He did a really good job. He was very quick. It was great. It took him a couple of hours and he cleaned up after himself. The customer service is excellent.

I have been using Dave Kaufman for years. He is responsive, responsible, thoughtful, knowledgable and extremely helpful in offering suggestions. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I had this work done today and wanted to get this review out because I'm so pleased. I am putting my house up for sale next week and my realtor advised me that I needed to have cable and electrical access available in the family room prior to showing the house. My experience with contractors in the Boston area has not been good so I had concern I would not find someone fast enough to get this work done. I went on Angie's List and some of the reviews on David said he got work done quickly, so I called him on Friday afternoon and left a message. David called me back within an hour and when I explained my situation he said he would send someone at 7:30 AM Monday morning to complete the work. This morning at 7:30 AM on the dot, a gentleman named Brian was at my door, he was friendly and I felt very comfortable. I told him the story and he gave me his recommendation which I took. He went to work right away and completed the job in just less than an hour. He swept up any mess, which was minimal, pet my dog, and was on his way. Brian does not handle any of the money and said that David would send me an invoice for an hour of his time and supplies, so I don't know that cost of the service. I am very pleased and grateful for the fast, efficient and friendly service I received from this company. Thank you David and Brian. Lisa

I needed this done quickly, and Dave Kaufman was once again responsive. I have now used Dave Kaufman for thousands of dollars worth of electrical work since early 2012 and found him to be responsive, ethical, knowledgeable, prompt, helpful, personable and fair in pricing. I found him particularly refreshing to deal with after a terrible experience using another electrician (from Belmont) on Angie's List, who was deceptive, cheated me out of thousands of dollars, and prompted me to file suit because it was so seriously fraudulent and I felt that that Belmont electrician should be deterred from doing it to others. (I later reached a settlement with the Belmont electrician in which I received money back. ) I have been using Dave Kaufman since that time, and I have found him to be a refreshing change from the Belmont electrician, who was usually trying to "upsell" . I will write a separate review of the Belmont electrician, since that is overdue.

This is what I wrote to the the owner of the company after the work was completed. I thought that this would provide insight to our experience and ensure that you are an educated consumer when you utilize this company. "First off, I wanted to let you know that we will pay this invoice this week. However, I did want to let you know that we were extremely disappointed with the work that your company provided. Here are some of the primary reasons that your Team and your company truly did not meet our expectations: ~My house was left in disarray mid-project with wires just hanging out so we could not use the bedroom lights (over at weekend, no less) ~We had to proactively reach out to you regarding the project; as a client, I would have expected you would have contacted us. ~You should have consulted us about the Fan replacement rather than purchasing another one without our knowledge. In fact, I called Wolfers and they indicated that you could have received a new panel rather than an entire new fan that you forced us to deal with ~Your Team made many many holes in our walls; some of which the Team tried to hide by putting our furniture in front of ~ And lastly, your actual work was *more than double* the cost estimate (with no explanation) Like I said, I will pay for the services rendered. However, I would appreciate it if I could get an explanation as to why the cost of the job far exceeded what you originally showcased. I know that the original amount was an estimate; but I would have thought that you would have discussed the impact to cost once you got behind the walls. You were not transparent about the cost. Not once during the project did you or your Team mention the impact to the $."

Horrific. Could not get Dave to commit to coming back, he would send me days and times and then NEVER show up. His CUSTOMER SERVICE is the WORST and not sure his quality is that much better. The folks that work for him do not seem to up on the products installed. They installed a new timer for a porch and the person putting it in programmed it wrong and then instructed us wrong on how to change it. Am not comfortable with his services or workmanship. I have never had this experience before with an electrician. He is NOT dependable and would NEVER recommend him.

The owner seemed nice enough and so did the workers, but my light installation was done without much regard for aesthetics. The owner saw the work, said he would ask his workers about it and get back to me and then nothing... never heard from him again. Super weird as I wasn't too upset and actually got an estimate for some other work. Disconcerting for sure.

David Kaufman was the lead contact and he was terrific. No nonsense and worked with us on timing. Use him and his team, they are great.

The owner Dave came to the house and assessed the work. He sent a quote by e-mail the next day.We had several e-mail exchanges and he responded quickly.D.C . Kaufman could not hold the original scheduled date. Owner called me in the morning informing me of the issue.Rescheduled for a few days later. I appreciated the honest explanation. He had a customer emergency. He was upfront with the issue and doing the work a few day later wasn't a big deal to me.On the re-scheduled day D.C. Kaufman showed up on time. The 2 guys were very professional!The disconnecting of the hot tub presented some problems that had not been addressed in the original quote. The electrician on-site explained the options to me and Dave was available over the phone to discuss any issues.They could have steered me to the most expensive solution, but gave me honest answers. I am very happy with the work that was performed. I really appreciate the honesty of this company. The original estimate was for $1300.But, after discussing the repair work required the guys were done quicker as anticipated.The final bill was less than the estimate, which was a first!!

I could not be happier with my choice of electricians than I am right now. I hired DC Kaufman at the suggestion of my plumber for the rewiring work needed for my heating oil to gas conversion in a commercial building. The whole system was old and pieced together over time. Dave and his crew did a complete rewiring of the system, updated all of the sensors and panels, and labeled everything for ease of use in the future. They also hardwired in the necessary co2 detector. Dave even came back several times over the next few days on his own to check and make sure that the tenants had heat and everything was working properly. Nobody has that type of service anymore and I cant say enough good things about him and his team. I highly recommend them, even for larger commercial jobs.

The work was professionally done and very reasonably priced.

Dave Kaufmann came out, did an estimate, scheduled the work and performed it as expected. He also provided good advice, his crew cleaned up afterwards and were great to work with. In addition, he is very responsive to off-hour emergencies and issues. We highly recommend him.

Punctual, polite and receptive. However, did not use his services, received a better price from another compay within our budget!

If I could bestow an A+ to this business and especially its owner, I would. In August, I purchased a condo. While I fell in love with its potential one aspect that didn't thrill me was that the lighting was quite outdated. Some of the rooms and the hallway had pull chains on the light fixtures instead of fixtures; the living room lacked overhead lighting; the smallest and most fragile-looking ceiling fan I'd ever seen hung awkwardly at the top of the stairs. Most light fixtures were gaudy, worn and just not my taste. I called several electricians to gauge how much all of the considerable work I wanted to have done would cost. And how long it would take. Ideally, I wanted to have light switches before I moved in (in 2 days). I called DC Kaufman (and others) based on reputation in Angie's List. Of every company I called, Dave (the owner of DC Kaufman) was the most professional, not to mention he actually answered my call. Unlike two other electricians who gave estimates over the phone, Dave met me before work one morning to look at the condo and assess the job--in person. He gave me a detailed estimate that was completely accurate. And said that he could get the job done before I moved in. His estimate was comparable to the other I received. I could not have possibly have been more pleased with the service. Not only did his crew--he does not sub-contract, his crew works directly for him--miraculously do all of the work in one day, they cleaned up, were polite, and just did an absolutely beautiful job. A couple of days later, one of the ceiling fans was making a funny noise. I called Dave. He warned me on the phone that it was possible that the fan was defective and if so that was beyond his control. I was prepared to buy a new one. He personally came over to examine the fan and pronounced a very minor minor problem. He fixed it, no charge. I know nothing about electricity, lighting and fans. He could have told me that the fan was defective and charged me. But instead Dave Kaufmann was honest and fair. I'm not sure how many people can say that. In fact when I asked friends for recommendations for an electrician, most were reluctant to provide a name because they were so unhappy with their electrician's work. I am a perfectionist and have high expectations. D.C. Kaufmann exceeded my expectations and I endorse them as highly as possible.

DC Kaufman's office is about 2 miles from my house, and David Kaufman was willing, even though he was pretty booked then, to stop by in a few days to do an estimate right after he finished some other work nearby. He came when he said he would, looked at the job and said he'd have a proposal to me within two days. He never sent me an estimate, nor called or communicated in any way whatsoever.

One Friday night I heard a weird buzzing in the kitchen. Eventually I tracked it to the doorbell box, but when I checked, the only doorbell I could remember was fine. I was between electricians so I found Kaufman's on Angie's list and called. I was apologetic because it was Friday evening and I was not a customer but David Kaufman offered to come out the next morning, Sat, to check it. I asked if I poked around with a screw driver in the electrical box would I get electrocuted, and he laughed and said probably. He came out, by questioning me helped me remember a second doorbell, and disconnected it. Monday morning one of his men came out and replace it. It all happened promptly and professionally. I thought David's coming out Sat to a not-yet-customer was very nice, as well as good business. Both men I dealt with were professional, friendly, and responsive.

Dave was really great. Extremely responsive in terms of the estimate. I also wanted to see if we needed to do any work on our electrical box and he had good feedback in terms of what we did and didn't need to do. Because we're not experts, it would have been easy for someone to just do the work, but Dave explained why we didn't need to. The job his team did complete was a full replacement of 5 hardwired fire alarms. 1 in a very hard to reach place. His team was extremely professional and efficient. They were also really mindful that I had 2 small children in the house, so they coordinated the testing of the system with me. BTW, I gave them an inaccurate count of 4 alarms. So one of his team members went to Home Depot to get the 5th while they were on the job. They didn't even charge more labor costs for this. I highly recommend DC Kaufman Electrical.

Kaufman Electrical provided top quality work. Honest and well priced. It didn't matter that I was leaving the area, he treated me like a new customer!

The service providers were courteous, clean, knowledgeable, efficient

We called on a Friday afternoon & they came right over (3 other places couldn't come until Monday). We thought there would be a huge fix, but they diagnosed the problem quickly & had it done in 2 hours. Very quick work for a very reasonable price.

Start to Finish. The work was started on time and finished on time. The men were courteous,professional and were very well kept. Some of this work required "in unit" access and residents were pleased with the good naturedness of these guys and routinely remarked at how nice they all were. (They also wore boot protectors...quite a professional touch!)

Dave was a subcontractor of our contracting firm. He walked through the house early in the project to assess the usage of rooms and thus the placement of outlets, TV ports and internet access. The men who worked with Dave were responsive to our requests. In some instances, the placement of controls was not optimal and they would change them as requested. We have called them back to address issues and they have responded promptly.
