. Both John and his crew are pleasant, courteous and professional experts at what they do. The whole process was a flawlessly orchestrated operation where each team member had an assigned role they efficiently and masterfully performed. When all was done in just few hours I was left with a yard and a driveway that didn't look like 5 big trees were just removed. Not a nick in the lawn or the driveway! They even cleaned up the street. Highly recommend for the ease of work with, quality of job and fair pricing!

Marquis Tree Service did an excellent job for us. They took down a huge oak tree, large pine tree, and trimmed back numerous large branches overhanging our property. They were prompt, completely professional, and took extreme care in cleaning up - really pristine work. I would recommend to anyone. Pricing was fair - they aren't necessarily the cheapest service, but they were complete pros and GREAT to work with. Highly recommend.

Many trees were downed in this storm and I'm sure every tree service provider was very busy. Marquis couldn't make it on Monday but came out the next morning - John came out to assess the situation and said that his crews were very busy, but he would try to get one there quickly. A few hours later, their crew showed up with an enormous crane (needed to lift the tree away from the house and over the power lines) and chipper truck. They were extremely professional - I was worried that the parts of the tree still resting against the house would cause further damage when it was moved, but they managed to lift each part of the tree away very cleanly, with no further damage. The Newton policeman who was needed (because the street was closed for the work) had spent the whole previous day on details for tree removals. He said that the Marquis crew was extremely good - he had "never seen anything like this" in his life, and that these guys must really be used to handling big trees. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards, too.

Fantastic. The trees that had to be removed were large and not that accessible. The crew did an excellent job and handled the massive crane to do the job like pros. We were very happy with the results.

Scheduled an estimate - they never showed up, called to cancel or returned my subsequent call. ***UPDATE as of 10/04/2017: Provider did call back and an appointment was rescheduled. They were on time and were professional. Received an email estimate quickly and it matched what we discussed.

They worked tirelessly to get the job done. I believe there were about 8 to 10 people on the crew all with different tasks and they worked seamlessly to manage this huge undertaking. For four hours, we and our neighbors watched the entire undertaking. It was impressive. The job foreman told us it was one of the largest trees they'd removed, and I believe it. Though the cost was high, it was definitely in line with the work that was done, and I'm hoping our insurance pays for much of it.

It went well. We called them in the Fall and they did not return our call. I intend to call them again. There was one or two issues. They could be more careful. I think it was a reasonable price for tree work. It's not a super duper good price, but it's not a bad price.

We emailed via their website email as I don't believe they responded to an Angie's List message. they set up an appointment to view the job which we admittedly changed from one tree in the front yard to a large shrub/small tree plus the tree. They sent their invoice via an electronic system which was very nice. They called shortly before doing the job. The biggest downfall was the stump grinding aspect. We couldn't get any communication regarding when that would take place. I was a little disappointed on that part of the job. They eventually came back and ground the stump per the contract. They never communicated when that would happen but the job is complete to our satisfaction and I would recommend.

I believe that when you leave a voice mail to ask for an estimate for service, you should get a call back within several days or even up to a week. Or, you should get a text message OR the answering machine should tell the caller the company is swamped right now and can't start your project until after such and such date. After leaving Marquis 2 messages and a potential third message (I hung up when the answering machine came on as soon as the call connected) within a two week period, I got no return call. I don't know how this business gets such a high rating on Angie's List if they can't do a simple call back, EVEN IF THEY ARE VERY BUSY!!! Marquis has a very poor sense of business management.

After a heavy snow, I noticed a large tree's trunk was cracked. Called Marquis right way and they responded my call quickly. Peter came to take a look and was able to send the crew over within 2 hours. The crew did a good job by the contract and cleaned up the area afterwards. I am happy with their quick response and professionalism. Will definitely call them again if I need another tree work.

I just remember the price was higher than the others. I hired somebody else and I would probably use them if needed.

Day of tree removal was very smooth and well done. A bit of problems getting them scheduled, and they cancelled once, but otherwise very smooth

John showed up immediately and instructed his crew to head over. Four trucks showed up around 3pm and they worked straight through until about 830pm - in the pitch black no less - until it was complete. His crane was took the trees over the top of the house. It was a big job and he had the necessary tools.

The team arrived promptly and worked the full day.

They were absolutely professional, excellent, I thought they were on the little high side, but certainly dependable, excellent work. We got an immediate quote, and they set the appointment up quickly; Their response was excellent. The work was excellent. The only reason to check out others, would be to get quotes that are not so expensive.

They didn't charge anything for the quote. For price, I think that they were reasonable but I don't know how to grade them against others because we only got that one quote. We were just trying to get a ball park price to see how much it was going to be. We did have a few trees that we wanted done with and then, he looked at a couple of other trees on the property and made some suggestions as well of things that we should have done.

Very well. They were here on time and finished the job by the end of the day. Clean-up on their part was excellent. Very professional.

Work was done in 3 separate visits as had been communicated to me by the office. All work was completed per the job description. The large oak trees and “hanging tree” were especially tricky b/c the location of them was past our leach field/septic but they stayed clear of it and got all the trees down per the job description. I give the team who cut the oaks down a lot of credit b/c they came on a 90+ degree day, in the afternoon’s sun, in head toe gear and were out there for a couple hours but you would of thought it was a cool autumn day based on their good attitudes and non-stop work ethic.

I contacted them numerous times and got an answering service who took my information. I also contacted them through Angie's List message. They never called me back.

Two phone calls went to voicemail, calls never returned.

Excellent. The crew were fast and efficient and very cooperative. They saw some extra branches that needed to come down (not specifically included in the estimate) and as they were here and up in the tree they cut them down. They also took away a few big branches we had lying around.

Marquis did a great, fast, professional job. They worked independently and accurately, taking down all the marked trees (and a few special requests) quickly and cleanly. The job spanned two days, and they did an excellent job cleaning up the first evening -- other than a huge crane in the front yard, one would never know the huge amount of work that had gone on during the day. They cleaned up, and ground down several stumps in two days, cleaned up the yard, and left everything in great condition.

I wouldn't recommend this company. I suspect because I live in the city they just didn't want to do the job but at least a return courtesy call would have been more professional.
