Total scam. I bought several power equipment from this store. The string trimmer stopped running after less than 10 times of use. The guy in the store claimed it s gas related. He “tuned up” both of my string trimmers . The old one works fine but the newer one stalls and dies. Brought it back to him and he claimed it has bad gas. He couldn’t answer why the other trimmer and blower run with no issues using the same gas mixed with oil (less than 2 weeks old). Every time I go there he wants me to keep spending money and would not consider looking to see if the item is defective from the manufacturer. Plus, shouldn’t labor come with a warranty too? What good is it for me if I pay for something then it doesn’t work? What a shame to do business with these type of people.I wish I could give him 0 star. I don’t not recommend going to this guy. And no wonder why they re going out of business.

[Member Name Removed], You have the wrong repair shop. We repaired your craftsman riding mower in 2018 which was for a general tune up. That was the only repair we have ever done for you.

This rating has one star, because I can't give less on this system. I scheduled a pickup for an 8 yr old John Deere lawn tractor to be picked up for a tune up and to have the fan belts tightened the week of Thanksgiving 2018. I could have done this myself, but didn't want to lie under a tractor in the winter. The tractor has never had any trouble at all, starts first time, never needed oil or air in the tires (Thank you, John Deere). I just thought it would be easier to have routine maintenance done by a pro. I was wrong. I scheduled the pickup online in 3rd week of November, and it was confirmed. A week later, I had to inquire why it wasn't picked up. It was finally picked up after I asked, then I heard nothing. In February 2019, I inquired about the status. Two days later I received a response telling me I needed the deck needed to be rebuilt, both blade spindle assembly's, 2 idler pulleys, belt and blades, a new traction drive belt and inner tubes for the front tires, also the engine needs to have the valves adjusted. $722.21. Okay, minus pickup & delivery ($65.00 and fair) = $657.21. Basically half the cost of the mower when it was new. I said I couldn't authorize that price. This mower worked fine when I sent it in, I just wanted routine maintenance. But something picked at me - tubes for front tires that had never once went flat in eight years? I asked if they could just do the tune up I had requested. This was still in February. I got no response. When I asked (again) in April, I was told in response to my refusal "It doesn't make sense to do a tune up if the other repairs are declined. The only way for the machine to function properly is to do the repairs that were quoted. I wouldn't want you to spend $350 on the tune up and have the deck not function. The diagnosis is $40" So I had them return the mower ($40 diagnostic, $65 pickup/delivery = $105.00), which came back with two flat front tires (again, never flat before). Oddly, the mower deck they supposedly diagnosed still had about two inches of grass on it from last season (okay, so I didn't clean it off, but they didn't either, so how did they diagnose?), and I refilled the front tires, which haven't last any PSI since and never had before. The mower stared first turn of the key - as always - so I am back where I was before giving them $105.00 for nothing. My front tires weren't flat before. Ever. If my mower deck is screwed up, I would think you need to actually look at it. It was a total waste of time and money to do business here. If I ever need this service again, I will do it somewhere more responsive, less ambiguous, and more trustworthy.

After a few days in the shop they called and told me that my 1 year old lawn mower did not have any compression and was not worth fixing. After paying their assessment fee I brought it home, then bought a new mower a week later. When I put the old mower on the curb for the junk man I pulled the start one last time on a whim, and to my surprise it ran. They told me that the motor had no compression because I never put oil in it, which made no sense because if that were true the motor would have seized before I finished the lawn the first time I used it. It ran several times last season. It may not have cost me much to have it evaluated, but this experience did waste my time and prompted me to buy a new mower I did not need. Honestly, not sure if I would go back.

They did a rush job on a 40 year old tractor and got is back to me in 3 days. Solved an electrical problem on a 20 year old machine, at half the price I expected. Very polite and prompt.

Crowleys picked up my 15-year old John Deere tractor, figured out what was wrong (a lot was, and I knew that going in) fixed it all, ordered new parts (a couple of which were unusual and took a little while) and returned the tractor to me in great condition. It has run like new all season. I felt they were honest and good at what they do.
Description of Work: Picked up lawn tractor, did multiple repairs and significant parts replacements plus full tune-up and servicing.

The 'positive': This place was very responsive to my request for service. They came to my house to pick up my snowblower promptly. However, this is where all the pros ended. Once they had my snowblower in their possession, I found out that the pick up was $80 (they were only 10 minutes away from my house). Also, another surprise was that they charged a 'diagnosis' fee of $35. So even any work even began, I am already more than $115 in the hole. The estimated cost for fix the snowblower was another $200, which the owner said was and quot;non-negotiableand quot;. I felt like the biggest sucker in the world. They took my snowblower and I have to pay them $115 just to get it back. No work was done because I I think this place is really dishonest and I didn't want to give them my business. Stay away from this place. 1/16/13- I called another repair shop nearby to fix my snowblower. They were able to give it a full maintenance AND repair it on site (my driveway) for $119!!! The diagnosis was actually not what Crowley's repair shop mentioned either. Once again, Crowley's is a rip-off.
